Pieces of salad, burnt fried shrimp, and stale chips.
    Yareli D.

Food was super stale and old. Right away I could tell the chips were old and when I tried them they were stale and cold. When I told the server she went to the back and brought us the same old chips. The food was decent but I could taste that it was just recently frozen and old. The fried shrimp was burnt and my salad was already rotting. Not to mention we were literally the only people here.. Wouldn't eat here ever again.

Came here recently and had to try the tacos. The server was really helpful kind and attentive to all our needs. Tacos were delicious with the tortillas perfectly crispy on the outside and the shrimp and cheese combo was perfectly salty and seasoned. Will definitely come back.

Food is good and the place is clean. Service is good too. I got pulpo al ajillo and I really liked it.

So my boyfriend and I were originally planning to go to the infamous tacos los cholos in Anaheim but the lines and crowd were ridiculously long so I hopped on Yelp to see what other substitutes we could find open late in the area. I stumbled upon El Centenario Grill Y Seafood and was sold as they served my favorite mariscos dish; Pescado Zarandeado. Upon arriving at the establishment on a Saturday at 10:30pm the restaurant was nearly empty apart from an old couple eating and a private party singing karaoke. I love a lively atmosphere so their little karaoke session actually added to my visit but may be of annoyance to other guests. Our server was quite accommodating and served us our drinks and food to us within a timely manner. My pescado zarandeado was good and well marinated and my boyfriend enjoyed his wet asada burrito. I ordered a tequila sunrise as well as a strawberry margarita that they serve in slushy form. Overall El Centenario is a solid seafood joint I'd recommend to anyone in the area looking for mariscos though I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return. 3.5/5

Shrimp empanadas... I didn't scoop it out. This is how they look after 2 bites. Not much filling.

I am giving them 2 stars because I may have chosen the wrong dish. Maybe their other dishes are good, but the caldo de camarón and shrimp empanadas were not good at all. The caldo had no flavor and it had a ton of potatoes, which is new to me. It had a ton of other vegetables as well, not a lot of shrimp. Half of my shrimp were peeled and cleaned, half were not. Pretty disappointing since there weren't many left after taking out the potatoes. The shrimp empanadas were mainly dough and not a lot of flavor. The sauce included in the empanadas tasted like ketchup. I will probably not come back to this place.

Worst ceviche ever I came extra raw, smelled and tasted fishy, and the taste itself was rotten

Hunting for a breakfast burrito on Easter Sunday was a challenge. The other two spots we went to were closed, but we discovered this gem. Large restaurant with lots of seating to accommodate big families. Felt like I was transported out of Santa Ana right when you step in. Music was great and perfect for that happy dance you do when you eat good food. Plenty of tvs around to ensure no one misses the game. Even the cook in the back has their own tv. Menu is expansive and all of it sounded so good. Beer and some cocktails too. We played it safe due to our last night drinking escapade and we really wanted a dang burrito. I wanted all of their ceviche options. They have some breakfast items that are available until noon. We got the breakfast burrito, shrimp taco, and fish taco. The lady that took our order recommended something about the tacos to change them with cheese etc. I heard mini quesadilla and I trusted her. We ordered to go and only waited around 10 min. Came home and it was like opening up a present. The breakfast burrito was good. My gf liked it way more but she was also the one that needed a breakfast burrito. The tacos I got were bomb. Don't skip the shrimp. That was my favorite one. Definitely will be back to try their other options. I want to sit down next time and enjoy the atmosphere as well.

Mariscos Centenario had been on my bookmarks for a long time because my bf loves ceviche and theirs had good reviews. This is a true mom and pop Mariscos restaurant and it's pretty big. On Fridays and Saturdays they have mariachis that come sing at your table as well as karaoke so it was really loud but provides a very specific atmosphere. We split a Michelada which tasted great and was very refreshing. Their salsa is spicy and we enjoyed the chips. My bf is very picky about his ceviche and we both enjoyed the Ceviche Mixta Lupita. The fact that he liked it says a lot. Fresh seafood is mixed with mayo which sounded iffy to me but it was an interesting way to eat it, and I appreciated the seasoned cucumber slices on the side which I used from time to time instead of chips. The seafood was plentiful and fresh. There weren't too many tomatoes which I appreciated. I recommend sticking to the seafood here. We split the Carne Asada con Camarones Platillo Mexicano which came with a large piece of steak, about 6 grilled shrimp, rice, beans and tortillas. Everything lacked seasoning and flavor but once we added salt, salsa, and wrapped it all up in the tortilla it was a lot better. The Empanadas de Camaron were not good at all. The green salsa served with it was awesome, but there was hardly any shrimp filling, the inside was a bit undercooked, and the shell was filled with grease. With many other Mariscos options I would probably go somewhere else first but if we find ourselves in the area again I would be ok coming back.

