two el califas tacos (one of each meat) and two regular tacos
    Tiffany P.

No frills food truck with nice picnic tables, trash cans, and delicious salsa. Initially heard about this place from my company (they catered them for an event). The al pastor and carne asada tacos are so good! They also serve it with cheese (like a mini quesadilla) for an up charge! Although food and service were both great, will be docking 1-star since they don't have pricing anywhere. TIP: Don't forget to ask for orange sauce for your tacos! If you pay with card - you will be charged a $1 fee.

Excellent barbacoa super burrito $13.20. Massive. Flavorful. I ordered without rice so it was a bit runny/sloppy. Could have been rolled tighter and beans drained so it wasn't so loose. Spicy wasn't really that spicy. Mid afternoon so service was quick. Sat in the shade at their picnic table.

Chicken Tacos are my goto in terms of Mexican food - and they serve up the best Pollo is the Sunnyvale/Mountain View area! I usually go for the Diablo chicken (spiced chicken with spicy sauce inside the tacos) and it doesn't disappoint. Good serving of chicken that is tender and feels freshly cooked (my typical experience is that chicken tacos elsewhere doesn't always feel very fresh), and amazing sauce - make sure to get the spicy one, they always give me extra sauces on the side - friendly owners! I sometimes go for the El Califas Tacos (tacos with cheese in between in addition to the protein), but mostly opt for the regular ones (in the picture). Around 10 odd bucks for 3 tacos. I'm yet to try anything other than the tacos here but I hope to soon!

Sign but it doesn't face the street, in the gas station lot

I was driving down the street, saw this taco truck, made a hard right, looked it up on Yelp and decided, Yup, I need to order three street tacos, Al Pastor, Carne Asada and Barbacoa. I usually ask for mild salsa but it was hard to hear the guy and hard to hear me so I just nodded my head to all of the questions. All of the tacos were supercharged with flavor, I don't eat spicy but this definitely gave you a quick burn and after burn. The Al Pastor and Barbacoa meat that I could taste had a nice flavor from the marinate and tender. The Carne Asada was mainly the medium salsa, onion, cilantro and light beef flavor of the meat. The tortillas are soft and grilled with a little bit of oil to give you that extra flavor. All the tacos came with onions, cilantro and green salsa on top. The plate came with a lime to cut the heat which I didn't do and julienne radish and pickled diced onions that I didn't eat but cuts the heat too. Even with the hotness of the salsa, I loved the tacos. I'm a Carnitas and Al Pastor fan so I hit one of two of my favorites. The guys working the taco truck are nice too. If I am out here again, I will stop by again. They sell street tacos so whether you want a snack or a meal, give these guys a try for very good tacos.

Located behind the alliance gas station on Mathilda. El Califas Tacos is a taco truck that has pretty good tacos for the area. The "El Califas" tacos are cooked with a layer of melted cheese in the middle which is pretty unique to them. They have lots of meat choices as well The horchata was a also pretty good which comes in a bottle and makes it easier to shake/mix and drink. Plenty of tables outside for you to sit and eat it fresh but parking is limited Would highly recommend checking it out and ask for extra salsa!

Tacos are delicious, plenty of meat, and the salsa is so good! The service is good, fast, and the staff is friendly!

I dare you to change my mind about this place being one of the best taco trucks I've been to. I came here for an afternoon bite with some coworkers and left with the happiest food coma I've had in a while. They don't skimp on the meat here so you KNOW you're getting more than your money's worth. In fact, get yourself a bag of tortilla chips while you're at it because you'll definitely want to finish off what's falling out of your tacos and onto your plate. It's nice because they have a few wooden benches and tables for groups. The service is also great and they take Apple Pay so you don't have to worry about having enough cash on you. Aside from that, the horchata is meh but you might need it depending on your spice tolerance haha.

Carne Asada and Al Pastor tacos

The chicharron tacos El Califa style (melted cheese between tortillas) is my go-to here. The flavor of the chicharron is so good, and the addition of the cheese helps balance it out. I do wish they gave some salsa on the side or had other salsa options, but the one on the tacos is still good. I don't love their carne asada or al pastor. I just find them to be a little more bland and not my favorite. I come here for the chicharron, and eat it fresh at their outdoor seating area so the cheese is still warm and melty. They really tried to make an ambiance even though it's parked behind/beside a gas station. The turf and benches don't feel like they're in the way of the parking lot. Their hours are not ideal as they overlap with common working hours. When I can sneak out for lunch or swing by right after work, this is the spot for some chicharron tacos.

However don't overlook how good their food is. We tried a few of their specialties and my daughter had her usual cheese quesadilla with refried beans. The server was great and very helpful. I ordered the Shrimp Al Tequila. I've never seen a dish like this on a menu, so I thought I'd try it. It has a very, very warm spicy heat to it. You can taste the flavors from the tequila and the capers and olives. It's a wonderful dish, although I wish there were more shrimp on it! My wife had the Pollo. Al Xocohoqui (I know I'm misspelling that). The sauce here is rich, mild in spice, creamy and nutty. My daughter's quesadilla was actually one of the best I've ever had. The cheese blend is just really good and the tortilla is perfectly fried on both sides. The real star though is their flan. Holy moly was this incredible. The tastiest combo we got out of it was loading the chips and salsa with rice and beans, and any part of our main entree. Sort of a nachos-like bite. The food overall was really mediocre. The strawberry margarita was so disappointing, very ice slushy and watered down. Not boozy. No strawberry flavor either, despite looking the part. Uneven pours for the table. Unfortunate.
