The star is for the store manager who is very courteous. Everything else was a disaster. It all started when I made an appointment here the last week of May because my car was pulling to the right and I had uneven tire wear. NTB told me I needed new control arms because the bushings on mine were gone. We had them do the CV joints as well since they said those needed to be replaced. NTB calls and tells me my car is ready around 4:45pm so I have my hubby bring me up to the shop. As we are leaving (me following husband on the way home), I call husband as I'm driving and tell him I hear a clunk under the passenger side front end. He tells me we should call them when they open the next day and see if they'll double check and make sure everything is ok. I get about a mile and a half down El Dorado blvd and hear a loud pop. Then it sounds like my tire is thunking like I had a flat tire. Long story short, the bolt on my brake caliper was either not tightened or was broken when they did the control arms. My brake caliper had come off and was wedged into the rim. There's no bolt in the caliper so it was either not tightened, or they broke when they torqued it. I have it towed to NTB for the night since they were closed for the day at this point. I call them in the morning. They apologize and replace the bolt. It gets better (not actually). After the brake caliper disaster, I'm noticing the car still clunks when accelerating from a stop. A few weeks go by and I'm driving to school on Bay Area blvd and my car yanks right and I hear a god awful grinding noise. Again I put my flashers on and pull over. I call my husband and a tow truck. Apparently, the bolts in the passenger side control arm disappeared. Gone. The tire was wedged back into the wheel well. Again, I have it towed to NTB. The best response I could get from them was "we are so sorry" and "we're scratching our heads as to how this has happened" and they offer to pay for the tow and replace the bolts. At this point I can't believe my car isn't destroyed and this likely because both times I was going under 30mph. I don't want them touching my car ever again. I called Benson's to have them go over the work because NTB is going to get someone killed. NTB never offered to refund any portion of the almost 2k we paid for the work so know there's not much they'll offer besides bolts and an alignment if they mess up. I'm going to write a letter to corporate but I'm not confident that they will take any action. So, if you need anything on your vehicle repaired, go to Bensons on Hwy 3, they're amazing and thorough. Shoot, go ANYWHERE but NTB. read more

Took my company car here last Saturday to repair a tire which had a nail in it. I waited 2.5 hours for them to repair it. The next morning the same tire was very low on air so their repair obviously didn't work. I took it back today and was told that NTB would have to get approval from our fleet management company. After waiting over an hour, I was told by NTB that our fleet company hadn't approved the repair. I asked them why they needed approval to correct a warranty issue and was told that all work had to be approved by the fleet company. I waited another 15 minutes and still no approval. I asked for my keys back and left. Poor quality work along with bad customer service. read more

Two times now I've been concerned that the recorded mileage on my car at NTB (for an oil change) was lower than it actually was. The last oil change was in November and the sticker says the mileage was at 112,000* miles. The odometer today is 118.000. I only drive about 900 miles a month but by the NTB sticker, I've driven 6,000 miles - and need an oil change! (NOT true). I looked at my inspection documentation and the mileage was 113,000 in August - so it could NOT have been 112,000 in November. This record keeping error has happened two times at two different NTB locations (and these numbers are in their computer data base). So by this method, I need an oil change much more often than I actually do. Is this something others are experiencing at NTB??? *Numbers are rounded up for easy calculations. read more

