Outstanding food. Good service. Ambiance needs work...music too loud, flashing lights. Overall a great find in Frederick!

We sat outside along Carroll Creek on a perfect evening and honestly the setting alone is worth the visit. But the food is what will bring you back. The pressed watermelon, feta and pistachio salad with vanilla onion jam was a nightly special and was outstanding... one of those dishes that sounds unexpected but every element makes complete sense together. The dill pickle hummus was a standout starter as well. The pork belly and grits is a classic on their menu for a reason... rich, perfectly executed, and totally delivers on the hype. The duck breast and filet with foie gras butter were both exceptional mains... the kind of dishes that remind you why you go out to eat. Do not overlook the sides. The potato salad especially is criminally underrated. The Short Shorties mini cocktail flight was a fun and delicious way to start the evening... a Negroni, Manhattan and Martini all in miniature form. Honest and knowledgeable hospitality from Kat, outstanding seasonal food, and a creek-side patio that makes the whole experience feel special. This one is a must for Frederick.

TLDR: Fun rum focused distillery with creative cocktails and a quirky themed interior. Great stop…read moreduring a Frederick bar crawl. Stopped into True Standard Distilling during the Frederick St. Patty's Day bar crawl and the place was absolutely buzzing all day. As a rum distillery, everything on the cocktail menu leans rum which makes things interesting, especially when they remix classics that usually feature other spirits. I tried their take on a negroni and it was surprisingly really well done. It kept that familiar bitter and balanced profile but with a unique rum twist that made it stand out. The interior was unexpected but in a good way. They were still fully committed to a Valentine's Day theme with pink everywhere and a massive faux chocolate candy wall right when you walk in. It honestly felt like stepping into a mini Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, which added a fun and memorable touch. Despite the crowd, service was quick and efficient. The bartenders clearly knew what they were doing and kept drinks moving without sacrificing quality. Overall, this is a great, high-energy stop if you're spending the day drinking your way around Frederick. Definitely worth popping into, especially if you want something a little different from the usual beer spots.

Elevated diner food at a reasonable price. Always great service…read more We have been here multiple times for breakfast. The coffee is solid. Check out the cheddar chive biscuits. They are next level tasty. My fav main is the Steak & Eggs: homefries, 2 sunnyside eggs and toast. Lots of food and lots of flavor. Steak always comes as ordered (in my case med rare) and perfectly seasoned. Misc: atmosphere is a relaxed family vibe. We wanted a memorable place to mark the occasion and chose Showroom. I even noted both celebrations when making our reservation a week in advance. The hostess was friendly and kind, although clearer direction on where to wait would have helped. The front entrance was congested, and we felt like we were in everyone's way. Unfortunately, the service never matched the occasion. Our server never introduced themselves or acknowledged either celebration. They began taking orders without any engagement, and throughout the meal we were repeatedly unable to get their attention. I understand Sunday brunch is busy, but I work in a concierge-driven environment and was genuinely disappointed by the lack of hospitality. The food was mixed. The chicken and waffles and the omelet were good. My husband's steak was cold and the portion was very small. He ordered French fries but received unseasoned potatoes that lacked any flavor. My fish and chips were fine but also lacked seasoning, lemon, or any attention to detail. I specifically requested fries without Old Bay but received fries heavily coated in it. We also ordered a steak and eggs meal to go, which took about 30 minutes. When it was opened later, it contained only three small slices of steak. My brother-in-law genuinely thought he had been given someone's leftovers because the portion was so disappointing. My husband quietly paid the $300 bill while I still hoped someone might acknowledge the birthday or retirement with a simple mention, smile, or thank you. It never happened. We were never even offered a desert menu. We left without a goodbye or any acknowledgment from the staff. Disappointed doesn't begin to describe how we felt. We had many options in Frederick but chose Showroom because we expected a special experience. I could tell my family didn't want to complain because I had spoken so highly of the restaurant, but they were equally underwhelmed. Please do better.
