I did takeout here a few times & different hours of the day. Tacos have been pretty consistent. Carnitas taco is my favorite here just the regular one. I've never been a fan of all the add ones so I usually don't get the super taco. The carnitas taco is crispy pieces on the outside & soft tender on the inside go perfectly with the soft corn tortilla. On this visit I also tried the al pastor taco regular. A bit of tang with the crispy edges, would probably be my second go too moving forward. That's if I dont fall in love with the buche (pork stomach) or tripas (cow intestines) first, which will be my next order. ;) Stay tuned.... I ordered the super burrito with 1/2 carnitas & 1/2 El Pastor "no extra charge!" :-D And a horchata. "Light ice" The burrito comes with rice, beans, avocado, sour cream, pico de gallo, and a meat of your choice "or in my case meats of my choice" They offer free chips and salsa with your order unfortunately the salsa was meh and the chips were cold. They give you red and green sauce for you burrito "I really liked the green sauce " the "huge Mission style"burrito itself was absolutely delicious and slid down easy. Lopez Taqueria is a small Mexican restaurant that deserves more recognition. Coming from SoCal, my expectations for good Mexican food were low in NorCal, but Lopez Taqueria proved me wrong. Customer service was great, helpful, and fast. The burrito itself is big and they offer sauces (red and green). The burrito was so good that I forgot I even had the sauces until I was halfway through. The avocado were actual slices instead of the typical mashed up version, which was nice because it tasted more fresh and had more flavor. The meat was tender, moist, and packed with flavor. The fries were even seasoned and were soft in the inside. What stood out the most were the fries and I truly wish I could've gotten the carne asada fries just to eat the fries themselves. Tortilla was warmed and tasted fresh as well as being light. The tortilla actually held everything together and there were no "leaks". The sauces caught my attention as well because they weren't your typical red and green sauces. These ones tasted homemade and had a different flavor than most. The red tasted more of a Smokey Chipotle which was my favorite and the green was more of a zesty lime almost. Both were not too hot and complimented the burrito very nicely. Located in a plaza next to Popeyes on the corner of Hollenbeck & El Camino Real. Plenty of parking, but the parking lot sucks. This restaurant is located a door down from the Karthikeya Supermarket and there is no shopping cart "parking" for it. People randomly put their carts in the parking lot which means it can easily get blown away. I'm not sure of the situation but while I was eating inside the restaurant, some dumb person or the wind, decided to push the cart in between my car and another car - scraping the side of my car!! I'm so mad. Anyways PARK WITH CAUTION - away from the supermarket. Aside from the horrible parking lot, this location is small but the staff are friendly. While I was scrolling through Yelp for a place to eat, I noticed this taqueria with multiple locations (must mean it's good!) and came to this since it was closest to me. I ordered 4 tacos (carnitas, carne asada, al pastor) and the guy offered me chips & salsa. The salsa was spicy but so good! The tacos came with double tortilla and it was perfectly crispy when fresh, and the portions and toppings were quite generous. My favorite was the carnitas and al pastor. The carnitas were semi-crispy but good enough to satisfy my cravings. The al pastor had a subtle sweetness to it but still good. The carne asada was ok to me, as the meat seemed a little dried out for me. The fridge next to the cashier is self-serve when ordering, so you can find bottled soda or beer. I was looking for a burrito for dinner and for some odd reason the trucks that I go to are closed. So looking up Yelp I found Lopez which happen to be close to where I was at the time. The reviews indicate a good place to get a burrito. The restaurant was very small and not busy at all. Most of the patrons have made to go orders. Anyway looking at the burrito menu I noticed that the super burrito was in just under $12. That is a great price. So I ordered on with carne asada and no beans. My order took about 8 minutes to show up and service was very prompt and professional. The burrito did not come with any nachos and I was slightly disappointed. Perhaps they might consider that option in the near future. Included was two small containers of a red and green salsa which tasted pretty good and spicy. The burrito seemed about the size of a regular burrito at other restaurants but it was stuffed very nicely. The ratio of meat to other ingredients was substantially high. In fact the first 60% of the burrito was mostly meat with just a little of the other ingredients. With a super burrito the sour cream and guacamole tend to make the whole thing a little mushy. But this burrito was not as mushy as I expected it to be In the end I rate this place 4.5 stars for the food and service. I will come back again next time I get a hankering. read more