Late meal, hidden place! Pros: chef notice us as we walked in and sent the waitres right away! Chef on top of things! Deserves a raise, Pronto! Waitres very attentive, great customer service, frequently checking if all of our needs where met. Restaurant very spacious, but needs an update on interior asap. Food was delivered to our table very promptly. Everything tasted really good. Cons: bathrooms were very dirty! Bad odor, toilets over flow with tissue paper, and it wouldn't flushbecause of this we rated this place 3 stars. I'm not posting a picture of the bathroom because it's really stinky , it would make me sick Not sure if I would come back

    Chicken enchiladas

Visiting el centenario grill y seafood, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service and lively atmosphere. The staff was not only fast but also polite, making the dining experience enjoyable. The open karaoke on Friday added a fun touch, creating a vibrant ambiance. As for the food, the enchiladas were delicious, not too bland and not too many spices. Overall this place is a great if you want to have casual Mexican food. I would recommend.

This place does ceviche and seafood right. It's kinda hidden away in an industrial area, next to a Wienerschnitzel but don't let that scare you away. Inside was spacious and authentic looking and the server who helped us was so friendly. She had a smile the whole time we were there and made sure everything was ok. The cool drinks were so refreshing, I'm definitely gonna crave this more during summer. The ceviche we got had octopus, shrimp and crab with some sliced cucumbers on the side and avocado on top, although I do think the crab was imitation crab based on the taste, color and texture. It was seasoned well - perfect tangy lime with cilantro aromas flowing through..mmm! The stuffed fish fillet was very unique. It was a fish fillet wrapped around cooked shrimp, octopus, crab and some vegetables. It came with salad and rice on the side and the chipotle sauce that was served with it was probably the best chipotle sauce I've tried (I haven't tried many authentic Mexican sauces before so it's not hard to impress me in that field, though). My bf and I came out stuffed and we can eat quite a lot. For the quantity the price was reasonable and with the kind & fast service it is super reasonable. If you're looking for a good ceviche place, this is the place to go.

    Garnish that comes with fajitas.

The photos caught our eye, but they don't even do justice to the actual experience. The modest facade completely hides the gem buried within; the moment you step through the doors, you are transported into a beautiful, vibrant atmosphere. Despite arriving just before 7:00 PM on a busy Saturday night, we were seated incredibly fast. We had the absolute pleasure of being served by Karla (with a 'K'). Her enthusiasm, attentiveness, and deep knowledge of the menu were top-notch--truly a model for how the entire service industry should operate. As for the food? Out of this world. From the presentation to the flavor, the attention to detail is flawless. It is completely clear that Rosa Madera was created by someone with immense vision and heart, and they've managed to find a staff that shares that exact same passion. We are so hooked that we will absolutely be making the trip back from San Diego with the sole purpose of eating here again. In the meantime, my friends and family are going to get sick of me over the next few days, because I refuse to shut up about this place!

Thanks to Restaurant Week, we stumbled upon this gem, and we are so grateful. The hospitality alone would earn five stars. But then came the food. The tacos? Absolutely exceptional. The steak was tender and flavorful in a way that reminded me of eating throughout Mexico, you could actually taste the meat. A light, gentle pickle of vegetables on top, minimal cheese, nothing heavy or greasy. These are not the American-style tacos drowning in a pound of melted cheese. These are the real thing. The beans were lovely, the rice was solid, and my passion fruit winearita drink was genuinely a treat. Restaurant Week gave us the perfect low-pressure reason to try somewhere new, and we walked out with a new favorite. We'll be back for lunch. We'll be back for dinner. To make matters worse, one of our meals was completely forgotten. The service was extremely slow throughout the entire visit. Every time we needed something, whether it was a refill, an update, or assistance, the wait felt excessive. The restaurant may have potential because the food itself was flavorful, but it seemed like they were either understaffed or unprepared for the number of customers they had. Another disappointment was the drink selection. We were told they don't have a liquor license, so hard alcohol isn't available. Their sodas were canned, and when we asked for juice for the kids, they told us they were completely out. As for the atmosphere, the restaurant is on the smaller side and felt more like a converted house than a traditional restaurant, complete with a fireplace and television in the dining area. The food had good flavor, which is the only reason I'm giving more than one star. Unfortunately, the long wait times, missing meal, lack of drink options, and poor service made the overall experience disappointing.
