We just want green salsa the one pictured is sour and very lemony

What happen to just regular green salsa please bring it back :( this place is good. Also can my hubby just order a side of mole please make this a thing again back then he could but now they have changed the rules here and there they will let him buy it.

Ok so the food was excellent tasting. I got Shrimp Tacos, 1 a la Parrilla and 1 breaded. The parrilla came with veggies on a corn tortilla(2) and unfortunately dissolved with the juices so I ate it more like a taco salad, the bread one came on a large flour tortilla and with some lettuce and avocado definitely looked less appealing than the parrilla one, could use some chipotle sauce to help out the flavor. My biggest negative was the time, it took them 40 minutes to give me my food and I ordered at 1:20 got food at 2:02. Lucky I had an hour lunch that day but I could have been told ahead of placing my order incase I was in a hurry and had a 30 minute lunch. Will be back at different time to see if service is faster.

This place is the spot for shrimp cocktails! When I tell you that this is the best I think I've ever had! The broth in the cocktail is so flavorful and doesn't need anything added. They give you a side of habanero salsa that adds such great spiciness. So many shrimp that you get one in every bite and plenty of avocado too. You get complimentary chips and a self-serve salsa bar which had so many delicious options. Their green salsa and avocado salsa were my favorite. My husband had the shrimp burrito and loved it as well! This is 100% my go to spot for mariscos now and I can't wait to try other items.

Carne asada burrito and shrimp cocktail. Reasonably priced, considering the hike in most things nowadays. Burrito came on a hot plate. Taste was good, but had some grizzle. The plating was boring. It was just a burrito on a white plate. Shrimp cocktail (large size) was good but a bit too sweet. It had a lot of shrimp which was good. Service: No server. Order at the counter, and a person will bring food to your table. Overall, no regret in trying out a new place but not a place I would return to eagerly.

Here on a trip from Seattle to visit family we wanted some good Mexican food, and we got it here! The coctel grande was incredible and absolutely full of delicious chunks of tender seafood, great value. The service was super nice and welcoming. It was a wonderful day to sit outside at the nice shaded tables. I would love to come here again!

Tried this spot for weekend lunch. One fish, one shrimp. Two tacos were a big filling lunch. The only downside for me, I would prefer corn to flour tortillas. All of the salsas I tried from the salsa bar were excellent. Think I may have done myself a disservice by ordering tacos here because all of the other tables were getting great looking tostadas and cocteles. I will have to come back to try those items! Give this place a try when in North Ventura.

This place has changed so much over the last weeks/months I go in and don't see Jarocho the owner anymore, maybe they changed owners? Before everyone used to be super nice & welcoming. The food was so amazing. Today I was very disappointed customer service is change and so is the taste. What a disappointment I hope jarocho is back soon or this business is going downhill. Ladies are very rude and unprofessional. read more

It has been a while since the first time I that I dared try the delicious shrimp cocktail that this places servers up. Time after time the owner has put out a great seafood cocktail keeping up the consistency and flavor each time. The only reason for the downgrade on the stars from 5 to 4 is the rest of the menu. I can't in good conscience say that this place serves good or decent Mexican food because they don't. I have tried a variety of menu items and every single one has disappointed. It sucks because I know the seafood cocktails are good but when I go with someone who doesn't like fish, there is not anything else I can recommend to them. Oh well, at least this is a my go-to place for a cocktails and I'll just leave the Mexican food to other restaurants that can prepare a decent meal. read more

If you are craving a shrimp cocktail this is the place to come. The restaurant is very small so it does have limited seating. I recently ordered a shrimp cocktail but with no pulp. I placed a pick up order and they are always quick with to go orders. The employees are always friendly too. I would love to try more items on their menu but you can never go wrong with a shrimp cocktail. read more

Delicious hidden joint in Ventura! There's so many great seafood spots in the area but we came across this one on Yelp and it did not disappoint. We ordered the shrimp ceviche, the mixed ceviche, and fish tacos. All were fresh, flavorful, and the portions were good. The grilled fish tacos are definitely big but yummy! My favorite were the salsas THEY WERE ALL AMAZINGLY AUTHENTIC. I haven't been to a restaurant that has 5 homemade salsas that all taste fantastic, 10/10. The restaurant and parking lot are both small but they do have some tables out front and there is street parking available. They are busy and people were sharing the few available seats. Its a friendly community that will pass the large hot sauce around for everyone to have some. Small side note, the prices you see online are definitely accurate. Just FYI. I definitely recommend and plan to visit again. read more

