    Shredded Beef - Ropa Vieja

Just delicious - ropa vieja plate. Shredded beef , plantain , black beans over rice - we had a fiesta in our mouth- a celebration of deliciousness. It's really yummy !

Amazing, authentic and tasteful experience here at El Cubano. From the minute you open the door you're greeted with beautiful smiles and very welcoming ambiance. I started off with the empanadas and sangria. Both the chicken and beef empanadas were delicious. Watch out for that sangria because the effects really does sneak up on you. I ordered the oxtail stew with white rice and plantains and a side of moros y cristianos. All I can say is wow! Everything thing was great. Compliments to chef for the flavorful sauce, tender oxtails and sweet plantains. Certainly when in the Valencia area I'll be looking for a El Cubano return.

Plantains. I could eat them forever.

Those plantains are perfect! Mmmm. My husband loved his chicken and pork plate with rice and beans. The cuban sandwich was great. The service is sincere and they were kind people.

Drop in for some Comer De Cuba and it was ALL delicious! Very nice staff attentive and knowledgeable on the dishes. The art in restaurant was excellent. I will be back and endorse this place!

First time trying Cuban food in general. But let's just say that the place or the service is the reason for the 3 stars. I'd give that 5 starts if i can. i ordered the empanadas (2 beef,1Chicken) Those were very tasty and good. Highly recommend trying them out, especially with the green sauce. (The beef tasted way better than the chicken). Now for the entrees, I'm really not sure what all the hype is about the Oxtail Stew. It's really not worth all that hype. It was very, very bland, IMO. It was definitely not worth it. It comes with 3 sides btw: Yellow rice, Beans, and plantains We also got the garlic-roasted chicken, Now all i can say about that. That it was chicken lol. There's not much to it, Just like any other regular chicken I've had. Nothing special about it. Also, Comes with the same 3 sides. Don't get me wrong again. The place is great. Very clean, very maintained and really friendly staff. That is helping you all the time. It was just the food, I did not feel it. Hate to say that I left disappointed. Not sure if I'll be back here again, Or maybe i will but i'll try to order something different.

Still cool spot. Stepped their game up a bit. 1. Oxtails are flavorful and a good portion just wish the sauce was a little more tomato based. 2. The Yuka Rellenas I would drive from far for. Best I've ever had!!!! 3. Salad is huge and hearty. 4. Black beans were soupy and not flavorful 5. Rice wasn't fluffy and flavorful like I recalled 6. You only get a few plantains so if you want a lot order a side. Will be back if only for the Yuka Rellenas!

I've tried almost everything on their menu and was never able to find something i ordered enjoyable. It's just not for me. This visit I ordered their Lomo Salteado and the meat was extremely rubbery and unpleasant. My daughter ordered their chicken empanadas and it was a hard no for her too. When we were ready to close out, I asked the waiter as he was clearing some things on our table, if he could bring some to-go boxes when he had a moment for things we didn't finish so we could take them home. He had a butter knife in his hands and threw it onto the table. Rough day I guess. I personally would not come here myself, but continue to do so for my wife. Will update my review when I visit again. Until next time. . .

There was plenty of parking in this lot. The entrance is located through their patio, which can be a bit counter intuitive. We came at opening and the restaurant got really busy during our time there. Initially we were looking at the sandwiches because it was lunch time, but then we were going to a wedding that night so we decided to eat something more filling since the ceremony and speeches always delay the eating. All entrees here are served with black beans and rice or congri, and 3 fried plantains. My boyfriend had the Ropa Vieja ($28) with the congri and I had the Lechon Asado ($25) with the rice and beans. Our food came out pretty fast after we ordered. My boyfriend's Ropa Vieja is a Cuban braised beef. The congri is basically a mix of the rice and beans. This dish was super tasty and the shredded beef was so tender with the bell peppers and onions. I can really taste the red wine and tomato sauce in the base. I took a few bites but in general I preferred my dish more, and vis versa he enjoyed his dish more. My lechon asado is a roasted pork that is super super tenderrrrrr. It was so sweet with the grilled onions and it had the perfect amount of fattiness without being over bearing. SO GOOD! Love the plaintains too. I'm glad I got the rice and beans option because I would have gotten too full too quick with the congri. I barely touched my beans and only got through half of my rice. Both dishes came with this super tasty garlic butter sauce that I poured on my rice and made it even tastier. It was so good. One thing I didn't enjoy about the experience was the flies attacking us and our food. Since the door is open and connected to their outdoor space, it leaves the opportunities for flies to come in. We had to play defense with the flies the whole time. The service here is a little slow. Especially when I was trying to get back on the road I wasn't feeling too patient. I waived down multiple staff members too. Also I got hit with an undisclosed 3% surcharge for using my credit card. I only found out after I got the receipt. I would have paid in cash if I knew. *dislike* LOVE LOVE LOVE the food. Might be the best Cuban food I've ever had... and I've been to Florida where there was a lot of Cuban spots. Room for improvement with service, flies prevention, and the disclosure of the credit card fee.

