a plate of food on a table

Sophia was our server and she has such a bubbly personality. She's witty and personable! We ordered shrimp and grits and beef medallion. We also had a chocolate turtle cake. The food is consistently great every time we dine here. We like to sit on the patio which is absolutely beautiful with the flower beds and shrubs!

I've been wanting to try this place over the last 3 years driving past it every week! This is a cute local place that's surrounded by not much! It has a cute outdoor space and seating and inside they have a bar area and to the right of that they have the dinning space. The dinning space is a little small but spacious enough for families and/or parties. What I did notice is that this place isn't really kid friendly persay. They don't have a kids menu but they will do chicken fingers and fries and a noodle dish. I did also notice that most of the people in the restaurant didn't have any kids with them. The Food, we ordered a lot. For appetizer we had gotten: Salted Sourdough Pretzel Twists with Pimento Cheese Dip Crispy Thai Chicken Bites Crab Dip topped with Cheddar Cheese with Tortilla Chips The Pretzels were interesting, not what I expected, a little sweet and salty, shaped like a stick, was a little more doughy than I would've liked but it was good! The Cheese dip was decent, could've been more cheesy and hot but not too bad flavor wise (wasn't my fav dipping sauce but good enough) 3.5/5 The Thai bites were interesting, had decent flavor but just didn't love it. Wasn't really "crispy" because it's tossed in a wet sauce, but think of it like small nuggets that are breaded and fried, tossed a a sauce. Not my fav 2/5 The Crab dip, I'm a sucker for always ordering this wherever I go. But I thought it was decent, didn't really stand out to me but was good enough, could've used more crab and would've been nicer with more cheese. 3.5/5 For dinner we had gotten 8oz Grilled Bacon wrapped Filet Mignon with Horseradish Cream, Red Skin Shallot The 'Big Monoc' 8oz Prime Burger Sauteed Norwegian Salmon Escabeche with Basmati Rice The filet was decent, a standard filet, could've used a little more seasoning but the sauce helped a little with that 4/5 The burger was standard burger 4/5 Salmon was tender, cooked well and was moist 4/5 Overall, our time here was good, would like to come again and try more things, maybe without the kids.

Great customer service here. The food was delicious I got the corn risotto. Everyone at my table liked their food! I also liked how they have cocktails and I got the strawberry basil one. The vibe outside was awesome would definitely come back here!

Finally having a day free, one of my girlfriends and I decided to go for brunch at Monocacy Crossing. We had the duck nachos and the cinnamon buns, and then honestly ran out of space for more. The portions were great! We liked the duck nachos, but absolutely loved the cinnamon buns. We each had a drink as well - I had a peach sangria that I would have had another glass or so if I wasn't driving! I'll definitely return to try some more things on their menu!

I get a lot of guff from my buds for never giving 5 stars to restaurants I've been to. I have always said - when I get a 5-star experience I grade as such. Well here's one: Stopped here for dinner with an 8pm reservation on a Saturday. Eyeing the menu I was excited bc there were several things I saw that I was interested in. Coming from 1:20 away, we bundled a trip to Target and Old Navy into the excursion- and somehow both of those are only 2mi up the road from here. We pulled up and walked in right at 8. There is an outdoor area with Edison bulbs hanging overhead, but we made sure with weather - to book inside. Several seating areas- bar, front dining room, and a back dining room. They were very busy, so I was interested to see if it was a "only show in town" or "this place is really good" business. Upon being sat we ordered a couple diet sodas, and I added an old-fashioned. The drink was really good - just the right balance of booze and mix. For appetizers we went with an order of crab deviled eggs, as well as the hushpuppies. I will say that the menu had about ten things I wanted to try: duck nachos, Korean beef tacos, caprese salad, etc. The deviled eggs were great: fried egg half, with the devil filling on top and lump crab meat on top. Came with 4 pieces and slaw with a nice tangy remoulade underneath. This is a must-try if you're into this items. The Hushpuppies were probably a top-10 item I've had so far in 2025. Deep-fried and moist and fresh inside with a little corn mixed in. They were served in a dish with bourbon sugar glaze sauce underneath. WOW THIS WAS FREAKING GOOD. For my entree, I popped on the bacon wrapped filet with horseradish cream, potatoes and green beans. I'm not much of a bacon wrapped anything fan - but the bacon was just an after thought that added a touch of salt and sweet to the bite. The clear sauce as well as the horseradish worked in concert with the meat to deliver an EXCEPTIONAL meal experience. Wow. Have I said that enough yet? Beans were flash steamed and fresh, potatoes were great. For dessert, I nearly got disappointed bc out of the 6 things they offered- 4 have coconut in it. Is that a big deal? No- bc I got the espresso chocolate cheesecake, BUT coconut pound cake, chocolate turtle cake with coconut, coconut creme brulee - kind of overpowers other options. My cheesecake was very good - right size and great flavor. Also had a cup of coffee. Our waitress was also very nice and after handling several tables and leaving us alone for 5-10 min without taking a drink order at the beginning of our visit - she was great. This is one to book ASAP.