I contacted corporate asking to speak to a higher up, management of CSR, or CEO via email with my issues and they don't want to own up to their mistakes and compensate me. I purchased new tires from them only a few months ago, and went in a few days ago needing a patch for a slow leak in one of the tires. Instead of standing behind their product, they tried to scam me for more money saying there was a nail in the sidewall of the tire (it clearly was NOT) and that it was irreparable; that I need another new tire. Really? After only a few weeks of my purchase?? Yeah, no. The mom and pop shop down the street was able to fix it for me in no time and with excellent customer service. Love how these large companies try and take advantage of customers. They lost me as a customer for life, being dishonest like that. If there was a negative setting it would easily be -5. Customer standing in front of you and you do your best to ignore them while you talk on the phone. Terrible Experience at NTB on Bay Area Blvd. I would caution anyone who needs auto service against using NTB on Bay Area Blvd. Terrible experience we had yesterday there. The manager knew we needed out vehicle back before closing, but locked up the vehicle and refused to answer the phones. Then lied about the situation, and refused to even take a little off the bill as restitution. The whole experience, the general manager was much more belligerent and unhinged than I was. I chose this location because it was convenient for my son. He had a set of 4 tires installed and while he was there they told him he needed rear brakes and wanted to charge him $600 for REAR brakes only. Brakes on this car cost about $80 for pads and $200 for new rotors for all 4 corners. While he was there another customer came in to pick up his car after buying 4 tires. He came back in after checking his car and the tires on the car were not the brand he asked for. NTB Webster had installed a different brand claiming they only had 3 of his specified brand in stock. When the customer asked if a different NTB location had the correct tire they told him if he left the tires would be considered "Used". I had such a great experience here before that NTB has been the only place I have bought tires for my Chevy. That changed today with a single phone call. Was checking to see if the tires I need were in stock and the woman I was speaking with, Kristin, was impatient, rude and had a very mocking tone towards the end. I just needed to know if that location had two Sumitomo tires in stock but instead I received an attitude from what I guessed was a frustrated employee who probably just hates their job. Considering I've had nothing but good things to say before that experience I took time out of my work day on my lunch break to address the incident that had more than rubbed me the wrong way. Funny enough, when I go to speak to the manager her name is Kristin. By now I've already put the pieces together and know that this conversation isn't going to be worth my trip over let alone resolve anything. I explained to her, even as she kept trying to raise her voice to speak over me, why I would never be a repeat customer again. I'm sure she could careless and I'm sure whoever owns this establishment could careless considering that they place people with deplorable customer service skills and general polite phone etiquette in management position. I made a reservation for 1:00. Got here early. Dropped it off. Went to lunch. It's 3:00 and it's in the bay. Over 2 hours for an oil change and tire rotation. There are 3 mechanics and two cars. This isn't worth the good price. I thought making a reservation was suppose to hold your place in line so you can get out fast. I was mistaken. I may need to find a different I gave them one more chance. I left with a oil leak and had to return. Then I did it again and went back. I can't do this any more. I waited. And waited. And waited. This place is horrible. This the areas SLOWEST tire shop in town. When you ask how long 5he wait will be, they told me they have two cars ahead of me and that's all they can tell me. 2 hours later they come get my car. I told them just replace my tire, while they were trying to inform me about my other tires that are suspect. Little did they know, they were all less than 3 months old. To make matters worse, like my Sunday doesn't matter, a kid came in with a flat tire and they told him the wait was 3 hours. He went outside to replace it himself, when the technician working on my car stopped what he was doing and changes his tire on side of the building so it goes unseen. So I pay for the 5 year alignment and bring it back over a year later. NTB says they can't align it because the 2 lower control arm bushings are damaged and if they align then it could make the tires wear even faster. So I tell them ok let me know how much it is to repair. Never hear back from them! So I call again asking for an estimate of what exactly needs to be fixed and how much. They said they'd call me back , nope! Third time I call, they look in the system and see nothing. Guy tells me to come in and he'd look at it. Ok, so I head over and walk in, first customer there. A lady walks in after me, he tells me let me help her out real quick then I'll take care of you. Ugh!!! Im like ok. Nothing was quick. I told my ride waiting on me to leave. I'll find another ride since it was taking so long. So my car goes back finally and now it can get aligned. Really? All of a sudden it's magically fixed! So now I'm thinking was there ever really a problem or not?! I just want to take care of any issues before any of my warranty expires. Kudos to this location for excellent customer service! I have brought several tires from them and always get prompt service. I prefer this location than the one near where I live. Last week I noticed a tire getting flat at the end of the day right before close. The tech graciously filled my tire for me. However it continued to deflate over the weekend. A closer inspection showed a screw in my tire. I brought it in today and after a few hours they told me I could pick up my car. Instead of upselling me a new tire. Tired of dealing with this place, so I've written it off. Went here on a Sunday (NTB seemed to be the only tire place open on Sunday) for an urgent need to replace a tire (hindsight, I should have just stuck my donut on and stuck with going to my usual tire place). My interaction with the guy at the counter wasn't very pleasant. Wanted to replace my tire but also told him one or two of my TPMS sensors needed to be replaced because their batteries were dead. He was uninterested, but I remember what it was like to deal with customers all day, so I forgave that. Some people just aren't people persons. We agree on a tire that's in stock and that they'll figure out which batteries are dead. He says it'll take about an hour. I decide to go next door for food and drinks; 90 minutes later I haven't heard yet. Worried they may have just wrote my phone number down wrong I walk back over. I then find out they didn't actually have it in stock so he just decided to have it shipped there. No call to me to see if I want to switch to something in stock, or give an updated estimate on time. Tires still aren't there. Wait another 2 hrs or so before they final arrive and get installed. Additionally, my gf was with me, so wasting both of our time when had we known it was going to have to be shipped over we could have gone to get her car so we could have just dropped my car off, but again - very poor communication. When I try to talk to the dude and explain calmly that as a customer his decision to not call me makes me feel that he doesn't value my time at all, he pays no attention to me and just watches his computer screen. So I decide to jot down the number for the guy that owns the place to call and complain. Good news, that guy never picks up his phone when I do call or responds to voicemail. Finally get my car back - they say the TPMS sensor should turn off by the time I get home. It doesn't, so I have to go back later in the week. Somehow none of the TPMS sensors are working so they have to replace all the TPMS sensors. I will give credit that opted to just replace all TPMS sensors again at no cost. I'm honestly not sure if it was worth the amount of time I'd spent at NTB up to that point, but it was something. A month or so late I notice a slow leak in one of my new tires. I take it in to find the slow leak and have it addressed. They can't find the slow leak, and even checked all 4 tires, and over pressed the system. OK, sucks but what can you do. They fill it up and tell me to come back if it drops in pressure again. Less than 2 weeks later, it does (about 35 psi down to 25 psi). I go in and rather than even trying again to find a slow leak, I'm at first trying to be sold a new tire. I then point out I have the road hazard warrenty (frustrating that I wasn't asked, or that it's not in the system). I'm informed that I can use my road hazard warranty and just have to pay the ~$15 installation for the new tire. She's not rude about it, but I'm just tired of giving them time and/or money to not be able to fix things. I don't feel like having to pay installation and am frustrated with never being able to leave this place for very long so I take it down the road to another place. They take a look and realize that it's because of corrosion on the wheel hub, nothing wrong with the tire and give me the bandaid option of some sealent over the corrosion or replacing the hub. If I had stayed at NTB I would have spent money for a new tire that wouldn't have even fixed the problem. Tl;Dr service and knowledge are not up to a standard that I would even consider coming back. Even if it's the only place open on a rare day off. read more

