I was in Bayonne looking for a mexican restaurant to celebrate Cinco De Mayo and decided to give this place a try. I pass by it all the time and heard good things but never ventured it. Finally got the opportunity to dine and it did not disappoint. Place is huge and a classier mexican restaurant with linen table cloths and napkins. Their happy hour have under $10 margaritas and a few other specials. I started with the garlic shrimo which was delicious and it was paired with a good crusty bread for dipping! For my entree i had the steak tacos. The steak was seasoned but a but dry on it on. Once i added the salsa and guac it was delicious. My husband had the Burria Quesadilla which loved! Both were stuffed with meat!!!! I had a refreshing mango frozen margarita which was good also! The place for crowded and i see why. They also have outside seating! I will definitely return. Good was good and servers where very nice

Delicious and fresh Mexican food. The restaurant is on the corner and across the street from a school in Bayonne, NJ. Great service. I enjoyed the food. There's a bit of a wait but when the meal is served it's pippin hot. Looking forward to visiting this location again. They have a fancier location than this spot. This place is modest and I would return here more often if I were closer.

Flautas. My favorite were the chorizo and potato

I am always worried about having Mexican food outside of California but this place did not disappoint. The service was great and so was the food. We came with only adults but I noticed a lot of families. So I would say it was family friendly. My food was excellent and so was my margarita. Everything had great flavor. They gave us iPads for menu but still not sure how they work.

We loved it here. Came on a busy Friday night and were quickly seated at the bar. Bartender was very friendly and helpful with the menu. AMAZING drinks. My blueberry margarita had real fruit and my fiancé's "Mistletoe" drink was to die for. Vibes inside are bright and fun. Next time we will try the patio. Mole sauce is 4/5 from me....a mole critic :)

Mexican Quesadilla, my favorite dish. Always delicious.

Once again I visited el Aguilar Dorada and the place did not disappoint. Mexican quesadillas were great are always and this time we also ordered the enchiladas suizas which were also good. These 2 dishes served 3 people well and we still took one of the enchiladas to go. Price was also fair and there were plenty of available seats on a Sunday early afternoon. Street parking isn't great on this area so be ready to go around the block a couple times. Staff was friendly as always.

I would say the decor and ambiance is nice especially in Bayonne. I would say the food also was good. I had the breaded chicken and it was pretty generous because it came with 2 pieces. It came with 2 sides one which I picked fries and they took like an hour to bring out. At that point my son already ate chips and chicken and was not going to eat them at one point I asked them to cancel and sub for something else which they did when we were all almost done. what I didn't like is that they charged me after I said the shirley temple was too sweet to give me sprite instead they charged me for both. Other thing is they charged for the birthday dessert which the order was over $150 I think it should've been a gift. My margarita was 2 sips and it was gone but I did feel it when I got up. I would say a little less ice and more liquid to enjoy it a little longer. Other than that staff was pretty kind.

We were in Bayonne NJ looking for solid Mexican food and found el águila dorada. Their rice and beans were so good and authentic. Same with their enchiladas although if I had to pick I prefer their verdes over their mole enchiladas. My mom ordered the Chiles rellenos and they were delicious! Two come per order. The servings are pretty filling and DELICIOUS. I would come back if I'm in the area! The service was quick and the server was friendly. I loved that the restaurant is decorated with lovely Mexican decor and Christmas decorations.

The best Mexican in the area, by far. Excellent tacos, burritos, service, and an amazing ambiance of casual, cool, and fresh! The sleeper is the calamari and chorizo appetizer. My recommendation is to get it hot, but if that is not your thing, the mild is good too. Portions are great, and the service is impeccable. Their margaritas are top-notch, and so are all their specials.

This is the best Mexican spot in Bayonne NJ. The food here is absolutely phenomenal. I love the Mexican quesadillas & the sope. I always get it with steak, the steak is so flavorful and cut into perfect pieces. The honey glazed calamari appetizer waters in your mouth it is so delicious. Staff is very friendly and fun. The decor and ambiance is very fun and it's very beautiful inside.

