Don't come here for good Mexican food. It has no flavor. The view of the food looks good and then you taste it and it's awful. The dishes were dirty and broken. The other patrons are not thoughtful of others and coughing over the food and making a mess at the buffet tables. As for the staff, they are hard working and attentive.

We went on a Saturday afternoon, it was busy, and I like that because the food does not stay under the heat lamp or on the steam table too long. Depending on the time that you go It's either $0.50 or $1 cheaper if you pay in cash. If you're 60 and over its only a $0.50 discount. It's pricier on the weekend than on weekdays. They also have some Chinese food and a tray of crawfish boil. The mundeo and pozole are good. The enchiladas and chicken mole are a fast-moving dish; wait a few minutes, and the tray will be restocked. The cornbread was amazingly moist rather than dry. Wish that they had an ice cream machine rather than scoop your own ice cream, you don't know if someone dropped anything into the ice cream. They have fried and baked fish. The fresh tortillas are good. They have camote! I was too full to even try the camote.

The buffet was not all that! The choices were many but the taste of the food was poor. The banana pudding was PUDDING & COOKIES. All the ice cream was sherbert except the vanilla icream. The tres Leches cake was hard, not like soft regular white cake. The fried shrimp was overally breaded, the tamales were not from Delicious, but the BBQ ribs & the baked chicken were good. The Chinese noodles were ok, the beef & broccoli sauce was sweet, the bow tie pasta salad dressing was mayo and not Italian dressing. Overall, I did not like this buffet, but I like the other Vallarta Hacienda on Bandera Road. Everyone has a different palate, I would not return, but you might like this buffet. RECOMMEDATION: I will not be returning to this restaurant.

We keep going back to Hacienda Vallarta Mexican Buffet in San Antonio because it consistently delivers an unbeatable experience. The buffet offers a wide variety of authentic Mexican dishes, from sizzling fajitas and enchiladas to fresh salsas and sweet desserts, all packed with flavor and made with care. The ambience is warm and inviting, with a vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere that makes it perfect for gatherings or casual meals. The customer service is outstanding--the staff is always friendly, attentive, and quick to make sure you have everything you need. Whether it's the delicious food, welcoming vibe, or exceptional service, Hacienda Vallarta never disappoints!

The food was mediocre, at best and the service was terrible. We had to get up and ask one of the women refilling the buffet for drinks and tortillas. She was kind enough to get them for us apologizing profusely on behalf of the waitress. This same waitress must have been bothered by the fact that we ousted her because she didn't ask if we needed refills or tortillas. She passed our table several times and never stopped until seconds before we were leaving to sloppily pour a refill into my husband's glass without asking what he was drinking. I guess that last move was to earn the tip. NOPE! We gave the tip to the woman who stopped what she is paid to do to serve us. I believe the bad waitresses name was "Rox".

I have been going to this restaurant for years and now I have now been to both locations and I prefer the location on Bandera Road.

Ok. Nice place, but food is just ok. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat there unless I was in the area and really in the mood for Mexican food

From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was special. The atmosphere is beautiful, upscale, and inviting. The architecture and design throughout the restaurant are absolutely stunning. Even the restrooms were impressive and reflected the same attention to detail found throughout the entire establishment. The food was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. This isn't your typical restaurant experience--the menu is creative, unique, and offers something different. You can tell a lot of thought goes into both the preparation and presentation of every plate. What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the customer service. My waitress, Kreizon, was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made me feel welcome throughout my visit. Great service can make a good meal even better, and she definitely elevated the entire experience. The outdoor dining area is also beautiful and creates a relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying a meal and taking in the surroundings. If you're looking for a restaurant that offers exceptional food, incredible ambiance, unique architecture, and top-notch customer service, Domingo is a must-visit. This is more than just dinner--it's an experience. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in San Antonio.

Electronic dance music pulsed quietly in the background. The toilets were all individual unisex stalls that were classy, mine had run out of hand towels. Also, the entire restaurant is very dimly lit. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu, but I have poor eyesight so there's that, but it might explain the quality of the photos I took. The Paloma drink was amazing. It had a great spicy zing in the back of the throat after every sip. Queso was... kinda plain. It might have been better with the add chorizo option. It was very thick. Shrimp cocktail was big, but we started fighting over the shrimp pieces. There was plenty of onion and tomato left over after the batttle. Pollo Asado was a great flavor and the chicken was juicy. Grilled squash that was on the side was good. Chicken enchiladas were good and had freshly sliced jalapeños, which is always a welcome detail. I wasn't able to taste the quesadilla but my daoughter said it was "really good". Fried Chicken sandwich had a great flavor and the bacon was actually pork belly if I'm not mistaken. Sadly there was more batter than chicken. The seasoned fries were delicious and crispy.

It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.
