If you are looking for coffee and a pastry this is a great little place to go. Plenty of parking as it's in a strip mall. They have both outside and indoor seating. The staff is friendly and didn't try to rush me. Which was nice for my first time there. They have a great assortment of pastries, baked goods, and sweet treats. Finally! A blueberry muffin that's actually filled with blueberries. It's a very tender muffin with juicy blueberries in every single bite, capped with a crunchy top that's not too sweet. I also got a bag of pecan shortbread cookies. They are the perfectly sandy texture, punctuated with bits of pecans and a contrasting caramelized sugar crunch on the edges. Stopped by here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Cute little patisserie in a strip mall. There was a line to get pastries and coffee. They have a few tables where you can sit and enjoy your breakfast. You ordered at the counter and then pay. They give you the pastry right away and you wait for your caffeinated drink. Ordered a chocolate croissant and double expresso. The croissant was a little dry and overdone. It could have also used more of the chocolate filling. Overall it was an ok chocolate croissant. I would have like more chocolate and not overly crispy and flakey as it was. The expresso was good. Made fresh. No complaints on that. Won't be rushing here anytime soon. read more

I stopped here for some birthday treats earlier this year in May. I was looking through a few Yelp reviews and the passion fruit tart caught my eye. Couldn't pass up on the tiramisu either. Not pictured was a couple of danish pastries. The passion fruit tart was excellent. Not too sweet and very refreshing on a hot summer day. The tiramisu was good as well, but wasn't my favorite I've ever had. If you like chocolate, this will definitely give you your fix - thick layer on top. The danish pastries were a bit dry, but I will say they were flaky. I noticed a loaf of focaccia bread that looked amazing. I will be back to try that! Service was very friendly and when I told her it was my fist time, she welcomed me and explained any item on their menu. Okay I have to say that they get a 5/5 for preordered decorated cookies and a 2/5 for the scone I grabbed. The cookies were excellent - they were able to decorate 30 cookies for a baby shower on short notice so I'm bumping my review to a 4 mostly based on that. Staff were super helpful both on the phone, via email and in person. The scone I got was supposed to be raspberry white chocolate and I honestly think it was just a plain scone with questionable blue specs? I took a few bites and threw it away. Honestly gross. I can't believe it took me so long to try this stellar bakery. I went at 8:00am on Friday, and was happy to see a full case of goodness. By 8:30am the lines started and did not stop. I worked there for a bit, fast and no password for wifi. There are a good amount of tables but get there early! I got: chocolate criossant, cherry danish, chocolate scone, and challah. Wow wow wow. When I visited, I could tell that they are not operating under normal circumstances as there are no tables to sit inside. As we are in a pandemic still, I certainly appreciated the focus on safety. I arrived around 11:30 so the bakery items were a little sparse as it was nearing the end of their day. I ordered a vanilla latte and some caramel macarons. Quite honestly, a perfect 11:30 nosh. The latte was amazing! So creamy and smooth. The perfect balance. They even had a bit of latte art on it as well. The latte might have been the best vanilla latte. The macaron was so delicious! Unfortunately I don't share the same sentiments as others. I only rate on food but I honestly would rate less if I rated on service. The staff was rude to me and I went to ask for a topper on my half full regular coffee and they charged me which I don't even get charged at Starbucks for a topper. But my blueberry scone had no flavor and was hard and the quiche might have been undercooked but tasted overly spinachy and no bacon which it was supposed to have. Cute little bakery! I came on a Saturday morning around 8:20am for the beignets but found so much more! Since it was just a bit after opening, the bakery wasn't too busy. Two people were in line ahead of me but service is quick. Staff is really nice and will correct you if you can't pronounce the French words. In addition to the beignets, I picked out a chocolate croissant, cinnamon roll, and kouign amann. Out of everything, I would have to say the cinnamon rolls were the highlight of the bunch. We chose a three tiered cake 6" buttermilk+chocolate cake layers with vanilla mousse, strawberry 10" buttermilk cake with vanilla mousse, strawberry conserve and fresh strawberries. 12" chocolate cake with chocolate mousse. We stopped here for breakfast before going ice skating in Edina. The location is a bit out of the cities and located in a shopping center. Not much seating inside but there wasn't too much of a crowd at 1030 AM on a Sunday. I purchased the brown butter brioche, kouign amann, beignets(a weekend only pastry), and cherry almond scone. The best pastry of the bunch was surely the kouign amann. Buttery flaky and light this was perfectly done. I just wished they had more options with fillings. Unfortunately the other items didn't quite live up to my expectations. The brown butter brioche tasted nice but was not the light texture that I expected. Similarly the beignet was very heavy and I admit that this also could be due to the fact that I didn't come earlier when they were fresh. Both of these items could've used like 10 seconds in a microwave. Finally the cherry almond scone had a nice almond cherry taste but was a bit too closed textured for my liking. All that being said the prices were very reasonable and staff seemed to be working hard. Would I drive out of my way to come here? Probably not. But if you're in the neighborhood running errands and are craving pastries this place is worth checking out. read more

This is a COVID-19 review update: I'm really happy Patisserie Margo is able to make and is continuing to sell the baked items they're known and loved for. The store is on reduced hours and is allowing two groups in at a time for social distancing. The staff wore masks and gloves. The french bread, fresh donuts, and beignets are as good as always, at the same price, and the same availability. Try the beignets (ben-yays!); they're just soft pillows of delight! Currently, the dining area indoors is closed. The picnic table outside is still available, and it's in direct sunlight. The day I went was sunny, so while customers wore masks in the store, once back to their car and away from others, I saw many people, myself included, take off their mask and take a bite of their goodies while enjoying the beautiful weather. read more

First time at this location but will not be my last as I was very impressed by the flavors and presentation of the treats that I decided on. The staff was very friendly when I walked in and asked me if I had any questions. I was for sure going to get the succès as I love almond buttercream but after telling me about the chocolate dome and it has mousse and a caramel center I had to have both! I can not tell you which one I enjoyed more as they are both completely different. The succès was more of a light dessert and not to overpoweringly sweet as the chocolate dome was more of a rich/heavier dessert that would be more of a sharing item or would be great with a coffee to balance out the richness. Patisserie Margo is an absolutely adorable bakery and cafe. The environment is simple and comfortable. The menu features soup and sandwiches but the true highlights are the pastries. They have one of my favorite bran muffins! It is sweet, textured, moist and has the perfect amount of raisins. They also have flaky buttery croissants, a variety of scones and muffins other seasonal bakery treats. While the dining in experience is pleasant, I think Patisserie Margo really excels in their cakes. This has been my go-to bakery for all cakes-birthdays, baby showers, you name it. The picture attached to this review is a cake they made for a baby shower I recently hosted. They can work with very specific direction or you can give them a color scheme. Either way, the finished product is a beautifully decorated and incredibly delicious cake. You can, of course, customize any of the flavors, colors, etc. I can't recommend their cakes enough. I have long been a customer of Margo and was sad when I saw them closing the old place (for I feared that another great and unique spot wasn't able to compete). Luckily, they were opening a much bigger spot with MUCH EASIER PARKING. What hasn't changed are the melt in your mouth French pastries from Croissants to Éclairs to White Chocolate Scones (I know, not French, but still really good) and crusty French Bread. I've changed my usual routes to and from Southdale so as to have an excuse to stop in. Prices are still really good and now that they've got some seating, you can sit and linger with a pastry and coffee or even stop in for lunch - there's a different soup every day.
