First time trying this place. I got the super wet burrito de Asada and my husband got the camarones a la diabla. The super wet burrito is HUGE however is was delicious!!! It's has meat, beans, rice, lettuce, sour cream, cheese and guacamole. The camarones a la diabla were also superb and very spicy. We like spicy food so it was good enough for us. It was served with rice and beans on the side. I actually give this place a 5 star because not only the food is great but also the service as well. The lady was very nice and attentive promised my food on time. It's a small location, family business owned. Im definitely coming back. read more

This is my second time coming to this is little restaurant. Their beef tacos and burrito de asada are to die for. Always ask for extra salsa roja enchilosa, if you love extra spicy. My fiancée introduced me to this lovely place over a year ago. She would always buy me a shrimp cocktail before I got to the house. The serving is humongous tomatoes are fresh shrimp peeled spices just right and even sides well with a nice cold nectar of the gods (beer) I finally had a chance to go to the restaurant. The restaurant is very small with limited seating. I would prefer you call to take your order to go. Customer service is great. There are no restrooms. Their homemade salsa is on fire delicious and extremely hot. I highly recommend the shrimp cocktail because that's all I've eaten there! read more

You know how some restaurants start to lose their magic the longer they've been open? This place ain't one of them! Every single time I go I'm amazed by how good everything tastes. The pastor especially is so crispy and flavorful, my mouth is watering rn just thinking about it. I don't live in the area anymore but make it a point to eat here when I'm in the area. Only "complaint" I could have is I wish they would give out more salsa so I can pour it into a cup and drink it lol read more

Me and my boyfriend usually LOVE going to this place! I just wish they would try to ask the customer if they want chile on their items or not. Sometimes they do, but most of the time they don't. I forgot to do that today and ended up giving my tacos to my bf since my stomach cannot handle their red sauce (it's good, just too hot for my heartburn lol) Also, we ordered an all meat carne asada burrito but got a regular burrito with rice and beans. I found this place through yelp (yay Yelp) and this place did not disappoint. I ordered the wet burrito plate, it comes with salad and rice. The green salsa was full of flavor along with everything else. I HIGHLY reccomend this hidden gem, it's inside a shopping center so there's plenty of parking. Came here for lunch with a friend. I don't mind waiting for my food, but when 3 different customers come in, order, and get their orders before we do, something is very wrong! We waited 25 minutes for 2 simple orders. Now here's the kicker. The food was lousy! Way over cooked carnitas, soggy salad, and over cooked shrimp. Horrible service, lousy, over cooked food. Food is good, service is not the greatest, but what kills me is on how they charge u .25 cents for extra salsa - a tiny container at that...Salsa is the less expensive thing to make cause it's made in bulk, yet they nickel and dime you. Not a good business model. Prices are a bit higher than ur average Mexican fast food. It's a shame. read more

It's a very small strip mall restaurant where all the chairs and tables have been removed. Now take out only. It's a gem! Easily some of the very best Mexican food in our area. The rice and beans alone are worth the drive. If a restaurant can go a great bean, the other items on the menu must be great! I've been going to El Chilito since 1994 and there are only three things wrong with this place. 1. You are treated better if you speak Spanish and appear to be a non-white. 2. Double check your food before you drive away - it's possible you may have received a mistake in the bag. 3. The thick young girl with glasses that appears to hate being alive and wants everyone to know. She isn't going to change and I've accepted that fact. Great place to get some Mexican food. Very authentic and the customer service is amazing. I've been coming here for well over 10 years and it never disappoints. You can eve get their famous SUPER BURRITO which is a burrito that literally fits inside a large styrofoam container and feeds a lot of mouths. There was so much to choose from but I was in the mood for some nachos. For $9.50 I ordered some nachos with carne asada. This order was full of meat, frijoles, guacamole, sour cream, & tomatoes! Their salsas are yummy! If you like King Tacos salsa roja then you will love their salsa roja! I couldn't even get 1/3 of the way through and I was stuffed! They do accept payment with cards but charge $1.00 if ur order is under $20. So be sure to bring some cash! P.S, They don't microwave the food in the styrofoam container. I thought the prices were reasonable considering how expensive LA is to begin with, the amount of food, and quality of the food given. I couldn't finish my burrito plus you get complimentary tortilla chips when you dine in. Horchata was also good. Not watery or too sweet. Everyone was right about the sauces, the green was tasty and the red was spicy! The pico de gallo was also great with everything. There's a condiment bar to the left where you can get your radishes and other sides. Most people order their tacos and burritos. They also serve enchiladas, tamales, nachos, soups, etc. if you're in the mood for other tasty options. Everything on the menu looked delish to be honest. This place is SERIOUSLY over-rated! I've been here more than I'd like to admit (3 x tops), but it's close to my job. On top of that, the cashier is just rude. I shouldn't complain so much. I should just stop coming here, but my co-workers (also great friends of mine) love this place.
