The mole is a complex blend of flavors that remind me of warm spiced chocolate with a hint of sweet cinnamon to balance the heat. The sopes were my favorite! My son & I were starving by the time we reached Manteca and we relied on yelp to direct us to some good Mexican food eats. He found this place and we were very satisfied. The restaurant ambiance gave a traditional modern upscale feel. Service was great and everyone we encountered from hostess, bus boy and server were all very nice. They also display what looks like local artists' work in one of the dining areas where we sat which was impressive to me. Horchata is served with fresh cinnamon powder sprinkled up top & food quality matches ambiance and level service. Pricey? Sort of but worth every cent. We got what we paid for. read more

This place is consistently good. Love the cabbage, tomato & jalapeño salsa they serve along with the regular salsa. The chips are good and always include a few flour tortilla chips along with the corn. My husband and I have been here numerous times before. We decided to try the chicken mocahete. We each got a side of rice and beans, garnish and tortillas. It was very good! The service is always prompt. This place really gets crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. The bar gets crowded too! Once you are seated and order, you get your food pretty quickly. We ate too many chips, salsa & cabbage salsa to finish our meal. We took the rest home for lunch the next day! read more

The wife and I met up on a lunch date. She wanted Mexican food so we went with El Jardin since we Are familiar with their food. Our server who wore glasses was super nice. Very helpful for sure. If you're looking for a family sit down dinner and enjoying great Mexican food this is the place to go. El Jardin's is one of my all time favorite Mexican "sit down" spots. They have the best atmosphere, staff is so friendly, one in particular is I think a manager now, but has been there for atleast 15 years since I've been in Manteca. He is the friendliest and always joking, checking on tables that aren't even his. The food is excellent, and the chips..mixed corn and flour...amazing! My recommendations are the fajita salad (I always do chicken and add steak), or the Enchiladas del Mar (stuffed with crab), or the pollo con queso (chicken with a cheese sauce), OMG soooo good!! Infact, El Jardin, be ready, I think it's in my very near future...their bar is excellent too if you need a little relaxation, great margaritas, mixed drinks and its always packed! read more

We miss going to our favorite restaurant in Manteca since the lockdown started. Their food has always be beyond fresh and so tasty. We discovered yesterday that they are serving takeout! We called in our order and picked it up in 20 minutes. Everything was perfect. They even threw in bean dip for free! So far, this is the closest to being the best Mexican food in town: large portions, always busy, plenty of seating. A few on staff are a bit awkward but it doesn't take away from the experience of the food itself. It sucks when the staff at an establishment is the only thing keeping the business from its full potential. Always a great meal! My daughter has a gluten allergy and she loves this place! Since we discovered her allergy we are pretty limited to where she can dine. It's a given when I ask where she'd like to go. Jardin is always her reply. We ask for only corn chips since they also serve flour. The bartenders serve up a well poured cocktail and the staff is like family to one another. The owner is a kind man that comes out and talks to his customers often.
