Was looking for a Mexican restaurant and this was one that I came across on Google maps I had the fish fajitas and my wife had a two item combo with an ellen and an onion filled enchilada. The fish fajitas fantastic. the fish was great and the vegetables were great as well. this plate included beans with cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo and rice. which were also very tasty. My wife's enchilada was brought to the table with the onions on the outside (she requested that they be in the enchilada. She said that the sauce was the same as the sauce that was on the relleno. The server offered to take the plate back but my wife declined the offer. She was happy with her plate. OvertI would highly recommend the business. I was seated by a very friendly woman but my server was just adequate. He didn't engage much but I did get my food quickly. It was just before 5:00 so the restaurant didn't start filling up until after I was there for a bit. They started with a Fire roasted salsa that was tasty. I ordered the Quesa Fundido. It was okay but not outstanding. They do have some good Happy Hour prices on drinks & food. But according to the flyer you need to sit in the bar for the deals. Found this place this year (2026), have eaten there 3 times and it has yet to disappoint. The prices are amazing, especially happy hour. The food has been consistently good. Service was a bit mediocre one time, but nothing to get upset about (looked like they may have been understaffed on a super busy night). I really want this place to do well. My first time dining at Casa Murillo was for a work lunch. We pretty much filled the entire back seating area. The location is nice with plenty of parking. The inside is festive and upbeat music was playing The staff was quick taking orders, very organized and efficient. Drinks were served fast and food arrived as fast as expected considering our group size. I appreciated the chips and salsa while waiting for my food to arrive. I opted for the enchiladas suizas. They were tasty and full of flavor. The accompanying beans were also delicious. I overheard a colleague say their food portion was a bit small, but I thought it was enough since it was lunch time and nobody wants to go back to a sleepy office. On my way out, I noticed they have a decent sized bar dining area (with jukebox!) which we've already made plans to return to. read more

This place has hatched its name to casa Murillo. The food was good in size for the price. The food was ok nothing spectacular about any of our plates. My cheese enchilada was cold and the beans lacked flavor. The asada burrito was dry however the meat was seasoned well. The other two plates were good however the rice and beans lacked flavor as well. All in all we will not be coming back, it's just not to our liking. Custer service was great refilled drinks and the food came out quick. The ambience was a little worn down but they tried to fix it up as best as they can. read more

Typical americanized fast food. It was good, not great. We went with another couple friend. When we walked in, there was an overpowering smell of incense. As we made our way to the dining area we caught a whiff of food, much better! We were seated quickly. Chips and salsa were good. I went with the mole plate and my wife went with the arroz con pollo. Our friends got the same thing and a taco with fries. Service was awesome. I asked how sweet/chocolatey the mole sauce was and they brought me a cup to sample. Very cool! Food was good. No one raved about it or hated it. This is not somewhere I will not be dieing to come back to but if a friend wanted to meet here for lunch it would be more than fine. read more

Wow! The Sunday Brunch Buffet at Casa Murillo was absolutely wonderful! The staff from top to bottom were all so incredibly friendly and attentive (the man running the omelet/pancake station even offered to bring our pancakes to our table!), and the vast array of different foods (particularly the different styles of meat) were all delicious. But, if you don't drink mimosas, it's definitely not worth the price. Ice tea and lemonade is also included. The service was okay. At first the waitress said the ice tea and lemonade were included and didn't even mention mimosas as an included option. I finally asked her and she's like, yes, you get 3 each. It took her almost 10 minutes to bring the first round. The food was good, but nothing spectacular. Some of it was a little cold. The waiter was amazing. His customer service was awesome. He took care of his in every way my grandson spilled his soda twice and he cleaned it up without hesitation. The food is OK. We have passed by this restaurant several times before coming in on a Sunday. As we pulled into the parking lot, we seen some family friends walking in as well for a birthday party. These folks knew the owner and told us we shouldn't be disappointed with anything inside, hence why they chose this place for a milestone 80th birthday. It took about 3-4 min from the time we walked in, until someone greeted us to seat us at a table. They apologized and were nice about this delay. As we sat down, we were greeted by a young lady who was the hostess but happened to be helping out tables. She came back with a nice gentleman who was our server and he was quick with service, small-talked with us, and was frequent in his checks back with us. As far as the food goes: carnitas we're very tasty, and the plate design was great. My wife ordered creamy enchiladas that she didn't care for. My son ordered menudo and was not wowed, and my daughter was not there. Overall, the price of the food was fair. Great service, and good atmosphere, and great food. read more

I don't know how many times I have driven past this place and have never eaten here. It's right by the church I attend. My mom and I were craving Mexican food and decided we would give this place a try. Upon walking in we were greeted right away by staff and sat quickly. I think we had just beaten the lunch rush. Our waitress got our drink order and who I thought to be the owner or manager passed by to make sure our drink order was taken. The service was fantastic and friendly! I ordered the 2 item combo plate with a Chile relleno, tamale, and rice and beans. Food was hot looked delicious. Our waitress let us know they take the seeds out of the chile relleno. I can't do too spicy. The chile relleno and tamale did have a kick to it. I couldn't finish all of my food, it was a big portion. My mom also got a 2 item combo plate with a chicken enchilada and relleno. We also ordered flan that was so good! My absolute favorite there today was their salsa and chips they served! Anyone who loves Mexican food should eat here. On Sunday from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm they have a buffet filled with over 30 delicious Mexican items. All family recipes. The flan is also a family recipe and is the best I have ever had. The mole sauce is so flavorful. I could put that sauce on anything. A lot of the people working are family members of the owners. Very nice and willing to answer any questions you may have. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a nice ambiance. The drinks were filled and plates were removed right away. We never had to ask even though everyone was busy getting other things done. They work together as a family to make sure every customer is well taken care of. read more

