Food Was Amazing!!! Place not so busy so you get to enjoy with your family! Will definitely come again! Gracias

18. Taco de Pescado (fish tacos)

I give this place 5 stars because it's above average Mexican food which I surprisingly can never say about Mexican food here in Vegas. My only tip is bring your own reusable water bottle. The area is sketchy but I knew that going in and just took it for what it was. The service was great - they helped us right away and gave us suggestions on what to order. I saw reviews about the decor being tacky but I thought it made sense for the type of restaurant it was. I enjoyed it and found it cheerful. If you take a close look, the art hung throughout the restaurant is actually breathtaking. Now for the food - I have a thing for fish tacos and these did it for me!! They were battered perfectly, had a great flavor and the sauce was tasty. The only thing I'd do differently is order more sauce next time. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK FOR THE FISH TACOS! My partner ordered the fajitas and to be honest, fajitas are always a let down for me. All I can usually taste at most restaurants is that charred taste and nothing more. These were so flavorful and every bite was satisfying - I didn't even need to pair it with rice, beans, or a tortilla. I would definitely order this again. The only thing I didn't love was the water situation. I personally hate using plastic water bottles because it's so wasteful and terrible for the environment AND can be easily avoided. Unfortunately, they served water this way here and charged $3 per bottle, which we were not told when we ordered. This was disappointing but next time I just won't order water. I almost always carry a reusable one with me so it won't be a problem. All in all, this restaurant has great prices, is above average in taste and the service was great. Will definitely be back!

The small building.

After the Las Vegas Lights soccer match, I came here for dinner. I had this place bookmarked for some time and it was close to Cashman Field where the game was played. I knew about where the place was and had no trouble going right there. If you're unsure, open the maps app through Yelp and let the GPS guide you. It's on Fremont Street just past Charleston. Parking is on the west side of the building and the entrance is in the middle of the small space. I entered and waited for a while. The woman came from the kitchen, got a menu, and told me to sit anywhere I wanted. She followed me and gave me the menu when I sat down. I ordered the carne a la tampiqueña which the menu describes as: tampiqueña meat, served with rice, beans, cheese enchilada, and guacamole. The woman also noted I wanted iced tea and she brought me a large glass. She refilled it once and asked later if I wanted more. The dinner was good--hearty food with beans, rice and I ate three tortillas with the meal. It was as I was putting some meat in a tortilla that I noted they had forgotten the guacamole. Oh well, too late as I was almost done. Another time. I was not asked about dessert and I saw no dessert listing on the menu but I really didn't look for any. I was full at that point. Service was quick and pleasant. I don't know how the restaurant got its name but I won't be absent in the future.

It's not in the nicest place, but the food is great. We come here for lunch when there is daylight. Otherwise, neighborhood a bit sketchy. Make great mole enchiladas and excellent chilaquiles. The staff is friendly. Most everyone I've been here with enjoy the more authentic Mexican food. The beans, rice and salsa are all wonderful too.

Is there any entree that is gluten free here? Does this restaurant use a shared fryer for things like flour taquitos that would cross contaminate gluten free corn tortilla chips? I have Celiac disease and have to eat gluten free.

I had the mahi mahi tacos and they were too much for me, in part because they came with three sides, all delicious. My husband had the carne asada quesadilla and enough left over for lunch tomorrow. I tried the lime margarita, also excellent, and we couldn't leave without trying the churros for dessert. The ambience is lovely, with gorgeous decor, comfortable booths, and an excellent Hispanic music playlist. This is our new favorite Mexican restaurant. Big shoutout to our server, Brandy, who knew just when to replace the lemonade, and suggested the excellent street corn. We will be back very soon!

I really like the interior decor which is like a very contemporary and upscale Mexican. They have a variety of table and booth seating and a large bar. Our server, Hunter, was very friendly and attentive. He always ended every interaction with "have fun!" I tried the "el corazon" sangria which was delicious! It had a wonderful, warm flavor with a light hint of cinnamon yet it was still cold and refreshing! A cool tip - each drink comes with a little card with a symbol on it and the drink ingredients. Save this card! At each table is a game board of sorts that offers various prizes as you match the cards on the game board sort of like bingo. We really enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa, and we tried the traditional guacamole with vegetables as well. The guacamole was wonderfully cool and creamy and flavorful. For my entree, I tried the chicken fajitas which is served on a steaming platter with various accompaniments. This was also very delicious, and the chicken was quite flavorful and juicy. A small side note - it was served with a cous cous of sort, but I think I would've preferred a simple Spanish rice. The chicken portion size also seemed a bit smaller than when we get fajitas at Chili's. I would recommend you get double meat if you want to share. We decided to try the chocolate flan and the fried ice cream sundae for dessert. I preferred the flavor of the flan and the unique textures of the flan which had the jiggly caramel flan part on top of a more cake like chocolate part below. I honestly think the fried ice cream was not too good. It did not taste freshly fried, and the coating was very dry and brittle and hard to eat. I prefer the places that serve the fried ice cream warm with a very bubbly crust that is both crunchy outside and a bit soft inside. This was not that. Overall, though, we really enjoyed the dining experience here! We will probably return and try their weekday "Fajitas and Ritas" special! I recommend Hola!

It was honestly some of the blandest Mexican food I've had, and nothing we ordered really stood out. It also felt a bit like a tourist trap. A simple frozen margarita was around $20, and the menu seemed pretty limited. I've since heard they're mostly known for their giant tortas, so maybe that's what they're best at. The service was fine, but the overall ambiance felt a little off. There was also a noticeable smell throughout the restaurant that made it seem like there might be plumbing issues. Sadly, the nostalgia wasn't enough to make up for the food, and I don't see myself coming back.
