Came here to catch up with a friend and it was the cutest little coffee shop! There were lots of seating options and we felt so welcomed. The coffee was delicious, they have a lot of classic options and others with a Latino twist. We got the horchata iced latte and it was phenomenal. New in the neighborhood. There aren't enough coffee and great food places in San Marcos so I was excited when this place opened up. I hate Better Buzzed and Starbucks. This place did not disappoint. The Mexican Mocha is great. Coffee is roasted well, staff is very friendly. Those who say there isn't enough food in there.. .give it time.. they are new and working on it I'm sure. I walked into El Kafecito expecting coffee, but instead I was spiritually tackled by the aroma of pan de muerto doing the cha-cha slide in my nostrils. I ordered one and a drink, though I'm not sure which drink because the menu suddenly started speaking French to me and I panicked and pointed at something pink. The pan de muerto was so soft it whispered "follow your dreams" into my ear, which was weird because I was sitting alone. I took one bite and immediately remembered every math problem I've ever gotten wrong. Truly humbling. The sugar on top sparkled like it had business advice to give me. My drink tasted like if a cloud got confused and became a liquid. Was it coffee? Was it juice? Was it emotional support? No one knows. Halfway through, the straw bent itself like it was disappointed in my life choices. The vibes in El Kafecito were immaculate--like if a cozy café and a mildly chaotic grandmother fused together and offered you a blanket. The chair tried to scoot away from me twice, so points for personality. Would I return? Absolutely. My left shoe is still there anyway. read more

They offer quick service and friendly staff. At times the owner can be seen behind the counter serving you first hand. I have tried and recommend the vanilla latte and dulce de leche is one my sister likes. The ambience is calm, they have spanish music you might easily recognize. The hours are great, I wish this place was put up sooner while I had more classes to study for. It's October 3rd 2025, was feeling tired and was really needing fuel for my body and whapam! As I was driving something told me to turn my head to the left and I saw "El Kafecito" so decided to stop there to support small business. As I walk in was greeted with no respect, barista looked tired herself she looked miserable and right away "I was like, this isn't going to be good" so I still went ahead and ordered a drink, pricing is cheap which I was shocked, so I ordered a tres leches latte iced by the way, and mind y'all it give you a headache, way too sweet and the barista looked like she was about to collapse with she was so out of it that my drink came out with a headache and passed it down to me! There was no vibe in that location it all over the place, I didn't feel like myself, felt like if I was someone else I didn't know. All I am going to say is that this isn't COFFEE this is MADNESS. I will not be coming back, I went in to feel and look better and came out feeling the worst I've ever been, and looked like a monster on top of it!!! Sorry but not recommending to my coffee enthusiasts. Ps. Someone give the barista H2O she is drinking to much sugar in a cup that she is out of it!!! Handing out dizzy ass cups to paying customers like myself and we getting dizzy here too!! Small but great coffee shop! Had no idea it existed until I looked up a new coffee shop to go to for studying. The place is cute, fairly open, and has a number of seats. There are outlets for studying and are one of the few coffee shops that stay open past 5 pm which is very convenient for students. Prices are very affordable being less than $7 on average. I will be coming back to try almost everything on their specialties menu. read more

In town for biz, I looked for an independent coffee shop. Being from Seattle we like our coffee. but find Starbucks and the like less than mediocre and they don't need my money. Shop indi whenever you can! I plunked down a $5 bill for a 4 buck 8oz latte and left. The shop was a little light on the baked goods but I was eating latter anyway. Down the road I took a first sip. First time coming I had two young ladies make my dulce de leche warm coffee, I had high expectations of it being sweet hence the literal name of the coffee. I received my coffee and it exceeded my expectations! It was soo delicious and sweet, I had told myself this was my go to coffee place from now on! I came back a second time, this time a man making my coffee. I expected same taste as someone would when ordering the same exact coffee.... It wasn't, it was genuinely so bad, it wasn't sweet at all, tasted like straight up bread I decided to believe that maybe something was done wrong!