Went with a friend for a girls brunch but ended up getting more than one drink, then more entrees then shots?! Like Omg, we just kept ordering lol. Service was fast and responsive and the ambiance is nice. Restroom was super clean and they have great music too. Def recommend.

Still 4 stars. The Birria tacos were amazing, but service was very slow during the visit. Our plates were taken away, and it took a bit to get the check after that for some reason. We intended to ask about dessert, but had to make a flight soon so we opted out of that. We were also not offered a refill on chips and salsa.

Currently at the restaurant as part of a rehearsal dinner party that started at 7pm. There is about 40+ in our reserved area. The long table which I'm at comprised of about 24+ people and we are being attended to by 1 waiter. Placed our order 30+minutes ago and we are still waiting for food - ANY food at this point - to arrive. We were served chips with salsa and guac but are not refilled. It is now 8:32pm and I am HANGRY. The 6 small children in our table as well. My sister had to plead for some form of bread to feed her 2year old daughter. Honestly things not looking good. I see tables inside the restaurant filled with customers dining at good looking food. I just don't understand why it is taking forever for ours to arrive. Update: food arrived at 9pm and they missed one order. Will update after I eat because really hangry.

It's good food. The location on 38th st. Has a little bit better quality food but if you want atmosphere, then I would recommend 18 st.

Let me start by saying this address is incorrect. It's actually 1007 broadway …read more The vibe in this place is simply unbelievable from the moment you walk in the door , the feeling of being welcomed !! The owner Isabel was so amazing and actually hung out with us for the entire time we were there , making it a great experience . Service is excellent and the decor in the place is very Mexican festive . They have lots of tvs and sounds like the place to be to watch a soccer game . The food was great and also very affordable and in big portions . We had the steak alambre that actually comes with black bean (soooooo goodsddd) and lamb tacos . All in all this was an awesome experience and we will definitely visit again and try other items in the menu . See you soon Isabel

A reservation for twelve. Two hours in the restaurant. Not a single bite of food…read more We arrived at 8:30pm on a Saturday for a reservation for twelve. There wasn't even a chair for me at our table. I stood there for 5 minutes before anyone noticed. Then nobody came to our table for more than 30 minutes. No greeting, no water, no drink order. A waitress dropped off menus and walked away. I understand being busy and short-staffed, but nobody even bothered to tell us "We're slammed, we'll be with you shortly." Nothing. Eventually, someone at our table went to the bar to order. I followed and had to flag someone down. A waitress took my drinks and food order. Drinks took forever. Arriving over the next 30 minutes, in the wrong order. More than 30 minutes after taking my food order, that same waitress returned and told me the kitchen was closed and my food wasn't happening. She had taken the order herself! Never mentioned a cutoff and let me sit there for 30+ minutes without telling me there was a problem. When I asked about it, I got attitude instead of an explanation. No offer to make things right, nothing! Then, ten minutes later, food was brought to someone AT MY OWN TABLE who had ordered only minutes before me. When I questioned it, I was simply told they ordered first. I asked when the kitchen closes and was told 9:00 every day. That's difficult to reconcile with karaoke being advertised every Friday and Saturday evening, especially since friends of mine have ordered and eaten here well past 9:00pm on weekends. Either way, a party of twelve with an 8pm reservation should know about a 9pm cutoff before having its food order taken. What probably happened is she forgot about my order and by the time she remembered and entered it, it was too late. Then came the bill. I paid for my two drinks and signed. Earlier, another person in our group couldn't get anyone's attention, so when I finally flagged the waitress down, I asked if she wanted to order a drink too. That was her drink not mine and not my tab. After I had already paid, she came back, told me she had voided my completed payment, and charged me for three drinks instead. She reversed the entire transaction and made me pay again. It took a back-and-forth to correct it. Why didn't she ask or just charge me for the extra drink she thought was mine? why void the entire transaction? ‍ After two hours, I left with two drinks, no food, and virtually no service. We walked to El Aguila Dorada on Broadway, where we were greeted, seated, given drinks, and served actual food. We stayed until about 11:30. I never write reviews. I rarely have the time, and never take the time to do it. This is the first experience that made me feel it was worth sitting down and writing one. The food at Casa Lupita might be excellent. I wouldn't know.
