I came to this restaurant , it's my friend's favorite Mexican restaurant, she drove us, it's located in Sunnyvale. There's ample parking at the outdoor mall, near the Smart and Final. My friend ordered the shrimp quesadillas with Monterrey Jack cheese, I ordered the chips and guacamole and the chicken enchiladas. I ordered it mild, but next time, I will order medium spicy. The good was quite tasty and the beans and rice were delicious with the enchiladas. The staff bedding the counter were nice, Rinaldo was friendly and helpful taking our order and then later, served us the food. The restaurant has a television, the FIFA World Cup games are going on right now. The restaurant is cozy and you can bring your family here to eat. The prices are fair, and the food fills the plate. I'm a little confused on the ratings because my husband and I didn't have a great experience. Ordered 3 street tacos - two grilled chicken & one carne asada - and the Shrimp Diablo plate, as well as a side of beans w/cheese. We ordered chips and salsa, but when we got home it wasn't in the bag. The tacos were just okay, the grilled chicken were decent but the carne asada weren't worth it. The carne asada meat was too big and full of fat and tendon. The diablo shrimp were so hot my husband had to rinse off the sauce to continue eating them. Their rice and beans were decent, but nothing special to report. I wouldn't return. There are far too many locations in the greater San Jose area that have much better food for less. read more

again one of my meals to go, okay the tortilla soup was fantastic. packaged well because they had everything on the side. the limes the tortilla chips that onions the cilantro. somebody really knows what they're doing there when they pack that up I also got the cochnita - very tasty and done well. it's not an easy dish to make served with a side of rice that work cooked the traditional Mexican way. and by the way I put some that perfectly cooked Rice in my soup. and served with beans. they were black beans topped with Mexican cheese. The carne asada quality is decent, and their beans are tasty. The orange sauce is wayyy too spicy, even for someone with pretty high tolerance. They put thinly sliced lettuce in their hot burrito, so the lettuce is stringy, watery, and soggy. I have never seen lettuce in a burrito from a Mexican restaurant (Chipotle does not count, and even their lettuce is crispier), and it does absolutely nothing for the burrito. My experience was not your average occasion. I was looking for a place to cater some churros for a taco party and luckily I found that Corazon had a variety of churro flavors to choose from! I ordered online on their website for pickup on a Wednesday evening. We ordered the chocolate, strawberry, and bavarian cream churros. Each order came with 4 pieces. The churros weren't the typical ones I am familiar with, where from my experience there are usually served with dipping sauces, but I actually liked the filling, which made for a less messy dessert. They were quite tasty and very FRESH and CRUNCHY. Our favorites were the bavarian cream and chocolate flavors. Unfortunately, we found that a few of the bavarian cream churros did not have any filling in them. It looks like they may have forgotten to fill a few of them, but even without filling, they tasted pretty good. I think I would be open to checking out their full menu on a different occasion. The reviews for this place were good, so we gave it a try. It's a nice place to sit down for dinner, but we came close to closing and grabbed food to go. I'm not sure if it was the time we showed up, but the quality of meat (Carne Asada) was subpar - you can't mess up Carne Asada! Unfortunately, there were fatty/chewy to non edible pieces of meat. The rice and beans in the burrito tasted OK but also seemed like filler. The proportions of meat, rice, beans were off. You may see in my photo - Limited pieces of meat on the left side of the burrito and the rest was filled with rice and beans. It was a super burrito but the crema seemed non-existent as it was soaked up in the rice/beans. If it wasn't for some of their salsa verde to pour onto the burrito, it would have been really dry. It seems long were the days where chips automatically came with your meal. Although there are still some establishments that continue to give a small bag of complimentary tortilla chips. So, we asked. Given it was near closing and the chips may go to waste, it felt like a missed opportunity to offer a small gesture of hospitality. Something simple like that can make a big difference in how guests feel welcomed. Unfortunately, there wasn't alot of meat to begin with but on top of that, some pieces were not even edible. I'm obsessed with this place! It's tucked away in the middle of a shopping center on Fremont and Mary and the food is always amazing in terms of taste and looks and Is always plentiful. I eat here about 3 times a week and I'm slowly trying all the different types of meat. I love the tender shredded chicken and the Asada is OMG juicy chunks of flavorful steak! Not at all like the tough overcooked and thin meat scraps you get at other taquerias. The pork Pibil is similar to the shredded chicken in texture and wonderfully flavored as well. I got the Tortilla soup on a rainy day and it hit the spot. Making me look forward to more rainy days! The inside is decorated so cheerfully and my favorite is the little piñata planters on each table! So adorable! I ordered some delivery for my parents tonight and they were blown away by their chile Rellano and enchiladas Suizas. They absolutely loved the chips and freshly made guac too! Two more satisfied long term customers! I love that they always start my Horchata the second I walk in. It's creamy and delicious a never has that gritty texture at the bottom. Yum! Sleepy little resturant that was definitely a surprise. Their menu is full of surprises. As you walk in the decor was homie and full of Mexican flare. The staff was amazing very helpful answering all our menu questions. We ordered