I hand selected two dozen donuts and the employee working was friendly and helpful. I was a little shocked to see that my total was $45 but it is what it is. The glaze donuts are a staple and the filled jelly was also a winner. I wish I was able to try a bunch of them but how many donuts can one person eat?! I would love to see a couple options of donut holes but it's possible I missed them during my visit. I'll continue to stop in for special occasions for the team.

Compared to the St. Paul location, which I find a bit too busy, this café felt much more relaxed and enjoyable. The service was friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. I'm already a big fan of Marc Heu's pastries, so I had to grab some of my favorites. The Kouign Amann was perfectly crisp, buttery, and caramelized as always. I also picked up the Croissant Donut featuring this month's flavor--a pistachio cream filling topped with orange cream which was absolutely delicious. I also tried their new limited-time Croissant Ice Cream Cornet, a soft serve ice cream served inside one of their buttery croissants. Unfortunately, it wasn't a hit. This week's soft serve flavor was croissant and the combination of textures and fat left a thick, heavy aftertaste that wasn't quite for me. That said, I'd definitely give it another try when they rotate to a different soft serve flavor. All in all, Marc Heu continues to be one of my favorite spots for unique, upscale pastries.
