Came in for a quick bite of food. We love authentic Mexican food! Haven't been here in years and remembered it being tasty. Upon coming in we felt perhaps it wasn't well kept, kind of dirty inside. Came in behind a hispanic couple. They sat down so we followed suit and found a table. A hispanic woman who worked there came up to them and greeted them and happily took their orders and ignored us. No greeting or anything. We stopped her on her way back to their table and asked if we could please order. She looked angry and said we had to "go over there to the counter". So we got up and placed our order. No biggie, maybe it was a friend of hers? We were hungry and having a good chat so we ignored the attitude. Then a few minutes later, a hispanic family came in and she greeted them cheerfully and they sat down at a table and she took their order at the table... Then she had the nerve to turn around and look the person I was with in the eye with total attitude. Like she was proving something or shaming us by her ugly attitude? She hated that we were there! There was no doubt about it at that point. Very unwelcoming. We are always kind, great tippers (30% always for great service) and very fair people. I felt totally discriminated against because I wasn't hispanic and dining their seemed like an annoyance and a burden to the one woman there who was meant to be a hostess and friendly. I'm sorry but this is very bad business practices and in this day and age I thought we were passed this kind of thing. The wicked look as we left was beyond enough to have me never go back. Plus to be honest, the food is not that good. I get better guac at Mariano's. Plus, no burrito is worth that treatment. Won't go back. Wouldn't recommend you go there either. Shocking. read more

Food is great, but the service is horrible. I have been coming here for 12 years and the service seems like it is going down. They used to treat you like you were welcomed. GREAT MEXICAN FOOD! It is pretty cheap Mexican food as authentic as you can get it. Cooked by Mexicans, served by Mexicans, an ATE BY MEXICANS (that tells you something). There is somebody always there and it gets crazy busy at night. Free Chips and homemade salsa. I suggest the steak torta or burrito, but expect to take some home, the portions are huge! read more

I love this place... But tonight my experience was not good. The lady at the register wearing the lime green shirt thought it was amusing I like cilantro and onions on my torta and decided to laugh about it and even pin point it to the cooks that I was getting a torta with cilantro and onions and kept laughing about it. This place sucks! The food is bland the tortillas are stale. I know authentic Mexican food and this is far from it. I live in the area and i can never figure out why people still buy from here. If I could give no stars I would. This place does not know what customer service is. Haven't you guys ever heard of the customer is always right? I placed an order and I said just meat for a steak taco, and they put cheese on it. And then told me I was wrong and that I said that I wanted cheese? No I did not say that. I said just meat. El Burrito Tapatito never disappoints. Not necessarily my favorite place to dine-in (and apparently not others' favorites either since everyone was waiting for take-out), They have great tacos - completely authentic and full of flavor. The steak are my favorite. Their guac only comes in a large, but it's huge. Totally worth the money. Speaking of money, it's super cheap. And they have great horchata. There is much more the choose from on their menu besides tacos, but I tend to stick to what I like. There isn't much parking around here either, but luckily they are never really packed so you should be able to find a spot. read more

Went there with my boyfriend and ordered a burrito and two steak tacos & they come out with three steak tacos and no burrito. They tried charging him another burrito when it was their fault they messed up and made the third taco. On top of that, they hand out complimentary chips and salsa and they only gave us the salsa & the whole 30 mins we were there we only had on our table salsa & 3 tacos. Worst service ever. read more

Most people order the Gaint Burrito for $4.95. Very Filling. On Saturdays one may want to try the soups-- Caldo de res or Menudo. For breakfest try the Huevos Rancheros. I have been a couple of times. This Mexican is closer to authentic than most places in the area. The staff is really nice. The atmosphere isn't great, but it's nice and bright and the food is the right price. The horchata is delicious. Churros are pretty good. I like the enchiladas and burritos. People I have been with liked the carne asada and the fajitas. The guacamole is really good and the complimentary salsa is pretty good, not very spicy. read more

We eat at a lot of Mexican and taco joints. In my experience, the quality of the food at El Burrito Tapatio is average at best. I tried several tacos with different meats on them. The steak taco was okay but it had some chewy pieces. The chicken taco had a funky taste. I took one bite of it and had to spit it out. The El Pastor was the best of the three tacos which had good flavor. The restaurant staff was friendly and courteous and the food was prepared promptly. I probably will not return because i didn't care for the food. read more

Good ole hangout after a night of hanging out on Michael lane (back in the day). Chips and salsa perfect . Guacamole is a smoother texture with chunks of tomato and onion. Giant chicken burrito was exactly what I'd expect. Chicken, beans, sour cream, guacamole, cheese and lettuce all tucked in one is how I ordered it. The chicken from time to time can use more favoring but other than that it was perfect. Love that they are open late. Good service, never had a problem and I've been coming here for about 18 years.