several items to try out the menu. We started with the chips and salsas. The salsa were all flavorful, the chips were crispy but lacked taste. You have to ask for the habanero salsa, not typically handed out. We moved on to the main dishes. The 3 tacos platter allowed us to try multiple meat options, including Chicken Oaxaca, Carnitas, and Pork Pibil. Our favorite was the flavorful Chicken Oaxaca, then Carnitas, and lastely the Pork Pibil (Not much taste on this one). The tortillas were grilled with a nice char. The rice and beans were all good and had nice taste and texture. The tamal rojo was done prefectly and had a good taste. The enchilada was just okay, wouldn't order that again. My gauge for a good Mexican restaurant is their salsas. The ones here didn't skimp on their chilli usage and I was a happy customer. Yelp check in gets a free basket of chips with two salsas. We tried- **Chicken tacos-4/5-delicious chicken and toppings but the amount of fat visible between the two tacos was insane. **Mole poblano-4/5- I was excited for this one as the description on the menu was very enticing. 30 ingredients in a made from scratch complex sauce with chocolate and dry and roasted chillies. The versions I tried before were always sweet and I am not particularly fond of sweetness in my savory dishes. Unfortunately the version here was sweet as well but the mole was a lot smoother and more palatable than other places. **Quesadilla-4/5-kids got this and reported it was decent. **Burrito-3/5- average burrito, missed some heat. This was our first and unfortunately our last visit. From the moment we walked in, there was no greeting, no welcome, and no offer of assistance. When I had questions, the responses felt rushed and like we were inconveniencing them. The food looked great, but that's where the good news ended -- it was cold and tasted as if it had been reheated instead of freshly made. As a Hispanic customer, I hoped to feel a sense of warmth and hospitality, but instead it seemed like other guests received better attention and service. Been here several times to grab lunch while visiting family. The food has always been on point, salsas spicy, and the staff always friendly and courteous. But today I stopped in to pick up a pre-Super Bowl meal. I decided to go with something different than my usual order and tried their mole poblano. I was blown away. This little Mexican restaurant is hidden in a sleepy shopping center at the corner of Mary & Fremont. It's in the same shopping center as Smart & Final and Starbucks. Easy parking, it's always plentiful. I've been coming here for years even though it's a bit of a drive when there are closer options. The lady at the counter is always friendly and nice. There are several tables inside, a mix of high and low tables. Restrooms are in the back. I'm always surprised how empty they are, even around noon on a Friday. You won't have any trouble getting a table. I've only stopped by for lunch, so maybe they get more crowded in the evenings. Their Super Burrito is my usual go to. They have all the usual stuff you'll find at a taqueria : tacos, burritos, enchiladas. Wow they're open till midnight Thursday -Sunday! I was looking for a place to get a burrito late at night and this place came up. I've had enchiladas, tamales and tacos here before. Everything is really tasty. Today I got the al pastor burrito and added pico de gallo and lettuce. The portion is great for the price and I liked that they grill the burrito. My husband was happy with his wet burrito. You can choose from mild red sauce or spicy green sauce. Service was great and friendly as always. The vegan options here are very bad. I ordered a veggie burrito and it had mixed vegetables in it, which was off putting. The meat options are better but still pretty basic. We got the wet burrito with grilled chicken. Also tried their nachos, they were decent but used shredded cheese, I definitely prefer the classic yellow nacho cheese, but that's a personal preference. Long story as short as I can: ordered 2 tacos, 1 kids quesadilla meal and 1 super burrito for pick up. Checked in at 6:26pm on Saturday night. Received: soggy cold pork over disintegrated tortillas, cold dry chunks of steak on stale tortillas, a quesadilla containing cold cheese and dry shredded pork, a room temp mixture of toppings and meat in a soggy tortillas and terrible customer service. I normally come here and would rate it 3.5-4, but tonight, a 0. They could've turned off uber orders (& other services) so that they could serve food of integrity with good customer service, but they didn't and blamed the "new worker" that just started. We recently tried Corazon and have decided it is now one of my favorite places for Mexican food in the area. I tried the taco bowl with shrimp and it had just the freshest ingredients and the shrimp was cooked so flavorful. I love how it just wasn't drowning in oil. But also, it is deng huuuuge. You can probably feed 2-3 people with that taco bowl. It also definitely tasted healthier than some other Mexican food spots I've been to. My husband loved his carne asada burrito. Even said it was probably the best he's had. My daughter, who can be picky sometimes, loved her quesadilla and even the Spanish rice. We loved their little outdoor patio in the front too and the staff were so friendly. It was very cute and well-kept. This review is for the new management at Corazon in 2024. My family has ordered takeout from Corazon at least twice a month for the past four years. The last few times we've ordered, the food quality has gone down, the online menu options have decreased, and the recipes are just different. This goes for all the dishes we and our kids order. I called and spoke to a staff member in Spanish who told me she could neither confirm nor deny whether the restaurant was under new management. Which means yes. She did say they had a new chef. That explains things in our food that weren't there before, or vice versa. Thumbs down all the way. We will need to find a new go-to authentic Mexican place. read more
