First time trying this restaurant and we had a fantastic experience at this Mexican seafood restaurant. The Chicharron de Pescado (fried tilapia appetizer) was a perfect start crispy, flavorful, and not overly heavy. We also tried the Sinaloense cheese dip, which was rich and creamy with just the right amount of crab meat in it! The highlight, though, was the ceviche sampler. Every bite with shrimp, fish, octopus, and crab was fresh, bright, and well-seasoned easily one of the best we've had. Beyond the food, the service was just as impressive. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. This place knows how to deliver a great dining experience. Restaurant seems very popular as both times we've been the dining area is full. Both visits have been with a family gathering. After a disappointing first try we were hoping the second one would bring improvements. For our meal my wife had the regular nachos and I had the shrimp cocktail. The clump of chips covered in cheese that cane out as the nachos was a soggy mess hardly any beans and not worth the value. The cheese was tasty i will give them that but not enough save this plate. Our second plate/order the shrimp cocktail was even more of a disappointment. Not sure why they overcooked the shrimp so much, leaving it tasteless, limp, and slightly mushy. Portions are generous and condiments abundant I guess to make up for the poor main dish quality.Other first time guests at our table were also disappointed. Several folks enjoyed the in house band and even shelled out cash for song requests, but this group is not the most talented. Hard to tell at times if the musicians are playing the same song the lead vocal is singing. A lot of just chiming ( when they are not on their phone) in with just a horn blasting and adding to the very loud area. However my biggest issue with this establishment is the cleanliness which to me is at a point of breaking health violations. From seeing servers wipe eating utensils with a dirty rag, having a mascot dance around the room in a clearly filthy costume to the disgusting restroom area. I personally reported that the men's restroom needed attention at our first visit being that there was dirty/used toilet paper in one of the stalls floor. Not much has changed this second visit as stalls in the restroom had questionable stains. El Gallito needs to get up early for some detail cleaning, post critical sanitary information in restrooms, train or hire a better band, and focus on their food again. read more

This place is my guilty please in SA. I've been here a few time and service is always good. If you go during busy times, there will normally be a wait to get your food. If you're dining with family, there's arcade games for the kids to entertain themselves and love music after certain hours. The ceviche is decent, but I always come here for the sushi with Oaxaca cheese on top. It's my favorite thing. Prices are a little high for the food it is but over all it's a good casual spot to enjoy. read more

We enjoyed the vibes and the food of this place. We went here for a bday celebration of a friend on a Saturday and it was a lot of things happening in the background from the server, kids who play arcade games, a clown with skillful anime shaped balloons (it was really cool) and the non stop music. The food was really good and their drinks hit the spot. We got margaritas, beer, mules, and other more. For food it was a molcajete, enchiladas, red snapper, tacos, burrito. The service was kind of hard to rate. She did her best I know since there was A LOT of people but it took us 1hr to get our drinks and another 1hr to get our food. So it took us 3hrs in total not included the wait time. It seems like most people go here to drink more than dining in and eat. Also if you can, bring a friend that can speak spanish as the language barrier was hard even their menu indicates english and spanish, plus with loud music. Yet! Despite of all the downsides we had fun in this place and for sure we will go back. read more

FIRST TIME VISIT Was here for a private party but food was provided by the restaurant so much of my review will be based on that. The restaurant is located in a spot just off the 410 that I had driven past thousands of times! Never knew it existed, so I'm glad for this private event I attended. I like to know what food options are available to me in the community. Food obsessed? You betcha! Parking is ample but no lines to clearly mark each stall, so while most vehicles were pretty respectful, there were those that took up two stalls. There are a few handicapped stalls but they can be easily missed as the paint is terribly faded and immediately in front of the restaurant, as many disabled persons might need. At least from what I noticed. This restaurant boasts live banda music. Someone told me this is the case nightly, but I cannot confirm. The restaurant space is large and the place is packed on this Friday night. Service is bustling and no employee is seen twiddling thumbs, hiding in a corner or on their cell phone. Management must be on top of things. They also have a private room to rent, which is where I am directed to by staff. There is a fee for rental, the space held about 12 6' rectangle tables, a front "stage" set up for the emcee and photo backdrop, food tables to one side of the room and about 45-65 people in attendance which really packed this space. You can bring in your own food, just no alcohol. The food that was catered to our little shindig was purchased from the restaurant. Refried beans, white rice w/corn, mixed meat fajita (I noticed strips of steak and sausage slices) with veggies, tortillas and fettuccine Alfredo and set up buffet style for self-service. The rice was fine. Not very flavorful, but since it's white rice it gets a "pass". The beans are super thick and pasty and not easy to transfer to your plate. Flavor is fine, texture tells me it is puréed and the color has some red in it which tells me it is seasoned with something (I was hoping chorizo was the culprit) but I could not verify. The fajitas were not great. It was strange to have (super thin) slices of smoked sausage in it and tiny strips of steak that was so soft, it disintegrated in my mouth which was weird. My favorite thing about it would be the onions and bell pepper. The fettuccine Alfredo was gross. Overcooked noodles in a bottled sauce with slices of chicken. Nothing about this dish was impressive. Note: don't eat Italian food from a Mexican establishment. But hey, beware that this restaurant also serves sushi so.... LOL! Overall, I liked how efficient the staff seemed with set up of the food and bar service to our room. The food that was chosen was meh. If I ever came back, I would like to try other items from their menu. read more