One of the best tacos in the South Bay. Please go out of your way to come this particular Lopez Taqueria location. The others are just not as good. The al pastor marinade was unique from other taco spots and had depth. The lengua tacos here are my favorite in the South Bay. It had a unique sauce it was stewed in and the texture is perfect. I like my lengua with a little chew and this was right up my alley. The chile verde was tender (and not the dry kind of tender). It was slow cooked and moist while the other location felt like it was boiled hard. Carnitas tasted good, it's standard, not the best I've ever had. Avoid the fish tacos - it's just bunch of dry fish sticks on a tortilla, not a big piece of juicy fish like most people expect. I like how they have chili oil on the tables. It adds a nice smokey touch. I wish they had orange sauce like the other taco spots in SJ (Spartans, La Vics, etc). The service here is extremely friendly. OMG - a little hidden gem! Wanted to try to their fish tacos as right now I get my fish taco fix in San Mateo area and wanted to try someplace local. Am so glad we came here. First off - this place is CLEAN - nice and airy. The cashier was friendly and I love as she enters the order you can see it on the screen below where you pay to confirm. Their fish taco was delicious - squeeze that lime on top and you get the crispy fish, fresh veggies and that creamy PIECE of avocado in the traditional two layers of corn tortillas. Definitely would come back for this and they are local - so that's a huge plus. The only light negative was they fish was cut a bit "thin" compared to the other place but they give you several pieces so you get a lot of crunch. So a bit different. Since we were there and saw they offered lengua - we went for burritos as well. I got the "Super with lengua" and hubby got the "Regular with lengua" and to me - their burrito was the true star!! CHUNKS of tender delicious lengua with white creamy beans - and not just guacamole but CHUNKS of avocado (for the Super). Rice was not dry - very flavorful and the big thing as well was the THIN tortillas! OH MY. That makes SUCH a difference. You really get to enjoy the fixens and don't have this heavy tortilla - it's light and thin - it was SO GOOD!! I eat regularly at the original location and I've never been treated as badly as I have been here. My usual order is an El Pastor super burrito and usually pay in cash since it just makes things easier and they offer a discount for cash anyways. I came around 1 so towards the tail end of lunch rush so lots of people inside but no line when I got there, which is perfect. The lady behind the counter already didn't look happy to see me when I walked in to order but people have bad days so I didn't let it bother me. After placing my order, I tried paying with a $100 bill since that's all I had on me and she told me I need to give something smaller with some attitude. I don't have anything else so I need to use card now. I walked next door to the grocery store while waiting for my order but wasn't gone for more than a few mins and when I stepped back in, my order number was call, perfect timing. I get there and confirm my order number and order and the lady pulled the bag back and asked to see the ticket number. I give her the ticket so she can confirm my order number and give me my food. I then ask for some more red sauce since I prefer it to green sauce and she says she doesn't have any, as she is filling up containers of it right there. I then ask her what about one of those on the counter she's filling up, she then proceeds to pull them back and says no. How do you blatantly lie like that. If you want to charge for it, say so and I'd pay for it. I'm not the kind of person that causes problems so I didn't say anything but I'll never come to this location ever again and I'm not even sure I'll ever come to the chain it. No orange sauce here but the red and green sauce is great to add on to the tacos. Ordered a veggie burrito and they made me a super veg burrito and charged extra for refried beans even though I asked for them to put refried beans. My veggie burrito also had several pieces of meat; I'm vegetarian and it was super to taste the meat. Ordered a super chicken burrito for my husband. Both burritos had a LOT of tortilla which made it hard to taste the burrito Fillings. Chips and salsa were fine. Will not return. read more
