String Sports Brewery is, at first glance, a brewery. But spend a few minutes inside and you'll…read morerealize it's also a quiet tribute to basketball culture, local loyalty, and unexpectedly onion ring excellence. I arrived unaware of its history, but the owner's love for basketball is unmistakable, and the locals reflect that same devotion... not just to the sport, but to the space itself. There's an ease here, a sense that people aren't just passing through. I took a seat at the bar, did what one does in such environments, and ordered an IPA. It was solid... confident, balanced, exactly what you'd hope for. But then came the onion rings, which I ordered based on a subtle but unmistakable social cue: everyone else seemed to be eating them. Reader, they were correct. These were not mere onion rings. These were structurally sound, texturally precise, and philosophically complete. Large, fully cooked onions, no trace of that unpleasant raw bite, encased in a crisp, golden coating that somehow maintained its integrity from first bite to last. Crunchy, consistent, and deeply satisfying. Naturally, I paired them with blue cheese dressing because I'm from upstate New York, and that is not a preference, it is doctrine.

I arrived a little bit later than the rest of my group and they had already ordered several apps for the table. I did not come hungry this trip, so I just munched on the boiled peanuts. They were spectacular. The service was wonderful! The employees were all very engaged with the customers. And what a great place to watch the game! An abundance of TVs and what's better than hanging out with fellow jags fans?! Plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor options. And just a fun place to be. I'm officially a fan now and will for sure check this out on a more regular basis. No pics because I was too busy being blown away by the Jags performance today! Duuuuuvallllll

I had the simply titled Steak In A Sack, which I liked. It's not a brunch dish that's going to set the world on fire but it's gonna hit the spot. The biggest surprise to me was how much I liked the side of potatoes. I'm the type of person who salts everything but these were seasoned so well that I didn't haven't to. My wife ordered the French Toast Burger out of sheer curiosity. It was exactly what she guessed it would be. She hit it with a fork & knife like I did with the steak in a sack and she finished most of it! She also loved the potatoes. It's worth noting that our server was a delightful woman named Eileen. We were the first ones through the door at 10am today but she greeted us with a smile and took great care of us the whole time. I walked in already aggravated. There was one host, and every time the line moved, he'd disappear…read more I figured, "What the hell is going on?" Then I realized what was actually happening. Ty Lee wasn't just hosting. He was seating people, bussing tables, taking orders, serving food, and somehow keeping the entire outside section running by himself. When we got here, the outside section was empty, but the restaurant inside was packed. Within minutes of us being seated, every outside table filled up, and I watched Ty handle all of them without missing a beat while still taking care of people coming through the front door. I don't have that kind of patience. Hell, I would've quit halfway through my shift. Through all of it, Ty stayed friendly, never looked annoyed, never rushed us, and never made anyone feel like they were a burden. That's rare. People are quick to complain when service is slow, but sometimes it's because one person is carrying the weight of an entire restaurant. If that's what's happening here, management needs to recognize what they've got. Ty deserves every compliment he gets, and if anyone has earned a raise, it's him. I tip well. Really well. Ty earned every dollar of it, and then some. If you get him as your server, take care of him. He's taking care of damn near everybody else.

When we walked in, we saw a huge table of senior citizens, maybe about 20-30! We decided to stay. There was only one Bartender and one Waitress. The place was packed. We sat by the window seats-that was all that was left to sit at. The Waitress was very attentive(even though she was slammed). Today's special was shrimp baskets. Shrimp could be cooked three ways. I chose fried w/onion rings(fresh-not frozen rings) & and a 50/50 tea. My meal was delicious. Laura had blackened shrimp w/broccoli. We both enjoyed our meals and had a great conversation. I had $40.00 cash on me and Laura had a card to treat me, but the internet and card machine had just gone down. So I paid for the meal and tip. Laura Cash App'd me $40.00. Pros:big place with a very friendly atmosphere. Great service and food. Cons:it was out of their control that the machine went down. Recommend:Yes
