Consistent. Good and tasty. Prices have increased like every place else after 2020 which made a fantastic value just decent. Iat the same time I think the flavor profiles here are excellent and it's very consistent for a mom and pop shop. The place is nothing special. Theres no beautiful interior to sit in and make influencer pics with. Unless you want to walk into the horror show of a bathroom which made my friend cry because it was so graffitied and unhygienic. At the same time there's a certain charm about that this place that's undeniable. The charm is the food. Excellent. I'd eat here everyday if it wouldn't kill me. The food here is so good! My coworker use to bring platters of crunchy potatoes tacos (tacos dorados de papa) for potlucks and holidays to work from a places called : Taqueria El Atacor # 11? Long gone! However, this El Atacor Taqueria #1 (not number 11) has the exact same food! Maybe same owners? I don't know, am just happy the food and menu are the same to include the interior of the restaurant (I spy the same arcade games). El Atacor restaurant is known for their CRUNCHY POTATO TACOS and they are so good! I recommend it with their red salsa. Their red salsa is mild to medium spicy and similar to King Taco or El Taurino's version, but with less smokiness. Love their red salsa! Beyond potato tacos, we loved their carne asada tacos and chile rellano on the menu. The restaurant is open late till 11:30pm; and 1:30 am on Friday/Saturday. Card and Cash accepted. I came in specifically for the potato tacos. the person asked if I wanted everything on top and I said of course. They definitely don't skimp on the toppings and salsa. This was taco #20 in my quest to eat all the tacos on the LA Times' 101 Best Tacos in Los Angeles (really in SoCal as they include the OC) These were my first potato tacos on my quest and they were amazing!!! So crispy and flavorful although they still needed salsa. The red sauce was spicy enough for this gringa who craves spice and even for the hubby who grew up in DF. Of course, I had to try the Super Burrito, aka the Dong or the Porno, as I will eat anything endorsed by the late, great Jonathan Gold. It was delicious. The carne asada was spiced perfectly and cooked well enough to have a bit of a crunch without being overdone. The parking lot is small and tight. We parked easily on the street. This place is good for a quick, decent,cheap bite to eat. I enjoy their 3 tacos combo with small drink for $10 and change. I enjoy their beans but lots of times they come out lukewarm and the restaurant won't re heat the beans :/ so I just go to El Atacor every once in a while and take the food to go. I like to go before 4pm bc that's the time before this rude female cashier comes in who when you hand her money in her hand she will place your CHANGE on the counter likes she's too good to hand you your 83 cents in your hand. read more

Good old school food and prices. I like the variety of items you can get here...from every kind of burrito/taco if thats you thing, so breakfast dishes, to Pozele and menudo and Caldo's. Birrhia...just about everything. My particular favorite are the 10 taquitos with guac. That is the main thing that drew me there. Now I often get Pozole in the weekends. Very good and quick staff. We drove an hour from a different part of town to get to this place cause I remember they had some good tacos & I wanted to get some to go with my boyfriend. Their working hours stated they were open until midnight. Got there at 11:40pm and the door was closed & locked. The worker was still there, fully ignoring their customers in front. I really loved the al pastor tacos here. It was so juicy and the toppings were great with onion and cilantro. I liked the side of radish and carrot with jalapeño. You'll miss this place because it's in a small strip mall on a busy part of Figeuroa that's in a place where you're probably on your way somewhere else. The windows are dark and it looks like no one is there. Don't let that deter you if you want some some delicious and freshly prepared food. The tacos are solid and the all meat burrito will keep you filled for days. Also, if you think you're going to eat the Super Burrito by yourself, think again. It could probably feed a family of four. They have a few seats to eat there, but the game here is to-go orders mostly. The staff there are great as well. Be ready with cash when you go because that's all they take.
