A gem in Placita- don't let the exterior fool you - they have amazing drinks, the ceviche is delicious and in the heart of people watching and gathering any night of the week in San Juan!

Piña mojito! They're as good as people say!

Can't speak to the food (although it looked good from what I saw on the plates of those around us), but the mojitos were the best we had in San Juan. The other reviews on those are accurate. I loved the pina mojito I got and I think my wife got pomegranate and that was also delicious. I recommend stopping if you're bar hopping in that area for the mojitos alone. You'll thank me later.

The bar was cool is in the middle of the Placita it was cool and energetic with a positive vibe

    Ceviches are good.

Great local place for drinks and good ceviche. The octopus was fresh and well prepared. Grab a drink and just hangout anywhere in La Placita!

I came here on Memorial Day with a group of 13 people. We were extremely satisfied with the mojito, ceviche (fish and shrimp), and octopus that we ordered. One order of ceviche was not enough, we went back for more!

The best things in life are found whilst wandering strange places. We stumbled on Coco de Luis after putting our names on a list at Jose Enrique for dinner. $4 margaritas and sangrias... sign me up! I can only imagine what this place is like on the weekend. We swung by La Placita on a Tuesday so it was lowkey despite the bumping salsa jams pumping through the speakers. There were kitties roaming around everywhere. Adorable. The folks next to us were bro-ing it up with cigars and copious alcoholic bevs. Others wandered in and out enjoying a few drinks before making their way to the next destination. If only we were heading to dinner, I would have devoured their chicharrones. Until next time Coco! I think you're legit.

An emblem of Puerto Rican Culture. There's nouveau and delicious restaurants to choose from in La Placita, but the best thing to eat is and will always be the fried chicken from el Coco. Add to that a drink prepared with fresh coconut water or freshly squeezed grapefruit and orange juice. Then sit in the plaza and enjoy all the colorfulness of island living :) ______________ Emblema de Puerto Rico. Hay deliciosos restaurantes nouveau en La Placita, pero lo mejor para comer es y siempre será el pollo frito del Coco. Y súmale un palito con agua de coco o jugo de toronja y china fresca. BUEN PROVECHO

Tostones con carne cerdo....y una Medalla!

Went to "La Placita" to get our bar time in...great experience all around! El Coco de Luis was thee first and last place we visited while there....low low low prices for drinks and absolutely phenomenal food! We got two orders of Tostones con carne cerdo....or fried plantains with pork, and it was delicious...they say and advertise that they have the best mojitos around and I have to say that it would be an argument to debate that statement, as they are awesome. Staff is friendly and eager to please. 100% would recommend.

Very friendly people. We loved the conch vinaigrette salad, drinks are inexpensive. We had returned to this place twice to eat their conch vinaigrette salad ( a local delicacy.

My husband ordered the fried snapper. The bacalaitos were good. The grouper was delicious. I didn't get the chance to try the fried snapper but it looked good. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, and the service was excellent from beginning to end, from the hostess to the servers and bussers. Our server, Jeffery, was amazing! He was energetic, professional, attentive, and you can genuinely tell he takes his position seriously. I loved that! We were greeted with complimentary sopa de plátano and bacalaítos, and I was NOT expecting to love them as much as I did. This was by far the best sopa de plátano I've ever had. I never thought I could fall in love with a soup, but here we are! (I ordered a whole extra regular size bowl )The bacalaítos were another surprise because they're normally not something I order or even particularly like--and I've tried quite a few in my life--but these were absolutely delicious. My S/O and I shared the churrasco with arroz mamposteao, along with a side of avocado salad and majado de viandas. Everything was a straight 10/10. Not one disappointment on the table. They also make an amazing Rojo Pico, which was the perfect addition to the experience. 100% recommend Casita Miramar. Don't overthink JUST GO! Attire was relaxed-- I saw ladies in pants as well as dresses, men in pants and shorts, but the staff was dressed sharply in all black. We waited a bit while two hosts and a manager worked to assemble several tables on the patio for a group of ten which had arrived before us. The patio decor-- murals and greenery, were beautiful. We requested indoor seating near the bar, and were the second of four tables to be filled. The indoor seating was a bit darker, had two bartenders working nonstop, and three televisions were playing inside. The inside seating area was quieter and more intimate (plus cooler in temperature) than the patio option. Our server, Raul, promptly greeted us and asked if we preferred English or Spanish. Promising to give honest recommendations of our selections, he did-- and made great suggestions as well. We started with risotto balls as an appetizer-- the guava dipping sauce was delicious. They were cheesier than my husband could stomach, so several remained on our plate. For our entrees, my husband chose the Ropa Vieja en Canoa (peeled, hollowed out like a canoe). I selected the Fried Red Snapper (served whole) with creole sauce, a house salad (lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, orange slices, mango dressing) and fried sweet plantains. After a bite, I asked for a glass of Blanc de Blancs, which was a wonderful, crisp pairing. We could not finish our meals, much less entertain the offer of dessert. By the time we left, all four tables were being served inside, there were four gyesss eating dinner at the bar, and the patio seating looked maxed out as well. Ropa Vieja was certainly the best dinner experience we've had in these first three nights in San Juan. So happy the reviews were on point with this one!

Tucked inside La Placita de Santurce, its a small, casual, almost hidden spot that's usually packed with locals. Now, if you want to sit down and enjoy an authentic Puerto Rican meal, here are some of my favorites: chuletas fritas, chicharrones de pollo, bistec encebollado and carne frita-- of course with a side of rice and beans or tostones for the win. Surprisingly, the blood sausage was probably the best one I've tried so far. The chicken was fried perfectly, not greasy at all. The rice and beans perfect compliments to the dish. The grouper stole the show though. It was absolutely delicious, probably one of the best fish I've ever had. A few days after, we decided to have dinner here again after my son wanted to eat there. The waiter from the first night and manager recognized us (from the time before) and thanked us for coming back. This time, I ordered the mero with arroz con habichuelas.
