Being directionally challenged, I usually stumble over places that I'm not looking for. This was the case with Baires. I was looking for lunch after settling into my room near the area from my flight earlier that day. 4am Whataburger and coffee before heading to the airport was GONE. I had searched up places to dine and located one, but omw to the location, I saw the doors to Baires open. I decided to stop in and eat. I will say I was not expecting to spend $50 for lunch, but I'm vacation splurging happens. This steakhouse is posh and woukd make a perfect dinner destination. There were a few people dining when I came. Didnt really notice what they were eating but I eventually went with the lunch sized grilled salmon that had a choice of fries, salad, or rice. I opted for the salad. which came witu a fresh vinagerette. I was surprises by the mutlitude of red onions on the salad. Luckily I live red onion. The bread provided prior to my entree delivered to my table was baked fresh. Salmon was grilled to perfection but coukd have used a lottle morr seasoning. Medium Well, the salmon was not dried out and was a nice sized portion for lunch. My server was attentive and checked on me tbrougjout the meal. Cant ask for anything more- except maybe a little heads up on the automatic service fee. Being out of state, that's not a thing in Texas collectively unless you're at a really popular location. In Miami, I've noticed the auto 20% charge which is cool if this is to ensure the waitstaff get paid, but who really knows if they do, so I actually like to tip in cash and give it directly to the waitstaffer, which is what I did at Baires. My waiter was so appreciative of the tip, which made me haopy to see. I enjoyed the experience and treating myself to a sit down meal, which is typically rushed or on the run on my day to day life. Coming here, enjoy the atmosphere and waistaff being attentive to your dining experience. Check it out during lunch just to get a feel for the place. read more

This restaurant was super close to our hotel, and such a great find! I made a reservation for 2 for 6:15pm on a Sunday, and it was fairly empty. Probably on the early side for dinner in Miami. The interior is very beautiful without feeling like you have to be super dressed up. It is also fairly quiet. There is a small outdoor patio area out front too. The service was great. I had an espresso martini ($19), which was very good and you can choose between vodka or tequila. I ordered a ham and cheese grilled empanada - grilled was actually so good, but I should've went with the waiter's recommendation to get the beef one because it was sooo cheesy, but still good. We shared the parradilla for 2, which was an assortment of short rib, flank steak, skirt steak, sausage, blood sausage, chicken, and crispy shortbreads (beef heart gland). You choose 2 sides, so we got grilled vegetables and grilled asparagus. I also got the short rib agnolotti in a cream sauce (au gratin style) - VERY good, heavy dish, and unique!! Amazing dining experience on a Saturday night! This is the first time I come to this Baires location since they were on Lincoln Road before, and let me say, wow! What an upgrade! They have indoor and outdoor seating, as soon as you walk in, you are greeted by a very nice host, who walks you to your table. The staff are very nice, attentive and on top of everything...bringing bread to the table, drinks, and changing out your plates for new ones etc. almost like they are machines lol! It's great though, love the attentiveness. They also had a duo playing live music, it was so lovely and they played great music. The food: We ordered... Tuna Tartare Pear Salad 16 oz Ribeye Mashed potatos Blood sausage Regular Sausage Panqueques for dessert Spicy Margarita Margarita Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing!!! Food seemed inconsistent, I've visited and dined at few of their locations but this one seems to be missing flavors or maybe was just an off night. Meats were not seasoned and not cooked well. Great place. Went here on a friend's recommendation and it didn't disappoint. The drinks were strong and the appetizers set the perfect tone for the meal. I especially loved my French Onion soup. The food is excellent and the atmosphere very inviting. The service was generally good and attentive. What set them apart from others was my steak was overcooked and without question they made a new one and replaced it. The restaurant also doesn't do automatic 20% unless a party larger than 6. I appreciated that and tipped them over 20% without any bullying that we have experienced at other places. The Ribeye was excellent and the risotto extremely flavorful. I would recommend this restaurant to others. Also the prices aren't as high as other places in South Beach that offer less for more. read more

