This is one of the best restaurants I've tried in the past few months. I walk by this place all the time so we decided to give it a try. We went on a weeknight at the end of the night and were the only ones in there. The restaurant is very cozy and cute. Everything was an absolute hit. We ordered the crab cakes, fish dip, scallop & pork belly, surf + turf burger and key lime pie. Every single thing was a 10/10. Service was nice and gave us excellent recommendations. This place is so cute! Loved that it was inside and outside. We were seated by Francisco right away to a table that overlooked the restaurant and the outside. We ordered the fish wings and they were delicious! The sauce is house made and it had an amazing flavor. I have wanted to visit Stiltsville Fish Bar for a few years and Miami Spice 2025 was the perfect time. We went on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was very quiet. From the Miami spice menu, I selected the conch fritters, the shrimp and grits, and the Keylime pie. Maria provided pleasant and efficient service. My friend ordered the grilled mango salad for her appetizer. It was presented beautifully and tasted divine and was big enough to share. My conch fritters were all conch and very little filler and were served with a spicy horseradish sauce which I could've eaten by the spoonful. The shrimp and grits included sausage, melted tomatoes, and a beer demi-glaze. These may be the best grits I've had. The presentation of the Keylime pie was nice, it was topped with whipped cream and toasted coconut. We locked out with a parking space right across from the restaurant and parking was discounted for the month of September. I recommend Stiltsville Fish Bar for anyone visiting Miami Beach. read more

We had a good experience last night at Stiltsville. We easily found PayByPhone parking across the street. The bar was a bit busy after the Miami boat show, so we just got wine, although the cocktails list sounded good. The interior is decorated somewhat industrial and modern. There are several beautiful fish scale chandeliers to complete the decor along with a full size tube with ice and fresh fish for one to chose from. We sat at a cozy petite table outside and had Kevin as our server. He was attentive and was very efficient. Thank you Kevin! We decided on the catch of the day: crispy hogfish with mashed potatoes. I ate every bit of it, it was soft inside but crispy on the outside, not overly fried. The 2 accompanying sauces were delicious. My husband had the hogfish sandwich and loved it as well. Pleasantly surprised! This was my first lunch during Miami Spice and I don't regret it. Now based on the images online, we were expecting a different set up - it looked like it was on the water but gave more of an elevated pub vibe across from a marina in Sunset Harbor. It was slow on a Monday so the bartender doubled as our server; attentive and personable. For $35, we enjoyed 3 courses and my friend had a promotion for a complimentary glass of rose or wine. I started with the crab cake - as a DMV native I'm particular about crab cakes but this one hit the spot. It was a nice size which is uncommon for a starter and it was delicious. They were out of the Fishtail sandwich but I was able to sub it with the Crispy Hogtail and it was so good! Flaky, perfect pickled veggies and well seasoned. Ending with the coconut key lime pie, I enjoyed it but it was a little too tangy to finish the whole thing. Came here a few times and each time - WOW! They are super creative when it comes to seafood - they definitely know what they're doing. The fish wings are amazing and its a huge order or order wisely. They had a special of the day with a hogfish and it was delicious. We also got the hamachi with popcorn - super creative combination - the textures and tastes were unforgettable. Ad the ceviche - super fresh and flavorful! Lastly, we ordered the deviled eggs and they were also good but on the smaller side - little pops of flavor. Came in for their Miami Spice dinner special and it was pretty fantastic. The ceviche and conch fritters were so good! For mains we had the fried chicken with a crispy seasoned batter that was not overly fried and had a great taste. We also had the fried grouper sandwich that was pretty big and had chunks of white fish. Very good. For dessert we went with the key lime pie tart and chocolate cake skillet with a scoop of coconut ice cream. I was seated right away and our waiter surprised us with a Guava Daiquiri to try for our drinks. They taste so good and I would love to have it again. For my main I ordered the American Root breakfast that comes from scrambled eggs with grits and chicharrón plus mini waffles. It was good but I really enjoyed the chicharrón texture it was crispy yet tender. The eggs were perfectly cooked but lacked seasoning. The grits were good and mini waffles were fluffy. My niece ordered the crispy fish sandwich and enjoyed it as well the chips. She said that it was perfectly breaded but lacked seasoning. I took my girlfriend here for a late birthday date because of the great reviews and being seafood lovers we had to try! The service and food was amazing! If you want to try some amazing seafood come to Stiltsville! Before my Miami trip I'm googling menus left and right trying to decide on places I want to try. As soon as I opened the menu I knew this was the place. Very rarely do you see hogfish on the menu and I've only ever seen it in Florida. We sat outside in the covered patio area. Although I'm a regular at Stiltsville I had my best experience today at brunch. Reni was extremely knowledgeable & personable and was able to answer all of my questions about the menu without hesitation. The food never disappoints but today's meal was particularly superb. The fish wings