The food quality is spectacular! I always get the Baracoa Cubano sandwich and it never disappoints. The ingredients are fresh and organic with each dish I've ordered. Since I have allergies to ingredients used to preserve frozen food, it's always been so hard finding a restaurant with a menu that doesn't cause me issues--and Baracoa has never compromised with their ingredients! The organic quality of their food is something you'll taste on your first bite. And finally--the service is impeccable and I have yet to see such excellent hospitality at any restaurant I've visited, even in Los Angeles! The waiters are always kind, attentive, and energetic with their behavior and service. It's very easy to tell they love the work they do and it shows in their work ethic. In addition to that, the managers are always making sure we're having an excellent night and have transformed it to a level of service we've never seen! My parents and I went a week ago and talked to Daniel the Manager about how much we missed a Piña Colada from a closed restaurant which would make it in the pineapple itself--and he said if we promised to be there in a week he's make it himself. We came on Friday, and the joy that my family felt was palpable when Daniel came out with the drinks we've wished for years now since that restaurant closed! Honestly, I've never heard of someone caring for their guests so much to do that--truly everyone should visit this establishment and experience true fine dining. I don't think I'll ever eat anywhere else for a special occasion ever again.

Located in Culver City off of Venice Blvd, you will find the legendary Cuban restaurant Versailles. As you walk in you are greeted by a very friendly team of employees, all super excited to see you, for those of you spanish speakers, enjoy speaking spanish, I moved away years ago and to not get much of a chance to speak my native language. The food, wow so many Cuban food options, I went with the classic Cuban Sandwich with Platanos Fritos (as a request), they were nice enough to sub out vs fries. Amazing taste, a huge sized sandwich on a super soft french bread roll, my Dad had the Roasted Garlic Chicken served with white rice, black beans and onions, he loved his meal, he could not get over the amazing taste of the chicken and the onions. The one regret he had was not ordering the Ox Tail like he originally had planned but he was so excited to have the chicken, maybe next time. I ordered the La Bamba Special, which features slow-roasted, shredded pork seasoned with a Caribbean-style marinade and is usually served with rice and beans. I was looking forward to a flavorful Cuban-style dish, but the meal turned out to be quite unexpected. Instead, the plate included chunks of pork topped with raw red onions, accompanied by Mexican rice and refried beans, which didn't align with my expectations. Overall, the dish was disappointing and unappealing, both in flavor and in the combination of sides. I ended up eating only a quarter of it. The refried beans had no flavor, and I chose not to eat the rice because I prefer different styles. One of my friends ordered fried yuca and fried plantains. While I appreciate the effort to include these items, the yuca was quite dry and could benefit from more seasoning. The plantains, which resembled regular bananas, seemed to have too much oil. As someone who enjoys Caribbean cuisine, I believe the restaurant would benefit from focusing more on traditional flavor combinations. Mixing elements of Mexican and Caribbean cuisine can be a challenge, especially for those familiar with both; there's great potential for improvement by keeping these cuisines distinctly represented. I recommend assessing your kitchen staff; they may need training. I wanted to share some positive recommendations with family and friends about visiting this restaurant, but I recommend exploring other options for now. I hope that constructive feedback will help enhance the dining experience. Thank you!
