When we were finally able to have our service, Keith provided us a detailed step-by-step outline and to our surprise worked to set up the Honor Guard Ceremony. It was so profound for all in attendance at the celebration, I don't think there was a dry eye in the place. Keith Rosa always kept us abreast of every stage in the process. From death certificates and notifications, Social Security, County Clerk and more, it was so worth the price to have a one-point-of-contact for this difficult time in our family's life. We made an appt, but were actually able to come down anytime. We sat down and spoke to Bari, who was above and beyond compassionate and professional. She explained everything so gently, and it was almost as if there was nothing I had to worry about or do outside of grieving my dear husband. I knew she was the perfect fit to care for my husbands passing. She handled everything, and I mean everything. Her communication was top notch and extremely easy to get ahold of in case I had any questions or needing to talk about something. We set up a viewing before cremation, and she was at my and my families side as support throughout the entire experience. My husband looked wonderful. Although it was heartbreaking, Bari made it less horrible. We all hugged her, she made us feel comforted and safe in what we were going through. Bari has turned out to be such an invaluable and amazing partner in this tragic journey of mine. I've had to stop at the business several times to drop off cremation necklaces, my husband's urn, and pick things up. Each time I hugged and thanked her. She even got full handprints of my husband for me, not just the complimentary fingerprints. She genuinely has put so much love, care and concern into my husband, myself and our kids. Even so, it was still very upsetting when he finally died. Dad long ago asked to have his body cremated and the ashes placed next to our mom in the gravesite our parents had purchased decades ago. There are of course a large variety of choices when it comes to cremation with a wide range of accompanying prices and options. I realized quickly that we wanted to have this service done as cost-effectively as possible but still with a great deal of care and attention to detail. I visited Affordable Cremation of Roseville and met with Destiny Ivy. She patiently explained to me all of the different options available along with the laws and regulations governing this process. At no point did she try to upsell me on anything and I very much appreciated her honest and straightforward approach, especially during this difficult time. I chose to witness my father's cremation, which of course is not very commonly done; I guess I viewed this as my last act of service for my father. I want everyone to know the cremation facility is very clean and organized and there is a lot of effort put into making sure there is no adverse environmental impact from this process. Destiny was wonderful at keeping me informed throughout this entire process, which took about 10 days in all. She has great communication skills and is very empathetic, for which I am very grateful. I've resided in Amador County since Jan. 1990 and my mother moved here around 3 years later and…read moredied in 2011. Given the relationship between the Sheriff Coronor and Daneri my mother's body was taken there when she died at the local hospital in Jackson. My mother had lost both of her lower legs due to peripheral artery disease and in both cases there was a mortuary in Lodi that made it possible for the legs to be cremated and returned rather than end up in a medical incineration which is what normally happens to human body parts in those circumstances. So when my mother died in 2011 I called the mortuary in Lodi and they picked up my mother's body and did the cremation at far lower cost than what Daneri quoted me and I would strongly suggest that everyone else shop around before going the easy route here in Jackson and paying through the nose. I promise you that there are far less expensive options just a few miles away. IMO, the problem is that all of the mortuaries here in Amador are owned by the same company. That company was family owned and operated for decades but one of their employees informed me in early 2024 that the family had sold out to a giant death care corporation. So unless I'm mistaken the company is no longer locally owned and the people you are dealing with are employees charged with extracting every last dollar from you when a relative dies. Given what I know I would recommend that you shop around with other mortuaries in Stockton, Lodi, and Sacramento before you agree to let "Daneri" handle the arrangements. It's far less costly and there are other options.