Had dinner here for our last night on Miami Beach. The atmosphere is wonderful. A steakhouse that is light and airy with plenty of visual niceties. We each had a cocktail, a Manhattan and an Old Fashioned, and they were the best cocktails we had on our trip. Opted against any appetizers because we were not that hungry but did each have the pichana. My husband had a Caesar salad and I had the baked potato as sides. As we waited for our meals to come out we enjoyed the warm bread basket with fresh rolls. The steaks came out, cooked to perfection and their chimichuri sauces were perfect accompaniments. The steaks came in at 16oz so that with the sides were more than enough for us and we did not indulge in dessert. The next time in the City I will definitely be coming back because the food and atmosphere was great and the price better than most places on South Beach. I had an awesome meal here! Came with an Argentinian friend, and she looked around and said this is very legit menu and spot, and many of the diners are definitely from Argentina. I loved my milanesa - beef of course, and fried (you have an option for a grilled one here I guess). I knew I was going to love it bc I love fried breaded meat with cheese looooool. Live music was awesome, and my friend knew a lot of the songs which was fun! I of course know nothing and was just along for the ride. In short: Overall, while the place is not "high class" expensive, it certainly is above your regular "roadside joint" grill; but comparatively, I feel most "roadside joints" around would have given us a better grill... And this is an Argentinian restaurant. Messing up "un asado" should probably be a criminal offense down there, punished by exile/revocation of nationality (maybe that's how they ended up in Miami?). To be clear: it's not "bad", but it is not "good"... And it's not really that expensive, either, it's just that you are definitely not really getting what you're paying for. The server was excellent, though. The Experience: Let's do a play-by-play: My friend made a reservation for four including a pair of her out-of-town co-workers. There were no issues with the reservation, the process went smoothly (and on a Friday Night!). When we got there, we were warmly received and promptly taken to our table. The ambiance is casual, but nice; and kudos to the server who was very good at creating rapport, welcoming us, and presenting us with the options. We order the drinks. My beer was perfect, and, as I understand it, the other guests' drinks were quite good, too. For appetizers, we shared empanadas, sweetbread and blood sausage. While the sweetbread was very good, and the empanadas were decent (yes, they were good, but I would have expected a "gourmet" empanada to be, at a minimum, better than a "bakery" Argentinian empanada)... and here's where the complaints begin: the blood sausage would have been perfect, if not for the cold, cold center. And I mean cold center in a blood sausage. Cold. As a reminder: I do not send back food unless it is inedible, sometimes the restaurants end up throwing away perfectly good food and that's wasteful, so, yes, I ate my cold-centered blood sausage. Besides, by now, there was still enough goodwill with the service and the sweetbread and the drinks to still have faith in them. Main courses: I shared half my asado de tira (side of mashed potatoes) with my friend and in turn I got half of the picaña (side of baked potato. we didn't share the sides, so I don´t know how it was), and the other two people in the party ordered two different cuts at different done-ness levels and they came messed up. I did not try those, so I can't say how good or bad they were, but the one who had ordered it rarer had to give hers to the one who wanted it more cooked, and had to get another dish for herself because the remaining one wasn't, according to her, edible. My asado de tira wasn't... you know there's a flavor you get when the fat of the meat isn't exactly right? Well, that's all I can say: the cooking was good, but the flavor had that. I´t nos bad, it's not spoiled at all, but it is not on point. The picanha was lacking a bit on the flavor side, too, but it was cooked on point, as it should. It came with chimi-churri, which was pretty good, but the chimi-churri should be an added flavor to the meat, not a replacement. For desert, we got the crepe filled with dulce de leche. Here, it's my bad, and I'll aknowledge it: it was me who was expecting the full show that nobody promised. So I was a bit disappointed when here was no server with the Crêpes Flambé coming in to the table, putting it out and warning us "it's hot, let it cool down". There was just a regular already-flambéed crêpe. But. It. Was. Delicious! Although I feel there was more good than bad in this experience, they failed precisely on what I'm the least forgiving about, so I don´t think I'll be giving them another visit. read more

We went to this place for my daughter's bday, for first time since they relocated from Lincoln road. We started at the bar with some drinks and snacks taking advantage of the happy hour menu. Then we had dinner - we all have different steaks cuts . Steaks were cook to perfection. The service was excellent, they were amicable and attending to the details. The place's design is beautiful, very stylish and formal, but still the ambience is very relaxing. Prices are reasonable for being in South Beach and there a quality food and service. Four for dinner. Two of us shared a bottle of Argentina Pinot Noir- dryer then the CA variety but good. We also shared a paella. The only problem with the paella was some crunchy grit, presumably from the mussels. Not in every bite - thank goodness! The other two each had a fish dish- one salmon and one branzino. They both liked their fish. Someone had the chicken veggie soup said it was good. The caprese was meh. Under ripe tomatoes tasteless drizzle on top- green, maybe made of basil?
