Little Mexico might look like a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant, but it's truly a hidden gem inside that hole. We ordered two plates of their cream enchiladas, and I was really impressed with the flavor. Before our meal arrived, they served us chips with cheese, salsa, and a creamy dip -- all delicious! The service was great, too. The staff was kind and attentive, refilling our drinks before they were even empty and taking our order quickly. The only downside is the parking lot -- it's pretty small -- but honestly, that's minor compared to how enjoyable the whole experience was. This little gem of a restaurant sits right in the hood. Don't let that bother you cause the food is off the hook. My shrimp enchiladas were savory and delicious. My daughter's tacos were superb. I have been to this place SOOO many times over the years. I grew up in the area so this was one of our go to for Mexican food. I have since moved but stop in from time to time when visiting. This trip wasn't the best. The service was great and the margaritas were good, but the food was lacking. The green corn tamales were mushy and cold when arrived and the beef tacos were all lettuce and hardly any meat at all. I mean a TON of lettuce. It was ridiculous how much lettuce was on this plate. It was a Saturday afternoon and the place was fairly quiet. Kind of shocked but maybe the food has gone down hill. I'll have to se eon the next trip to Tucson and see if it got better again. This place was close to our rental house when we came for the gem show. We were starving. Wait staff was fast and efficient, cinnamon tea delicious and the food was to die for. In my search of the best bean burrito on the southside I have made it to Little Mexico. First off let me just say that I was not impressed by the price. Roff the bat, they said that the burrito was $9.51 after tax. Holy cow!!!! That's just bean with cheese and tortilla right?! Now, I had to try it. I thought their beans were the best I've tried so far (sorry los jarritos, Jaliscos, los betos, etc.). They are the most expensive so far with los Betos being the cheapest but I have to admit you get what you pay for. If you are in the mood for some vegetarian alternative at a Mexican food restaurant. I highly suggest getting their bean and cheese burrito because it comes with chips salsa It's a lil pricey. The best bean and cheese burrito so far that I've tried on the South side. This was a recommendation from the hotel staff where I am staying. This place is amazing! The very friendly wait staff starts you off with fresh chips and salsa when you take your seat. Generous margaritas are brought shortly there after. In my combo, dish there was a tamale cheese enchilada, beef taco, a stuffed chili, beans and rice. Everything was delicious. They had two areas one where we were sitting had multiple locals enjoying meals and the other area had a large party that was also enjoying. This restaurant is a little gem that we had never visited and landed at for breakfast when we were unable to locate another restaurant. So glad! Staff was very friendly and service was great. It looks small from the outside but is actually pretty big when you walk in. If felt pretty clean, and appears to be a neighborhood favorite. I had the Chilaquiles, the hubs had the Huevos Rancheros. Both were really good. I would say, in my search for the best Chilaquiles in the world - there's are solid. They bring you chips/salsa to start. We stopped in at their restaurant on Irvington, even though the area is a bit beaten down, the welcome and vibe inside was fantastic! We were greeted with big "hellos" and seated in minutes, then quickly presented with hot fresh chips n salsa. Our cousin recommended the flat enchilada dinner and we were not disappointed! We did start with their green chili tortilla crisp appetizer, really good. One family member ordered their enchilada with asada and he was just as pleased with his meal. Tried this place again after a disappointing meal about a month ago, (enchiladas). This time I had the red chili con carne with rice and beans plus shrimp albondigas soup. No disappointment this time. Red chili con carne was excellent, meat was tender and tasty. Shrimp albondigas was a Friday special and was very good. I also decided to use this location for a catered event. I usually use another Mexican restaurant, however thought I would use Little Mexico. I ordered 4 dozen mini chimis with rice and bean. Also ordered chiliquiles, enough for 20 people. Food was right on time. The guests all loved it. Even though I picked the food up and it's a little farther away, I think I would use them again. I attended a catered event a day before ours and attached a photo of Little Mexico's mini chimi and the other restaurants mini chimi. I'll be going back again. Also want to give a shout out to Ana, our server at Little Mexico for our lunch. She was phenomenal, genuine and caring. read more

Not sure what happened. Came in for old-time Favorite sour cream enchiladas. Tortillas was so hard I could chew them plate was so hot. You couldn't touch it so that tells me it either sat in the oven too long or something. Not a good experience. read more

This place is lucky it's receiving even one star !! Food was TERRIBLE !! One cheese enchilada had a terrible blackened looking sauce that tasted totally burnt. The cheese was so fake it didn't even melt. A green corn tamale that was nothing but a plate of mush that you could suck through a straw. The michelada took 25 minutes to arrive and tasted like they dumped an entire bottle of Tabasco in it. I had to ask for a glass of water three times before receiving it after 20 minutes of asking. This place is probably not frequented by those only visiting Tucson as it's definitely off the beaten path and not in the best area, but the food was good and it was recommended by a local. The carnitas chimichanga was great! Portion size was huge and I ate it across two meals. The house margarita was good and my friends enjoyed the premium margarita too. The salsa was amazing and so flavorful! I only wish we had more of it. We got one basket of chips and a single 2oz cup of salsa to split among 5 people. Additional baskets of chips/salsa are an additional charge (2.35 a basket I think?). I get times are tough but people generally don't want to share the same tiny cup of salsa -germs or not that really isn't enough salsa for a single basket of chips even. I asked for a side of salsa with my Chimi and was charged $2+ for it as well. read more

Food is delicious, but the Workers in the front are always RUDE!! Picked up an order for food and the bigger female late 30s or early 40s is very rude! she has a horrible attitude. I have moods where I MUST have one, and Little Mexico scratches that itch. Of course, they bring you chips and salsa when you're seated. But at Little Mexico you get salsa and this quest-sour cream dip? It's weird to describe but actually very tasty and a much better palate cleanser than the salsa. I ordered the "Little Mexico Cheese Crisp" which is topped with green chiles, green onion and tomato; a little bit of salsa on top and it absolutely hits the spot. Based on the location, friendliness, salsa and cheese crisp they get a -5- hands down my second favorite cheese crisps in Tucson! read more

The cheese sauce the chips and salsa my absolute favorite thing. I literally get a to go of their salsa to take back with me because that's how amazing it is. I can't name one thing on their menu that isn't good.The bonus is you can have breakfast all day long.
