    Vegetable cuscús

Delicious new Moroccan spot! We started with the Moroccan salad served with bread and olives, fresh and full of flavor. My husband had the vegetable couscous and I had the chicken pastilla, which was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted freshly made and authentic. I also tried the homemade kombucha by the owner, which was such a nice touch. The space is cozy and they are very friendly and welcoming. Excuse the photos ,we started eating before I remembered to take them! We'll definitely be back to try more dishes. The Moroccan breakfast on the menu looks amazing.

Both my husband and I really like Moroccan food, so when I saw this restaurant had opened, I was very much looking forward to trying it. We came for lunch. It's a very small restaurant with a section upfront with various items for sale. There was one other couple finishing up their lunch. The gentleman behind the counter was concentrating on his phone, so I went up there to get his attention and to give him our order -- first some Morrocan mint tea and a chicken pastilla. And then added on the lamb tagine. We figured we'd share each dish. I'd chosen the sweet mint tea. It was supposed to have honey in it, but didn't taste sweet at all. I had some Splenda in my purse so I added that. Each mini pot of tea afforded several glasses. The mint leaves were in the bottom of the glasses. Other than the sweetness, I liked it. The chicken pastilla was pretty to look at with the dough covered in cinnamon and powdered sugar. However, the inside filling was a bit too dry and rather bland. We'd wanted the pastilla first as an appetizer and the tagine afterwards, but they were both delivered at the same time. The lamb pieces contained a lot of bones. And there only a few prunes and on top a sprinkling of nuts. This dish, too, was a bit bland. We left disappointed. But I'm glad we tried the restaurant, as now we know.

We always seek out a place offering Moroccan cuisine. Our favorite is the Imperial Fez, in Buckhead, Georgia. With high hopes of experiencing some Moroccan dishes a little closer to home, we tried El Fassi. The owner was behind the counter and greeted us as we entered. We seated ourselves and he brought over menus. We ordered water to start as we looked over the menu. After we had made our selections, my wife got up and walked over to the counter and ordered two small pots of mint tea. As the owner was brewing the tea my wife, again got up and ordered a Chicken pastilla and a Lamb Tajine. The tea was fair, the chicken pastilla was rather dry and the Lamb Tajine had three large bones, some tender meat and sauce. Not what We were expecting or have become accustomed to. The owner was preoccupied with his cell phone down behind the counter all the while our dining. As we were ready to check out and leave I had to approach the owner, still on his cell phone, and ask for our check. Now we know ...

This is a small place - less than 10 tables. The Moroccan decor is charming. It is a bit confusing as there are 3 businesses colocated - restaurant, juice/smoothie bar and a gift shop. We were seated quickly and offered drinks. We chose the mint tea, which was delicious. We tried a chicken postilla as an appetizer. It was larger than I expected and enough either for an entree or to share. Amazing flavors. For entrees, we tried Lamb Tajine and Kofta kebobs. Again the unique flavors were excellent. But, both were rather dry and served as is. Well the Kevin came with rice and there was some morracan bread... but no veggies in sight. You really need to understand the cuisine as there were no descriptions or pictures. No matter how full, do not miss the baklava!

Great service, super friendly owner, great authentic Moroccan food. Service a little bit slow and a bit expensive, but I also came close to close. Huge recommend if you want to try a new authentic cuisine.

