Wow! Driven by here so many times and finally stopped in. So yummy. Wanted a round two Sunday but…read morethey were closed. Had Sonoran hot dog, Yaqui taco with carne asada, and a deluxe bean burrito. Hot dog was outstanding- better than Guero Canelo. Soft bun hiding the chargrilled dog surrounded by beans, pico, mayo, mustard ... everything that makes these do addictive. The taco has so much filling you can easily make it into two tacos. Condiment bar is fantastic!!! One of the toppings was an interesting cucumber/mushroom relish with a slight soy sauce flavor. Lots of salsas to choose from - we tried them all and they're killer. Looking forward to a return trip soon.

No. I think you can live in Tucson, or visit Tucson and never try this place and you'd not miss it. I will say though the Sonaran Hot Dogs are good. The Al Pastor is good. Those definitely are solid options. But none of it is great. Not to the degree of giving this a high marked review, you know? It's definitely "Tucson Good". Which to real foodies, is barely okay most of the time. I've been to this location several times, and finally just stopped. Even had a date here. The service has never been exceptional, it's hit or miss on cleanliness, and the food is just okay. The Carne Asada is absolute trash, and I despise that it's mentioned as one of the best in the city, cause it is NOT. See my other Tucson reviews as I go out of my way to try Carne Asada here. Nene isnt good enough to be mentioned there. This place is barely okay, and it might do for a quick hot dog, but otherwise of that, nah.

Got into my hotel at 9 and started to feel hungry! After a quick search, I found "bacon wrapped…read moreburrito" and that was the obvious choice. Percheron Mexican grill is just a food truck with some outdoor covered seating. If that's not your thing, they also have a real restaurant 3 minutes away. The menu is pretty sizable (literally and physically)! The classic Percheron is diezmillo steak, mozzarella, avocado, tomato, onion, mayo, wrapped in a flour tortilla and bacon! $15. I was behind two parties of two and my food took 15 minutes. I opted to take the food to go, since it was 9:45 pm. Thats always a risk because the food might not be as fresh as when it's freshly served. The woman ahead of me asked for well done crispy bacon wrap. I should have done the same, but I wanted to try it the standard way first. I really wanted to love this, but the standard soggy bacon wrap is not my thing. My stomach could not cope with the grease either -- this looks like pretty low quality bacon that is mostly fat. I was pretty disappointed and only finished half!

Yes the place is in not the best neighborhood but the burrito makes up for it. At first I was a little worried when I read mayo as an ingredient in their carne asada burrito but i figured it's there for a reason and ordered as is. It was 10/10 delish! The meat was perfect the tortilla was killer! So good that on our last day in town we picked up breakfast burritos from there. Sooooo giant and soooo delish! Thank you!

This used to be the Taco Fish food truck. The owner sold it to one of his long-time employees…read more (Taco Fish still has their brick-and-mortar on 12th Ave.) Same recipes. Same prices. Same menu. Same five star goodness. I've had fish tacos all over town. Went to all the 4+ star reviewed places. This still reigns as THE best fish tacos in town for me, period. First of all, value. You get two corn tortillas and enough fish to make two tacos. For $3, that's a bargain. Then you can top it off with the condiments. There no longer is the salsa bar like they used to, but it is in a big Igloo cooler. I didn't take a look into it because I ordered this to go and one of the employees (his wife or girlfriend?) made a to-go tray for me. (See pic.) Really good fish and good batter. He says he worked for them for six years so when this came up, he bought it. Except for the salsa bar, everything's the same. Between 5th and 6th on Grant in the big lot. I highly recommend it. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

So, I haven't went anywhere to specifically try Carne Asada in Tucson for a while, and I know, I…read moreneed to get out more, I am a Yelp Elite after all, right? So I changed that and went to Zahid's. So to remind you, good Carne Asada has the following: 1. Seasoned 2. Juicy 3. Tender 4. Good cut(no grisle, not cut like kibble ect) So Zahid's is mildly seasoned, it's juicy, but not super juicy? But that's because it was chopped to all hell so it was like steak kibble. But the cut itself was of solid quality so it wasn't wholly bad, but I also wasn't excited by it. It was tender, but again, that was minimized because they chopped it like Parsely. The burrito had mozzarella cheese and cabbage. I was under the impression it came with beans in it, but it didn't, they came on the side. I think that was better, the beans were in a watery, yet flavorful broth that would've masked the mild flavored steak. I really wanted to give this 4 stars, but I can't on this slightly above average Carne Asada. What made this burrito good was the pickled onions and jalapeño salsa. But sauce or salsa in this case, shouldn't carry your food. At all. That means you're not making it right. Anyway, it's worth noting the tortilla was really good and the burro, a medium, was a decent size. I will return to get the Al Pastor, it looked good. But for Asada? Probably not? If I did, it would be a taco.