The food and service were good, although my quiche was a little overdone on the bottom. My mom got potato bacon soup that she liked a lot. A few things that made the experience less than stellar. The noise level in the restaurant makes it hard to hold a conversation. And, this is just a pet peeve of mine, but the hostess led us to our table and then blocked us from sitting until she poured our water. That annoys me. Just step to the side for two seconds to let your guest get to their table. Another pet peeve: the hostess laid the menus on our silverware. Do you know how many hands have touched those menus? Blech! Otherwise, it was okay.

This was my first time to this restaurant. I had won gift cards from The Housewives of Frederick. We enjoyed the gnocchi "snack" and pretzels. The gnocchi had a lighter consistency than I've had before, and it paired great with the pesto cream sauce and bacon. The bacon was a game changer in this dish! The pretzels weren't as dense as a Philly soft pretzel. The dipping sauce with chives paired great with them. My boyfriend had the burger, and added a fried egg and bacon at the waitress's suggestion. I enjoyed the pork tenderloin and veggies. The squash was really good - not overcooked. The cocktails are good - a little strong, even. Our waitress, Jade was good, not overly attentive. My boyfriend said he'd driven by the restaurant for years, not thinking much of it, as it looks small, like a plain house, but it's quite sizable and comfortable, though a little loud. They have some outdoor seating that we'd like to check out on the spring.

The Food here is can't miss. EVERYTHING is so good. Love it. Got the Steak Salad and Scallops (app) for my meal. Both were incredible. Wife got the PorkChop - was good but liked the regular PorkChop more. We ate on the Patio which was awesome. Perfect evening. Service was better Inside. Our server spent a bit too much time at a friends table while we had been there a while (10+ min)

Bacon wrapped steaks and poached eggs

One of our best experiences from eating out. I highly recommend this place. We went for dinner and had hanger steak. Price is reasonable and didn't feel like ripoff. Service was excellent. Found out that the owners are the chef and purposefully keep cost down and past them on to customers. Cheers to that. Today we came back for brunch on Sunday. Be sure to Make reservation. We had Bacon wrapped steak and two poached eggs. Wow - tasty tender steak, great home fries and just right poached eggs on crispy muffins. Awesome value - 2 good sized steaks and two poached eggs. $24. Very happy customers here.

