I can tell you we started with fried mushrooms and they were incredible. They were hot and battered perfectly. Add Ranch and I was in heaven. They served it with gravy also-which is a must. Do you ever look back at your visit and wish you had eaten more of something? That's me with the mushrooms, but I was trying to be lady like so I only ate a few. I got chopped beef sirloin that was smothered in onions and brown gravy & fried okra and they serve it with this muffin like roll. It was all so good. The quality of the meat was great and that deep brown gravy compliments the entire dish....grilled onions....oh man...take me back! Let me just tell you my little southern heart was in heaven. Their onion rings are amazing also. The chicken fried steak was great. I mean....i had to take bites of my son's plate also. I don't see how you could go wrong here. I love that you go grab your food and go sit yourself down. This place stayed hopping but they were on their game and had the food out so tables were turning quickly. It also came with an incredibly tasty muffin, which we were told was a type of bran muffin. The liver was very thinly sliced and nicely grilled. Sides were generous. We got drinks and my unsweet tea was nicely brewed, which in Texas is expected. Counter staff was friendly and service was quick. The environs are in serious need of an upgrade, which I doubt will happen to keep the prices low. As it is our shared meal and two drinks was about $25. We were very pleased with our meal, the restrooms were clean and easy access, and overall other than extremely dated decor this eatery is a Boerne classic!

The young lady I spoke with on the phone was just as kind and patient as could be. She answered every one of my questions without making me feel rushed, and her manners were absolutely wonderful -- something you do not always come across these days. I believe her name was Ashtin or perhaps Aspen, though I may not be remembering correctly. Regardless, she was such a delight to speak with and made the entire call pleasant from beginning to end. It is rare to find someone so genuinely warm, professional, and helpful. Whoever she is, I hope she is recognized for her kindness and excellent customer service. Young people like her are truly a blessing. After speaking with her, I am even more excited to come in for Mother's Day brunch with my family. We cannot wait to dine there, and if the service over the phone is any indication, I am sure the experience will be absolutely wonderful.

Then he came back to say that they only sell them per pound. Kindly I asked if I can do half a pound... the only answer I got is: is there anything else I can get for you? He ring the pound up and sent me on my happy way. I wanted to try regardless but hello? A sorry or something similar would have been nice. The barbacoa is absolutely delicious! Finger licking delicious! But for one pound all I got is a tiny bit of cilantro with it and a hot salsa and 6 tortillas. Fine... I asked one of the girls if I can get extra cilantro I couldn't really understand her if they charge extra for it. Regardless she went and got it for me. I kind of felt uncomfortable... I saw in the fridge they have green salsa I wanted to try that too. They got it for me with a warning that it is more spicy than the red one I have... no lime... no fixings... maybe I am used to the shops on the south side of San Antonio. We ordered 10 naked wings (1/2 flats and 1/2 drummies) with ranch dipping sauce. They are usually really good. We got 7 drummies and 3 flats with no color on them nor any season salt and 1 small ranch dip. We also both ordered burgers with medium cooks. We both got over cooked burgers. When we brought this to the attention of the server, the only response We got was, "I'm sorry" as he walked away. On our receipt, we were double charged for one drink. W hen my husband told the server, he said because it was a tall. To his credit, he did remove one of those charges. In addition, i think the pickle spear had been chewed on previously. Nasty! For almost $80, you would think there would be at least a kiss with that. Sadly, we'll not be back.