A great place to go eat seafood or Mexican food in general. Their cockteles de camarón are very good and have a lot of shrimp they don't skimp out on the seafood at all. I also like to eat their pollo empanizado. They are quick to bring your order out and the service is overall great. Only giving 4 stars because the location is very small and I wish they had more seating. read more

Best cocteles around. If you've never had a coctel, you should, especially on a hot day. The staff is always friendly and their service is as good if not better than the food. Trust me, im big on service. Their menu is pretty extensive also, so there's plenty to choose from if you don't want the coctel, but definitely recommended. Thank you Jarocho! read more

Drive by the place multiple times when I come down to work so I decide to stop by and have some breakfast. Small hole in the wall place with some of the tastiest food on the block!! They had out door seating and the staff is very friendly. They brought out some chips and salsa and the food came out pretty quick!! I was happy to stop by and support this small business. Let's just say I am beyond disappointed. How is a seafood spot that brags about how long they've been in the seafood business not DEVEIN the shrimp!!!! Stopped buy on a perfect spring day with a desire for shrimp tacos! I ordered 2 and with the tip it was $20 for 2 tacos. I thought I found the ultimate spot for that price, yet I was as mentioned beyond disappointed. Every shrimp still had the shitty vein still intact!! To top it off it was two flimsy tortilla with fajita peppers, a bagged salad mix and some sauce that tasted like watered down thousand island dressings. It was busy with a steady supply of people coming in and out and I'm sure some of the standard items they make that are not seafood may be good but I won't be back unfortunately after seeing the lack of prep on the shrimp. read more

This place was not bad , wish I would have got the seafood though. I was craving a burrito so I ordered a California drenched in green sauce , their green sauce was really tasty , flavorful with a hint of spice. The California burrito could have had more meat in it and maybe a bit more cheese and French fries but it was overall pretty good but not amazing . They give you some chips and salsa while you wait again the green sauce in my opinion was the best followed by the pico style salsa and then the red salsa. The pics of the seafood looked pretty darn good, wish I would have ordered some instead. I also got a taco de buche as a starter and that was freakin amazing I'd definitely order that again and I hear their Al Pastor is pretty good too. Overall good experience , I like that it's easy to get to right off the avenue , And they have a nice size patio with tables to eat outside. read more

If you enjoy a delicious cocktail then I recommend you come here! I drive across town to come get what I consider the best shrimp cocktail in the county, maybe even southern Cali. and believe me I've had a few from San Diego al the way up state Morgan Hill. The seafood dish with chorizo, however, was actually very good. We also ordered the Wagyu burger with garlic fries, which was delicious, and the cochinita pibil tacos, which were also enjoyable. Overall, everything was good except for the hamachi. The drinks were fine, the atmosphere was nice, and we had a pleasant experience. That said, it wasn't really a "wow" experience that would make me want to come back. For the price, I think it's okay, but I wouldn't say it's an especially great value.

Ericssons Fish Co. was far and wide the best place I've eaten at and it's not remotely close. The restaurant is situated right on the peer, so the ocean views are amazing. It's hard being a server and Jackson may have working at a first of second job (she looked 17-18) but she was a star. Well done Jackson...keep up the good work.

I told Dear Hubby that fish & chips at the harbor seemed like a great idea, and he agreed. Initially, I tried to get us a table upstairs at Brophy Brothers, overlooking the water. That was going to be about an hour's wait, so we retreated downstairs to Brophy's fast casual option - On The Alley. Essentially, it's the same fish & chips recipe, so all good there. The line was short and moved pretty quickly. While DH finished up ordering, I went out to the indoor-outdoor room to scout a table. I wasn't able to get one against the window, but we were still able to have a water view, just a bit further away. DH was hungry, so he ordered a burger, as well as the fish & chips. He shared a small portion of said burger, and it was really good. At a Brophy's establishment, I think of seafood, but thumbs up on that burger! The portion of fries they provided were extra generous. We missed having Adored Granddaughter with us, as she would have help demolish those fries! We brought some home to revive in the air fryer. I only had water, as they don't really have any beverage options that work with my restrictive dietary preferences. (i.e., no caffeine, and low- or no-sugar). The fish & chips hit the spot, although the fish was somewhat oilier than usual. DH got a cup of their delicious clam chowder, which was served with their delicious sourdough bread. That I got to have some of, and happier for it. Sunday afternoon at the harbor made for a great spot to people-watch. There were lots of folks who seemed like they had come from points east to get a break from the heat, just like us. We all tend to have a look that doesn't portray "Ventura local". Lots of young families, which was nice to see. Made us miss our granddaughter, for sure.