Turned out to be a very memorable first visit. We found this restaurant after using Google Gemini…read moreto find "Authentic German Food" when we arrived in the parking lot, we saw the chefs sitting outside taking a breather next to where we'd parked, but thought nothing of it at first. It was our first year of dating anniversary but we failed to notice when looking the place up that they closed at 7:30pm. We walked in at about 7:40pm and the bartender regretfully informed us that they had just closed. We accepted the situation for the error it was on our part and opted to go elsewhere. So barely 3 minutes after walking up to the entrance, we were heading back to our truck. The chefs were still there and immediately asked us why we weren't staying to eat. When we explained that we hadn't realized they closed at 7:30, they looked at us and said, "Go back in there and tell them we said we're still open for you guys." We were a bit concerned that we'd cause hard feelings and said we could just come back a different day, and they wouldn't have it. "We're the guys who'll be cooking, not them, if we're okay with it, then what have you got to lose?" We looked at each other and thought briefly and headed back up to the entrance. I had mentioned that I had a spur of the moment 'hankerin' for German Food, and he said, "Well, you're at the right place!" Before we got back in the front door, one of the chefs (we learned shortly after were the owners) was already letting the bar staff know to get us seated and taken care of. My girlfriend ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu, and I ordered the Pork Schnitzel. We of course sampled each others' dishes and it was beyond amazing on both entrees. Some of the best schnitzel I've had NOT in Europe, and the mushroom onion gravy was so savory and rich. The Chicken was loaded with flavor and I could definitely see that being on a future order for myself. After we were beyond stuffed, we decided to split a dessert for the occasion and had the Chocolate Mousse Cake. When the bartender learned it was our first anniversary, she made sure to get a candle to put in the cake for us, it was a very nice and welcoming touch. The bar staff was on their game with the service, keeping drinks full and checking on us frequently to make sure we were good to go. There were only two other tables still seated in the restaurant at that point, and they were actually there already eating when we first arrived. They were still there when we departed, so we assumed they may have been family friends or locally important patrons. The ambiance of the restaurant has a very British Pub feel to it, and it is so amazingly cozy and feels like home. We both left with an amazing impression and cannot wait for another chance to try some of the other menu options. I'm very curious to try the Filet Mignon next time, but the Stroganoff looked quite tempting as well. I think we both found a place that we'll absolutely keep on the short list of places to revisit next time we're in town. It was such a memorable experience and we so greatly appreciated the flexibility and hospitality they demonstrated. That type of service is so hard to find these days. Beyond that, I REALLY want to try those Eclairs on a Thursday!

We took a table in the rear enclosed patio area near the bar. To start we ordered the meatball sliders. Two come with an order and they were good. I liked the toasted slider rolls, the tangy sauce and the spiciness of the meatball. Recommend cutting it in half to eat it without it flying out of the roll. Overall a good start. I ordered the gnocchi primavera which really wasn't in the traditional sense - as the vegetables were puréed together into an orange sauce. Had a good flavor and was served with burrata. Starters and entrees came out very close to each other which wasn't a bad thing. We also added a margherita pizza to share which looked weird - but tasted great. Nice crisp to the crust and thin. I usually think of a doughier crust with this kind of pizza but still good. Dessert was the fudge cake - rich in flavor, adding a coffee. Overall - would have loved to sit inside and get that experience but still good considering we didn't have a reservation. Made a reservation not like you really need one, but we made one and was seated down pretty quickly. The host was nice and friendly and the wait staff said hello to us within the five minutes of us seating. I appreciated how family-friendly this place was, they give these cute little animal boxes with different things inside and crayons to keep the kids entertained. The decoration is fun with a lot of outdoor vibes and stuffed real animals. They bring out a side of chip and a yogurt dill dip that's interesting, a fun idea. The food, mhm so we ordered a lot! Crab dip: 2.5/5 not too bad but not memorable, okay amount of crab, flavors were too heavy on the cream cheese/fillers but just okay, they need more bread with it but the chips helped. Prob wouldn't order again Crab cake: 3.8/5 pretty good size and good amount of crab and good flavor probably the best dish that we had ordered here! Would get again. Burger: 3/5 granted I did order this medium well for my kid, but the burger was charred a little too much around the burger, giving it a sort of dry crunch on the edges and charcoal burn vibes. Not my favorite texture that I would want on a burger, but perhaps it would've been different if I ordered a medium? Bread itself was a little stale/crunchy which I did not prefer how it was cooked/prepared. Overall, it was just okay. Ribs: 2.5/5 the ribs were half off ribs so I decided to go for it because of the good deal. But it was just okay, being that Blackhog barbecue is right next-door (thier dry rub ribs are amazing), I would hope that they would step up their barbecue rib game. For a " full rack" there were only nine bones and seemed a little smaller than what I'm used to. It's very heavy on the sauce which I didn't think was the best pairing and wasn't the best flavor bbq sauce. Overall, I wouldn't order it again. Steak kabob: 3.2/5 this was actually pretty tender for the cut of meat, I'm surprised that I didn't have to work for it so I was happy about that! The only criticism that we have is that the meat itself did not have that much flavor or seasoning and there's only one skewer of meat and one skewer of veggies. Meaning the total amount of meat that was probably on that dish was no more than 4 -5 ounces of steak. And for that price point, I would want a little bit more meat. Mac and Cheese: 3.5/5 pretty good for a kids Mac! Good cheese and flavor was impressed! Overall, the service and the host in the experience of being there was pretty good, but the food was a little lacking not sure if I would go again, but it was on our right experience in terms of food
