Inside 3 Tacos Gobernador. Cheesy and spicy. Bomb.

Great spot for great food, drinks and music. The staff were welcoming and the service was great. I ordered the tacos governadores. Spicy mothers but so delicious. Came with a small side salad. The husband ordered a caldo de rez. He said it was one of the best he's ever tried. It came with a small side of rice. Great service as usual. Will visit again soon.

Great little place. Festive floral accented decor. My fish tacos were fresh and grilled nicely. Crisp cabbage and salsa. Hubby got chile verde that had potatoes cooked with it. Tender meat with a vibrant verde sauce. Rice and beans with both. My beer duo Michelada natural with only lemon was a first for me. I enjoyed it. Friendly service. We will visit again.

Absolutamente satisfecha. Sope trío platter de asada, pollo, y chorizo me lleno! Salsa verde was sour n spicy and the red was deliciously smoky n spicy! This black mezcalito con charcoal y cucumber was so refreshing with the agüita . I am pleased! 10/10 returning soon! Clean Pretty Establishment! A Health Rated!

Wanted Mexican food coming home from Vegas. Stop by Bakersfield on the way home and was feeling some Mexican food so stop by this place. This place gets packed. Service was fast and on point. Food was ordered and came out in a timely manner. I ordered the quesabirria and it came out hot and fresh. It was filled with lots of meat. Taco shell was crunchy but a little bland. Add the onion and salsa and it was good. My lady ordered the tostada aquachile. It was huge. Plenty to go around the table. Only complaint about it was a little salty but add the alcohol and it was good. The establishment is lively. Feels like a sports bar with tv around the restaurant.

The vibe was nice, music was good if your Hispanic and like to sing. They have karaoke available. The bartender was fast and cool . Everything was good until the bill came. OVERPRICED, is an understatement. Better off going somewhere else in town. God bless y'all!

Chilito gets popping!!! You just need to know what days they have events, like they have days where they do karaoke night. I went on a Friday night and they had a DJ! You get free tostadas and salsa, they were so goood! They're very famous for their micheladas, SOOO good. I love their special micheladas. I also ordered an AMF and boyyyyy was it loaded, it was almost too strong and I loved it. :) The waiters are so attentive, and they even do the scary monja, it's fun and interactive.

This is a cool place on Brundage. We sat inside. I thought the booths were a little uncomfortable, but the service was excellent. We ordered the wet burrito with Al Pastor pork to split for lunch. There was plenty of food here for both of us. Be aware that there are no complimentary chips and it is not served with rice and beans. It did not matter though. The taste was exceptional. Spicy, but not too spicy. And, the meat was extremely tender. There was plenty here. It looks like there specialty is seafood. We just weren't in the mood, but will definitely try them next time.

Everything i ordered are all good. Juan is the best server. 10 Today I have my mojarra loca. Love it.

Fyi they charge to use card now :-/

What happened to you El Chilito!! The food used to be so good. What a disappointment. I get that everything cost more now but I'm still trying to make sense of how my plate which was mostly cucumber was 27 bucks. The taste was just not there. Also noticed that on a Friday night during lent this place was dead compared to last year. Sadly won't be coming back here. If you want a good michelada then you are in the right spot but avoid the food!! It's trash now unfortunately:(

The food was trash and way over priced also small portions definitely don't recommend coming here!!! They take forever to service and are short staffed looked like they only had one

I used to love this spot but idk what happened. The food and drinks don't taste the same. They had less flavor and were way overpriced now. The service is good. The music and ambience is good too. It's just way too pricey for what you get and it lacks flavor. My aguachiles weren't even spicy at all, didn't taste like lime and it's had mainly cucumber and like 4 shrimps

    What's a michelada?

Mix of juices, mostly tomato based with some spicy but not crazy spicy spices and a beer. Pretty delicious if they mix it right.

First off it was a steady flow of customers for a Wednesday evening. Many birthdays! We were sat immediately and waiter came to take our drink order. I had a mango chamoy margarita, while my husband got a roasted chili cucumber margarita on the rocks. His drink was SPICY! I ordered the shrimp fajitas and my husband ordered the chicken and steak molcajete. Our food was brought out super fast! The portions - humongous! But the food is so good! My husband is super picky when it comes to Mexican food, and he said this molcajete is his favorite so far compared to other Mexican restaurants we've been to. I couldn't really taste the difference between the Paloma and the margarita ‍. The place is decorated really nice but what they should've focused on was making agood food. I'm so glad I only ordered appetizers because had I ordered food I would've wasted so much money. Birria tacos simply taste like red beef tacos, no real authentic flavor. Shrimp skewers I was told was okay but even that had more veggies than actual shrimps. The rice wasn't cooked all the way. The presentation on nachos was excellent but the nachos were gross. No flavor in guacamole. Beans were plain beans bland af. The chicken wasn't seasoned and had an awful charbroiled taste, just awful! The salsa weren't spicy or tasty. I can only recommend this place for a good happy hour spot because prices are outrageous for drinks. Once again they should've focused on the food than the decor.

The place is pretty easy to find on the corner of 18th & R. There isn't a lot of seating for more than parties of 4. We were a party of 6 and we all smooshed into a horseshoe booth inside. There are only 2 of these booths available and they indicated they are not able to place additional seating at the booths. I imagine you might be able to put tables together outside for a larger party. We were greeted warmly, and while I felt overwhelmed by the amazing choices, the gal taking our order put me at ease by walking me through the menu board. We got amazing carnitas quesadillas and tacos and another dish that came on top of a mound of delicious fries. It's the kind of place where you order, then sit down and they bring you the food. We were well taken care of. Our drinks were refilled and they brought us 'to go' boxes. Their portions are generous and just tasty. And the iced tea was perfect! Before my guest even arrived, I was told the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes, which made it impossible to plan or order properly for both of us. About 30 minutes after being seated, the waitress asked to close out my tab and mentioned they were closing an hour and a half early, something that should have been communicated when I walked in so I could have chosen to go elsewhere. To make things worse, about 10 minutes before closing, they turned the lights all the way up and shut the music off, which made it very clear we were being pushed out. No one came by to offer boxes for our food (I had more than half my meal left), and my guest didn't even get to finish her drink. We were essentially rushed out before the already early closing time, with no proper send-off. Overall, the experience felt very unprofessional and uncomfortable. The food was absolutely delicious, which is why I'm leaving this review, but unfortunately the service missed the mark during our most recent visit. We ordered our steak medium rare, but it came out well done. When our server took our order, our appetizers arrived quickly and then our entrees followed, but we had to remind him about the Starry soda that was ordered and never brought out initially. The biggest issue occurred when the Aguachile Ribeye was brought to our table. One of the plates was broken, causing food and sauce to spill all over me and the seat. While the server acknowledged something happened, there wasn't much concern shown about the spill on my shorts, and no replacement plate was offered. A simple apology and a little more attention to the situation would have gone a long way. Later, when we asked for a box for the leftover steak, it took quite a while and I ended up having to remind our server again. Overall, the food was fantastic and is the reason I continue to come back. The kitchen clearly knows what they're doing. However, the service could use some improvement, especially when it comes to attention to detail and handling issues when they arise. I'll still be back because I genuinely enjoy the food, but I hope the service experience improves on future visits.