To the management who refused service to my son and his friend. Let me apologize for his naïveté towards this experience. What he should have done was recorded your suspicion that he was drunk and have the police be called to do a volunteer sobriety test. You felt so threatened by a 22 year old Asian person so I'm sure the police would want to address that. We have a family attorney if needed if this situation had escalated. You checked his ID and still refused his entry. I know he's very youthful looking which is quite a nice attribute to have. My son has had limited exposure on a minority group since for 20 years he's only known them through our yard serviceman and housekeeper. Regardless, I have raised him to respect all cultures so he was taken aback by this gross discrimination. I have advised him to focus on himself, be proud of his ethnicity (youthfulness and all), finishing up college this spring and not let some minimum wage food service troll on a pathetic power trip ruin a night for him. read more

Came here today after my sons martial arts practice. We were hungry and just picked the first place we saw. It's just so happened be el Gallito. I still remember when it was the Chinese buffet. I forget the name. Lets start of with the ambience. It is completely redone, and looks nothing like it did before. It's nice, but has a very club like cringe to it. I think that is what they were going for. So they pulled that off. Love the open kitchen and has a very long bar. I can see the younger crowd loving it. The food was honestly very good. The sauces and the fact that they had hand made corn tortillas were one of the pluses! Let's start off with my sons shrimp enchiladas. Very generous portion, and the flavor was amazing. He loved it. We tried them and they were really good. My better half got the bistro tacos. They were really good, kinda hard to mess them up. Our plates came with a side of charro beans, which we loved(love when restaurants don't just give you old refried beans). I had the chicken fajitas. So here is my gripe. They were dry, because they were chicken breast. The better restaurants use chicken thighs for the fajitas, and they are much juicer and flavorful. They were well seasoned, and the white rice was also a great touch. We will be back to try other menus items. We thought with the decor it was going to be pricey, it was the opposite. Place was busy and loud but even though we had a big party the food came out quickly and was so good! The cheese enchiladas were spicy which did not expect just wish it was notated on menu for us not so fluent in Spanish, so other that and the waitress did take a bit to refill the drinks but understandable cause it was busy. I was surprised at the sushi, i ordered it fried and it was delicious. They had a band playing and they would walk around and interact. It was a different experience. Our server was wonderful and attended to our large group the entire night. However, the food is disgusting. I ordered the filete de ajo and we also ordered the camaron de ajo. The fish filet was drenched in butter and the shrimp had no flavor at all and was also drenched in butter. I understand the sauce consists of butter, garlic and whatever else. However, it was as if they just drenched it in melted butter. I feel sick just thinking about it. The music is entirely way too loud. If you like not being able to hear one another while speaking, then this is the place for you. I think this place makes good looking alcoholic beverages but all the food we ordered (fried fish, caldo etc) was so gross. The food was either over or under seasoned. The food here is amazing!!! We always come for a celebration or just to enjoy a nice seafood meal. We have never had problems with any of the waiters they have treated us respectfully. But today was different we had this waiter call Gisselle and she gave us several problems. My sister and I were just there ( yes we are young 21& 23 but we have a good paying job enough to afford going there as many times as we like ) Gisselle brought to my sister the wrong drink and we didn't think much of it since some times we have a lot on our mind and as a waiter it's a lot . ( but that should have been a red flag) she then again brought me my order wrong too!! . Then she vanish for several minutes and we were just done with her, then the manager came to ask us if we were okay, we kindly asked for to-go boxes and the check. Our waiter finally returns and asked us if we were alright, just as my sister is telling her "he (the manager) is bringing us to-go boxes", the waiter interrupts her and says "Yeah but I am your waiter" , well okay ma'am where were you for the last 10 minutes? Amazing food and drinks for a VERY affordable price. We came here for a birthday dinner and loved the experience. From the live music, to the food options, all the way down to the service, everything was on point. My boyfriend and I both ordered a margarita with an entree each and it came out to less than $50. Super bang for your buck when it comes to the food as it is hot and fresh. I would recommend this place for a birthday celebration, a pregame spot, or for a date night. This is one of those places that looks... well, I wouldn't necessarily go in by the looks on the outside. The food though... AMAZING! Service? AMAZING! The epitome of do not judge a book by its cover. I will be returning again soon and will highly recommend to everyone near.
