Uday and Angel have been absolute miracle workers! I was ready to give up on my solar panels and though they just weren't as effective as they were marketed to be. After the first year of installation, my solar panels weren't producing the same amount of energy anymore. The company that installed them were unreliable and made two trips out to try to help but my production remained at 25%. Uday really invested months into this project to help me figure out what was wrong: parts that needed to be replaced, one panel that was no longer working, pinched wires, etc. After the third error read that kept returning, he and his team still did not give up. They methodically went through each panel and resolved my issues. Now that my issues are resolved, our next step is to track our energy usage and I would like to add more panels and/or a small battery. I originally reached out for help with solar panels, but while he was there I also asked him to take a look at an issue with our dryer plug in an older home. His troubleshooting skills really stood out. He quickly identified that the issue was a disconnected breaker, but also caught something more important. A previous installer had possibly connected aluminum and copper wiring, which can be a real safety hazard if not handled correctly. He took the time to explain the risks and walked me through my options clearly. What I appreciated most was that he wasn't pushy at all. He explained that we could simply reconnect the breaker, or for a few hundred dollars more, fix it properly with a safe aluminum-to-copper junction. He left the decision entirely up to us, which made the experience feel very trustworthy. We chose the more permanent fix, and he did a great job. The installation was clean, he tested everything thoroughly, and even provided photos of the work he completed in the attic. Although EL-FI Homes is still a developing company, the owner brings a strong educational background in electrical engineering, business, and marketing, and he appears to be building a capable and balanced team as the business continues to grow. At the rental property, EL-FI Homes installed a completely new HVAC system. The project took slightly longer than expected, but it was ultimately completed successfully. An independent HERS (Home Energy Rating System) test was performed to verify that the system was installed correctly and met local energy-efficiency code requirements. A few minor findings were identified and promptly corrected. Some follow-up aesthetic work and painting were also needed, and while it took a couple of phone calls to complete those items, they were ultimately addressed. Overall, the project was completed successfully, and the tenants are satisfied, particularly with the improved cooling performance. At my personal residence, EL-FI Homes installed six solar panels along with a Tesla battery. We discussed a strategy that would allow me to maintain my previous solar panel installation under NEM 2 while adding the new panels and Tesla battery under NEM 3. The overall strategy was approved by SCE, and the installation went smoothly, with only a few minor adjustments completed shortly thereafter. One remaining issue involves the subsequent separation between NEM 2 and NEM 3, which is still being worked through with SCE. However, the owner has remained engaged and continues working toward a resolution. In my view, EL-FI Homes is experiencing the normal growing pains that many developing companies face. I appreciate that the owner engaged directly and proactively with both me and the workers to address the challenges that arose. Based on my experience, the company appears to be moving in a positive direction, learning from the issues it encounters while continuing to develop technically capable and trustworthy workers. I initially contacted this company for a same-day HVAC repair and appreciated their prompt response and lack of a diagnostic fee. Because the technician did not have the required part, I scheduled another appointment and paid a deposit towards the estimated repair costs. For reasons beyond my control I had to cancel the appointment. I was told the deposit was non-refundable, despite no prior disclosure of such a policy. While they eventually agreed to issue a refund, it took 7 days and multiple follow-up reminders before the funds were returned. Although the initial service was professional, the lack of transparency regarding the deposit and the difficulty in recovering it were disappointing. read more

Biggest hurdle was Southern California Edison approving permission to operate (PTO received 4 months after installation of solar panels). The EL-FI team was very skilled at installation. The owner is a domain expert in SOLAR, HVAC, and Electrical, and closely worked with the manufacturer to educate the fire inspector to achieve sign off. The EL-FI team immediately addressed building inspector deficiencies to achieve project permitting, sign off, and approval. Design of the system included running all the solar piping and wiring hidden from view. The solar system design and installation is "best in class". I needed to have my 3rd party solar panels removed in order to reroof. El-Fi came in with an inexpensive and responsive bid. Only one person came out to remove my 12 panels but he was able to do the job. After the reroof was done, two people came out to reinstall the panels. Unfortunately, they couldn't match the old rails so I had to pay extra to get new mounting hardware. El-Fi showed me their invoice and sold me the extra hardware at cost. They did a beautiful job with the new install until one installer got careless and broke a panel! El-Fi replaced the panel at no-charge. It took surprisingly long for them to dispose of the broken panel and the pallet that the new one came on but they got it done. All-in-all, I'm happy to have found an honest contractor that would take my small job. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

The contractor was responsive and got out to my home for an estimate quickly. I spoke with them about my future plans of getting an EV, so I needed a system that would be able to handle that eventually. I got a technical estimate, and they listened to my concerns about panel placement. I had some updates to my electrical panel and roofers at the same time that I was worried about. They had to coordinate with roofers, and I was impressed they went the extra mile to make sure the project got done on time and were there when they said they'd be. After installation, they cleaned up after themselves. Getting the panels was a stretch for the budget with the other work I'm having done, but the energy they're producing is within the estimate, and they're working like they're supposed to. When one of my microinverters stopped functioning I had to find someone to replace it. El-Fi gave me a quote and we set up an appointment for them to do the job. They arrived on time and figured out the best way to replace the microinverter. My roof is tile, so I really appreciated that they took the most efficient path to access the microinverter. They replaced the microinverter and then worked with Enphase to make sure the solar panel was working properly. They made sure everything was good before they left. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure I could see the solar panel was working on my monitoring software.