I love that our little neighborhood shopping center has a Moroccan restaurant right next to Mediterranean, Mexican, and Chinese restaurants. The interior is small and charming with Moroccan merchandise for sale in the front and probiotic products in the back. There was a TV running a loop about dining in Morocco. The case by the register is filled with different types of baklava and cookies (all with nuts). On the night we had dinner here at El Fassi, including our table, there were just two parties for dinner and just one employee (owner?), D, doing the cooking, bussing, and serving. D was really nice, patient, and friendly; although we had to request and wait a little long for drink refills. We started with mint teas, the appetizer trio, and salad. All were fresh and tasty. The tea was served with fresh mint in glasses and was presented the way I recall having tea in Morocco. D brought us a basket of bread too. For our mains we tried the Chicken Pastilla, Kofta Kebabs, Lamb Tagine, Chicken Couscous, and Lamb Couscous. Each dish was beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the Pastilla tasted dry. We never had pastilla before, so we're not sure how it should be prepared. The 3 kebabs were fine, but would have been better with more seasoning. They came with a small bowl of rice. The couscous dishes came with a lovely assortment of vegetables, but not enough protein. They came with some sauce on the side with a few chickpeas; more sauce would have been welcome. The lamb tagine with prunes was the best and most hearty dish. I was a little surprised that it didn't come with a starch (potato or rice). The baklava was fresh, but portions were small. They had peanut, walnut and pistachio varieties. The restaurant and bathroom were immaculate. We plan to come back and to try their juices and breakfast dishes.

very kind owner that gave us food on the house for our first visit! Very caring owner. He didn't even know it was my birthday and still gave us one of the best experiences i've had in a restaurant. The ambiance was nice and relaxing though it wasn't very busy since it has just opened. Owner is a handsome guy.

Had a very nice lunch today at El Fassi Cuisine in Boynton, on Hagen Ranch Rd just north of Flavor Pict. (It's a veritable Restaurant Row over there, with Middle Eastern, Mexican, Chinese and now this delightful Moroccan eatery.) My friend and I split a chicken pastilla (stuffed pastry), lamb tajine and plate of homemade Moroccan bread. All were delicious, albeit lightly seasoned. Service was very friendly, and the cozy space was charmingly decorated. Great addition to the neighborhood! A return visit for dinner with the queen will happen asap.

The food was wonderful from start to finish, and the atmosphere made the experience even more special. There was something about the ambiance that took me right back to France, to those moments of breaking bread with my North African friends, surrounded by warmth, conversation, and the kind of hospitality that makes a place feel familiar the moment you walk in. I felt right at home. Fatima deserves special recognition. She was so kind to me and made me feel completely welcome. Her presence was gentle, warm, and sincere, and it elevated the entire experience. It honestly felt like I was being looked after at my Moroccan auntie's house. That kind of feeling cannot be faked, and it means a great deal. As for the food, it was amazing. The pastilla with chicken and almonds, dusted with sugar and cinnamon, was absolutely delicious, with that beautiful balance of savory richness and gentle sweetness that makes the dish so memorable. The msemmen was warm, comforting, and deeply satisfying. The merguez tajine was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The Moroccan harira had that soulful, nourishing quality that makes a great soup feel like part of the heart of the meal. The zaalouk was excellent as well, rich and flavorful and a perfect addition to everything else on the table. Dar Tajine gave us more than a meal. It gave us an experience filled with warmth, flavor, generosity, and heart. The food was amazing, the hospitality was genuine, and Fatima made a lasting impression. The space was clean with plenty of seating, and the staff was warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. They gave me time to browse the menu without any rush, and were ready to take my order the moment I decided. I went with the Falafel and Eggplant Pita Wrap, ordered exactly as it comes -- five crispy handmade falafels, roasted eggplant, hummus, tomato and cucumber salad, purple cabbage slaw, white onions, tomatoes, pickles, and lemon tahini sauce. What I loved about the presentation was how they sliced the pita and stuffed the toppings inside the pocket, then placed the eggplant and falafel on the outside before wrapping everything up tightly. It made for a much easier, cleaner eat -- no toppings tumbling out with every bite! My first bite was amazing. The fresh flavors really shined, the falafels were perfectly crispy, and the eggplant had that deep, savory roasted flavor. Every topping complemented the others beautifully, and I walked away completely satisfied. I am so happy I found this fast and healthy option close by! I also grabbed a baklava and a mango sparkling probiotic drink -- both delicious. Beyond the food, they have soft drinks, tea, and lemonade, plus a sauce bar with vinegar and oil if you want to customize your meal even further. Overall, an excellent experience from start to finish. I can't wait to come back and try their other menu options!