are one of my favorite menu items and I've had them several times but for some reason today's catch was out of this world. And the fact that Reni was able to explain the why's and how's made it that much better of an experience. The conch fritters were phenomenal; not some nonsense cornmeal with a splash of conch, but conch you could taste! My husband and I come here all the time but we brought a first timer with us and were so happy to share this experience with them. I went yesterday with 2 friends for the Kentucky Derby Party event they sponsored and we loved it! They served a pre fixe 5 small plate menu that consisted of a delicious fish dip with homemade chips, the best tuna tartare I have ever tasted, shrimp tacos, and even a generous slice of key line pie. Bar/restaurants can be fun but not all have amazing food. That is where Stiltsville won with me! I loved my mint juleps, made with Jameson and served in a copper tin! My friend was very happy with the margaritas and my other friend sported the Walking on Stilts drink. They had racing games where you would pick a horse from a basket and whoever got the winning horse for that race, won an awesome prize! Of course will all wore our Sunday attire with derby hats. It was fun to dress up and congratulations yo the young lady who won the hat contest. We met and spoke with the owners who came by a few times to see how we were doing. It was a pleasure to meet such a lovely couple. The ambience was perfect, a mix of both young and older, but everyone was having a great time. I saved the best for last. Our server Jason! Between both days, we ordered: Buffalo fish wings - 10 out of 10 for sure. Unique idea to use the whole fish - it's meaty and packed with flavor Smoked fish dip - It's light and delicious coupled with their house made chips and pickled onions and peppers - finger-licking good Sweet corn spoon spread - this was pretty meh. Didnt like the texture and the taste fell flat. Tiradito - super fresh, light and paired perfectly with the ripe avocado and the popcorn and hominy added such a different and unexpected touch and flavor. Genius dish! Scallops & pork belly - this was unexpectedly rich with the most perfectly seared scallops, which are my favorites. It has amazing Asian flare with the pok choy and rich soy sauce. Caviar deviled eggs - they were good but nothing to write home about. The following day for brunch, we had the smoked fish dip (yes, again lol). My wife ordered the fish sandwich. Wish I could share if it was good but judging by how she devoured it and I didn't even get to sniff it, I would say it was damn good, lol. I ordered a sort of crab french toast. Now hear me out - it was BANGIN'! I wasnt sure what to expect but the sweetness of the bread caught me off guard and the richness of the béchamel sauce was INSANE. Unfortunately, I cannot remember what the name of the dish is and even worse, cannot find it listed on the brunch menu. I promise, however, it is there, and it is definitely enough of a portion to share with two people. Beyond the food being absolutely delicious this place is so chill and vibe. Stopped in for a late lunch/ early dinner with a fairly large group of people. We ordered appetizers, some mains, desserts, and drinks. The appetizers were ok we found that most of the food was lacking salt and seasoning. The tuna tartar and ceviche were good but many of us did not find the fish wings or crab cakes to be tasty. The food also took an insanely long time to come out even though we were a decent sized party the rest of the restaurant was virtually empty. From the time we placed the order for our mains ( two burgers and a fish sandwich) it took approximately 30-45 minutes. When the burgers and sandwiches came out they also lacked seasoning and flavor. The fries were good so was the lemon aioli that that was about it for the mains. The desserts and coffee also took extremely long to come out. We got to the restaurant at about three and did not leave until about 6:30 to give perspective on the time. The drinks were good but I probably wouldn't return. read more

Great happy hour in sunset harbor. We came here around 6pm on a Monday and it was relatively busy. It was a rare cold night in Miami so we opted to sit inside. The interior is nice, but also feels casual. We ordered the tacklebox for two, the fish wings and the watermelon salad. If you enjoy fresh seafood, this is the place to be. The tacklebox came with a decently sized portion of lobster that was excellent, along with shrimp, tuna ceviche and oysters. The fish wings were a unique and had great flavor. I don't think we'll be making this restaurant 1 of our go to's anyone even though we supported them weekly during the pandemic! We decided this even before us having to pull over , on our drive home , as we both immediately felt the runs coming on ! horrible!!! I Don't know which it was from ,which is scary ,but we think it was from the bad shrimp or the mahi sandwich. I had a bite of the arugula salad that accompanied it and there was so much dressing on it, I spit it out into my napkin. How could everything be so bad today ?! At this point I reached over and just shared his lemongrass fries which we love. Even these were so salty I had to take the paper napkins from under my glass and wipe each one before I ate it! I should've taken a picture of how much salt came off them , it was ridiculous! I'm not sure if there was a fill in cook that day , but I did see chef McInnis outside the restaurant! I would've mentioned all of this to him, personally, but i didn't see him when we left. We had also ordered the shrimp and grits because we love it so much there. We both had a 1/2 of a bite of a piece of shrimp and knew something was wrong! He thought it was the quality of the shrimp and didn't