That was easily the worse tire buying experience I have ever had. They were advertising buy 2 tires and get 2 free but what they don't tell you initially is you HAVE to buy this $330 service package and a 1 year alignment. Then I get there and I wait 2 and half hours for something the service person told me would take 45 min. Then they tell me I'm next on the alignment machine and it would be another 25 min. This was over 2 hours into the wait. About 20 min later I walked outside and no one was working on my truck. About that time the alignment guy/manager walked out and said he would do it now. No way. He had been sitting back in the office the whole time. There is a serious costumer service problem at this location. Will never go back. read more

I took the car to the dealership 2 days later and they said I only needed an alignment and not anything else. Please don't give these liars any money! I always get good deals when I shop here. You have to ask for a discount, but you will get one. It's slow. Very slow at times so unless you want to walk across the street to get a bite, have someone pick you up or be prepared to spend a couple of hours here if you are getting a set of tires. read more

This place is first of all discussing! It seems like they never try to mop the floors at all! Next I arrived at 2:45 for an oil change, tire rotation, air filter change and that's all. I took 2.5 hours to do so. While waiting in the customer waiting room you could hear all the employees cursing and yell in front of all the customers. The manager was continuously yelling at this one young lady that worked in the receptionist area to the point she walked out of the place. He belittled her in front of everyone. I sat where I could see my vehicle because I honestly didn't trust anyone here. Not mention when I asked for a convention oil change he charged me for the premium oil change that's a $22.00 difference in price. I've been a long time customer of NTB but I will never return to this location. The league city location they are much nicer and much quicker, and their facility is smaller. I went in today for assistance with a flat tire & the guy behind the desk seem more concerned with finding ways not to assist me. I also found it entertaining that when customers called he told them not to even bother they are too busy. The waiting room was not packed. I'm sitting around the corner at discount tire..