This was my first time at RG, and it was a blast. It was a slow time when we arrived in the late afternoon. Our server was so kind to turn on the heater for us because we wanted to sit outside. The menu had so much to offer for a good price, unfortunately I wasn't too hungry so I will have to try more than rice the next visit. We got checked on often and our drinks were made so quickly! I just ate here. When we walked in, there was an overpowering smell of-sewer. Not a good odor for a restaurant, It's a fairly nice restaurant, fairly good service. My friend and I both ordered Tacos Del Mar, 1 fish taco and 1 shrimp taco. Not much Fish or shrimp in those tacos. Not cheap, not super expensive. The wait staff told us the landlord has failed to correct the problem that causes the smell. Overall, a forgettable dining experience, except for the stench. read more

For the last 6 to 10 months, every time I call to place an order, the phone goes to either a busy signal or voicemail and no one is picking up the phone. No one calls you back. So I went into the restaurant today. I only have a 30-minute lunch, so I like to call ahead for pickup. Regardless, I drive to the establishment only to see a closed sign on the door, but upon further inspection, I see there are ppl inside. I step in and ask if they are open. Only to be told that they are open. I let the cholo personality and demeanor having individual that their sign states they are closed. He goes outside and flips it over to read open. I ask for the manager to inquire why their phones do not pick up or answer. So tells me he is the manager, he asks me to call their number, and it just rings and rings the whole entrance. Very laud. He asked me if anyone had called me back. I tell him no. He began to make all types of excuses as to why they can't take my call in a most of cholo voice. He tells me how they are super busy during the lunch hour. I tell him I take my lunch at 10:15 am, way before the standard lunch hours. His demeanor is not helpful, nor with a sense of even wanting my business. I tell him, Listen, I just won't come back here anymore. If this much work has to be had to order food for takeout from them, it's just not worth it. The food is ok, but if this is how they treat a customer who has been going to them for the last 4 years, then I will just take my busy to another restaurant. read more

Wrong tortillas, didn't bring the chiles toreados and gave attitude when she was told what was missing. And tonight was was a reason why I come here. We get sat super fast our waiter Memo ( sorry if I spelt your name wrong ) came by with chips and salsa and asked if he could get us some drinks. Brings them shortly after and we place our order, my daughter just wanted rice and beans and as she ordered she said under her breath as a joke with fries and laughed. So not too long after our food comes and he sets my daughters plate of rice and beans with a small lil portion of fries with it, he says I knew she wanted them so I had kitchen put some on her plate for her. Totally wasn't necessary to do that but he did and you truly do have fantastic customer service. And also the combo fajitas I got tonight were on point, very tasty. This restaurant has recently changed ownership. It is now called Casa Murillo. We took a seat in the patio and were given some chips and salsa after a bit of a wait but no menus. We waited, waited, waited, and finally after 15- 20 minutes decided to leave. Sadly the restaurant might have been understaffed but we did have to travel about ten miles to get there and decided it would just be better to leave and grab a tostada from Pollo Loco on the way home. I doubt if we return for dinner with so many other options. Never experienced this kind of poor service when it was Rancho Grande. If you try them hope you have a better experience. read more

Our family chose Casa Murillo for our weekday, lunchtime birthday celebration for my daughter. Casa Murillo is conveniently located near the freeway, which is nice if you're traveling. The service was outstanding. Our waitress was attentive, accommodating, and very gracious. The chips and salsa were slightly better than average, the salsa being very flavorful, but not overly spicy. We ordered from the lunch menu , and our meals were just okay, not great, but definitely not the worst, and the portion size was fair. Our drinks were refilled regularly, as were our chips and salsa. The waitress noticed we were celebrating a birthday because of the gifts we had brought, so at the end of our meal, she presented my daughter with a slice of cheesecake with a candle and the traditional sombrero and sang "Happy Birthday" , as well as gave our grandchildren small toys, which were included with their meals. The kids had a delightful experience. It was a very kind and thoughtful gesture and offered a cute photo op. read more

Rancho Grande is one of Bakersfield's largest "local chain" restaurants and is known for its classic Mexican food and margaritas. My wife and I found ourselves craving margaritas and chips and salsa this evening and stopped in at the Olive Drive location. We were immediately seated among many other tables in the large dining room. The restaurant was very busy, and very loud but we both noticed how surprisingly attentive and friendly the staff was. We were given the requisite chips and salsa and our drink orders were taken minutes after sitting down. Once our drinks arrived we were asked for our dinner orders and only a few minutes later, huge piping hot plates of delicious Mexican food arrived. I'll be honest, after a couple of margaritas I don't really remember what I had but my wife (who drove us home) said I wouldn't stop talking about how much I enjoyed it. Rancho Grande has it all covered. Great food, excellent service, and exquisite cocktails. They're also very affordable. You can't go wrong here. read more

Idk where to start, my wife told me about this place I guess they have two locations we came to this one, the beans tasted like canned beans if you're a mexican restaurant and serve canned beans you DO NOT care about your food plain and simple beans are extremely cheap and can be made fresh every day, I got the fish tacos expecting classic beer battered tacos like Taco Nazo in socal , for what ever reason they put cheese on the fish tacos!?!?! I'm all for experimenting..... at home.