In summary: Best Happy Hour EVER!…read more Not only does La Cigale offer an extensive menu of happy hour entrees for $25, the restaurant also has a full range of 2-for-1 drinks. Happy hour runs daily in the bar from 5:00 to 6:30, except on Sundays when they are closed. Best bet is to get there early because the bar seats are limited and most of the diners seemed to be eating, drinking and enjoying themselves for the entire happy hour period. In addition to the traditional seats along the bar, the bar area has one long table for "communal" seating. We were initially reluctant to sit in the middle of this table, but it was perfect as we were able to learn about and see the great food selections from the "regular" happy hour visitors. (They were thoroughly enjoying the ahi tuna entree.) First things first though. The large margarita menu was tempting but we opted for wine from the even larger wine list. La Cigale allows customers to split the 2-for-1 offer rather than require one person to have two drinks. Nice! All cocktails are included in the offer, and one person in our group enjoyed a Ketel One vodka. La Cigale describes itself as a Mediterranean restaurant with selections from France, Morocco, Greece, and Italy. Their wide-ranging happy hour menu includes several pastas, seafood, chicken and meat entrees. Although this is an upscale restaurant, the happy hour options allow first-time visitors to try the various preparations on a smaller scale at a reasonable price. At the recommendation of our communal table neighbors, we split a crock of French onion soup. It was a $6 add-on to the happy hour menu. It was thick, full of onions, covered in delicious cheese, and epitomized how French onion soup should look and taste. In summary: the Best French Onion Soup EVER! One person in our group had the chicken marsala with mashed potatoes. Another had a large Caesar salad with chicken. And two of us had the chicken parmesan with a side of linguini pasta. The chicken was amazingly moist and tender. And the sauce was delicious. At the risk of being redundant: the Best Chicken Parmesan EVER! Unfortunately we were too full to enjoy anything from La Cigale's large list of tempting desserts. Maybe next time. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The noise level at the crowded communal table was a bit loud, but it did not detract from our overall excellent experience. We now understand why the other happy hour diners are "regulars" and repeatedly enjoy visiting La Cigale. We'll be back too.

We had a lovely conversation with a gentleman who was just finishing his lunch. He told us he comes here everyday. After describing his favorite meal choice, that's what we decided to order. We ordered first a medium pot of chai/tea. The owner, Assad (sp?), told us later when we asked that they add mint, dried mint, and sage to the pot. The tea was so aromatic and warming. We each had several glass cups -- with added sugar. To share, we had their mixed grill. There were 3 skewers -- one chicken, one beef, and one kofta kebab (ground meat). The meats were served over rice with a bit of salad on the side. Small containers of salad dressing and tehina were on the plate, too. I added some sumac (my favorite lemony spice) to everything. The food was very good and we left not a crumb. We were surprised to learn that the gentleman we'd previously chatted with paid for our dessert before he left! We got kunefah (kenefe/knaffe) -- my husband's favorite. It was nice and cheesy in the middle. And then as we were leaving, the owner gifted us a traditional special Ramadan "sweet" pastry. We were too full to try it there, so we brought it home for later. He said it has walnuts inside. We look forward to returning here for more middle eastern delights. Inside the style is middle eastern art and decor. They have a large menu and lunch specials are available durning weekdays. Everything that I had tasted fresh and delicious. The complimentary pickled vegetables and pita was a nice touch. For food we decided on the Shishbarak, which is an interesting combination of meat dumplings, in a creamy yogurt sauce. The Shishbarak is a very hearty dish that has a cozy warm texture. The vegetarian sampler is mix of many of the traditional favorites. However, the standouts are definitely the grape-leaves, and the babbaganou Service was good but they only had one person that was working the register, waiting tables, and bussing food. They could definitely use extra wait staff during restaurant peak hours. Make sure you leave room for dessert! The desserts are delicious especially the baklava.

I didn't visit the restaurant so cannot speak to the ambience of the restaurant. I didn't visit Uber Eats instead. But man did I love this place!!!! Cheaper than Al natour and I feel like was more food and more delicious. I ordered the mixed grill and it was enough for three people to eat lunch and dinner!!! It also came with a free baba ganoush. I will be coming here in person and I cannot wait to update my review with in person dining!!
