Four stars mainly for customer service. The lady at the register was very nice and helped us with all our questions about their food. She over charged us, which we didn't even realize it but she was nice enough to come to us about it. She double checked our receipt and returned the money she owed us. Not to many ppl would would have done that. She did forget to give us our free agua Fresca that we should have got for checking in on yelp but it's fine she was pretty busy and I rather have gotten my the money back that she over charged us anyway lol My husband and I shared the asada wet burrito in chili verde. It was pretty good. What made it good was the green sauce. It gave it so much flavor! If sharing, order something on the side. Their burritos were pretty small to share. We also tried the tacos de canasta. They had a special buy three get one free so we tried the chicharon and the picadillo. They were pretty good but don't think I would come back just for those. My dad had the asada plate. I wouldn't recommend. It had no flavor what so ever! I did have a bite of my moms kesabirria! Now that was bomb!!! I cannot believe I've lived here in West Covina around the corner for this place for two years and I just finally went in today! I tried two Al Pastore tacos , one Carnitas and first time ever Buche. I am Buche fan!! Hope I'm spelling it right. Actually want to go back and get a burrito. Spent $30 here to just to get a dry burrito with no sour cream and cheese that I paid for on the side... I asked for no beans inside my burrito and theres barely any meat in it as you can see. I went in today and first i wanna start with the customer service. The cashier didn't answer my question she was just telling me to read the menu and being rude barely talking to me. I asked what flavors the waters were and the signs of the flavors are hidden from where i was standing so i didn't see them. she points and doesn't say anything again.. Another thing. a homeless guy went inside and asked for water and she told him to go outside and gave him sink water. I honestly don't know how to feel. Came in on taco Tuesday 95 cent tacos not bad right? Wrong! Tacos are small as is but they gave me little meat! Top of all that the meat was really salty, normally I wouldn't taste the difference but this time it was bad ! Update! Stephanie the business owner acknowledged the problem, admitted the portion size were wrong, and made it all up! The next time I went in the tacos were much meatier and tasted a lot better! I'm still fairly new to the area and this place is a very short walk from where I live. I've passed by it so many times and have always been curious of what "Tacos Al Vapor" is... So finally one day, I came in and tried it out. I WAS HOOKED! Allow me to tell you why... 1. $0.75/taco Yes, you read that right, seventy-five cents per taco. Come on, if that doesn't entice you to try it out, then you must be blingin' like a villain (whatever that means). One would argue that their tacos are small - and they have a very good point - but for the price, you are definitely still getting a good deal. Just think about it... if you are really hungry, order 10 tacos and you still just have to pay $7.50 (+tax). That's the average price of lunch specials at most fast food joints. If 10 tacos doesn't cater to your hunger, then you should probably think of getting a gym membership and start hitting those treadmills... I'm just sayin'... 2. Pastor Tacos I've been a fan of pastor tacos ever since my bro-in-law introduced me to the flavor a few years back. So anytime I try a new taco joint out, Pastor is automatic if it's in the menu. El Bukanas' pastor tacos exceeded my expectations. It's easily in my top 3 of best Pastor tacos I've ever tasted to-date. It has this distinct mild hint of sweetness which I think separates it from other pastor flavors. Couple that with pickled carrots/onions and a dash of their Habanero salsa on each bite... nothing but an explosion of flavor! The first time I tasted it, I only ordered one (i had to try some other meats) and I had it to-go. It was so good that I went back the very next day and ordered 8, just for me. I was in Pastor heaven and my taste buds could not thank me enough! So far, I've tried only their tacos. Besides their Pastor tacos, I've also tried their Cabeza and Asada tacos. The Cabeza wasn't bad, but I thought the Asada meat was a little too dry, although it still tasted good. They have so much in their menu that I look forward to trying, and I think I'll take a stab at their tortas next time around. My $0.02. read more

I just wasted over $70 on dinner for the fam. I had previously had Bukanas from West Covina and it was good. But this location in Azusa was horrendous. The meat was spoiled, the potatoes were under cooked. They placed black avocados on top of the burritos, they put water downed "nacho cheese" and "al pastor" meat that had nothing al pastor about it! I gave this place 3 separate chances. There meat is bland and has no flavor. The first time I got a burrito and it wasn't good at all. The second time I went I got a torta and it only came with beans and a little bit of asada. It didn't have any lettuce, tomato, or Mayo or any toppings. Was dry and nasty. I gave it one last shot with the asada fries and told myself there is no way they mess this up. Well I was wrong fries were dry as hell (needed salt), they used watered down nacho cheese (when they could just put real cheese, would make it A LOT BETTER), and it had like 3 thin lines of sour cream, the asada was shredded thin and again had 0 flavor. This is my favorite place in the area to grab a taco. You don't have to wait until Taco Tuesday to get a great deal on delicious tacos. Their tacos are 75 cents each every day. They're not huge but they're not super tiny with just a pinch of meat. They load these things up. I've never tried anything else besides the tacos and an agua fresca because they're good and the price is right. And by they I mean the tacos. The agua fresca was too sweet. I ended up taking it home and squeezing a bunch of lemon juice into it. The only salsa I've tried is their Habanero (labeled as Hot) salsa, and it's nothing short of the best I've ever had. It's got flavor and it's got a lot of spice. I've been trying so hard to replicate it with my homemade salsa, but just haven't had the luck. I have no doubt that the rest of their food is good considering they use the same meat to fill the burritos and top the sopes. They meat is flavorful with just the perfect amount of grease. read more