eat anymore. ( this is very rare for my husband as he grew up in New England and is a huge Seafood lover! I have never seen him leave any type of Seafood untouched!). I thought the shrimp looked beautiful and the dish looked delicious , as always, So I took a piece of shrimp . I bit into it , and unfortunately, swallowed it since I had already spit the salad dressing bite into my napkin . The shrimp felt and tasted "gel -ly". My first reaction was that it wasn't cooked all the way through, but now I think the shrimp was bad. We didn't touch another bite of the shrimp. We did eat most of the rest of the dish. ( see pic for details). I was still hungry, so I took another bite of my mahi fish sandwich . It didn't taste good at all. I ate a few more fries and went back 1 more time to the fish sandwich to see if it was just that part of the fish , but it still tasted bad, so left it. I NEVER leave food on my plate at a restaurant! ( I was raised where we had to eat everything on our plate before we were excused from the dinner table. My dad would tell us that people were starving around the world, and our mother worked in the kitchen all day, preparing the food for us, and we needed to eat it. This unfortunately has stuck with me causing great feelings of guilt when I see people leaving a lot food on their plates! ) I'm also a big "foodie" ( I have a separate Instagram page dedicated just to food ) and a food blog. I usually only order and dine at restaurants where I know the food will be great and I always take the remainder to go! You can see once again from my pics how much of the fish sandwich was left behind as well as the whole plate of shrimp and arugula salad. I am so disappointed that we had this experience today , as this has always been a "go to "restaurant for us. We even pay a lot extra to upgrade the fish sandwich to grouper when they have it and live for their triple tail! To be honest, though , the last few times we've dined here , hadn't been the same. Besides the bad experience with the food, today , the fact that we both immediately got the runs from it will now keep us from recommending or returning to this restaurant. We loved our Stiltsville experience on a Friday night in April! Our server was very friendly and attentive. The martinis were fabulous, as were the fresh oysters. The half dozen oysters were $24 so if you're on a budget, def ask about the market price before ordering. I loved seafood so I couldn't pass up ordering the grilled octopus. (which comes with spanish chorizo, blackened maduros, smoky plantain puree, salsa verde & cilantro). It was so good, honestly my mouth is watering just thinking about it lol. Terrible first impression -- we didn't even stay to eat. We had a reservation for a regular table, but when we arrived, the hosts tried to seat us at a high-top instead. We waited about 10 minutes, looked around, and saw how dirty the place was. They were also out of half the items on the menu. When we decided to leave, I explained the situation to the hostess -- she didn't say a word, just let us walk out. The funniest part? Forty minutes later, they called asking where we were. Seriously? Of course there's a bucket of fresh fish packed in ice by the bar ( which is well stocked BTW). Choose anything it's all fantastic ( see photos) from oysters to stone crabs to mango salad to grilled tuna with a first ever pineapple fried rice - nice! If you manage to save room go for the carrot cake - though good luck getting there. Service is warm and friendly and if you go for the whole fish they filet at your table. This place is a gem. We ordered 2 fresh hog snappers and it cost this 2 1.75 LBS Hog Snapper$154! It's just not worth it! It was tasty, yes but not $154 worth. Also, everything is overstated. Who ever on the frying station, please take it easy. Total bill, for 1 appetizer, 3 drinks, 2 fish, 1 dessert , with all fees and taxes and tips $330. I had a decent meal here a couple of years ago, but my experience has been soured by relentless marketing emails that I never signed up for. These messages come from their reservation system, and despite multiple attempts to unsubscribe, they keep coming. I've used the unsubscribe feature repeatedly with no effect and even tried calling the restaurant--only to be immediately hung up on. Had the best experience at SFB! Obviously used Yelp for reviews prior to our visit. The pictures of the Sweet Corn Spoon Bread had me drooling. Did not make a reservation & had no issue being accommodated at the table we desired. Was graciously greeted by Jon, who was beyond an excellent server & wonderful guide through the menu. We sat outside and it was the perfect blend of intimate seating while still being able to talk to people passing by. The interior was clean and inviting too! After listening to our likes & dislikes, Jon encouraged me to try the large Stone Crab Claws & they were AMAZING! He also suggested the Seared Tuna which was so fresh. I got to try the buffalo fish wings, smoked fish dip, deviled eggs & caviar, chilled watermelon & pickle salad, conch fritters, stone crabs, sweet corn spoon bread, and a roasted whole fish. I recommend the buffalo fish wings, and sweet corn spoon bread. The buffalo fish wings were different, nicely fried and something to try at least once. There is little meat though and I don't recommend it if you are uncomfortable with eating fish bones (these are edible and so are the fins). The sweet corn spoon bread was delicious; so light, fluffy and flavorful. Everything else was pretty good. I would skip the deviled eggs & caviar (nothing special). I also enjoyed all the cocktails I had: sunset harbor, hotel nacional and landmark highball. Happy hour is weekdays 3-7pm and they offer $8 stone crabs during happy hour on Thursdays only.
