Always a great experience at Rhody Hen. We usually go to the Pawtucket location because parking at this one is pretty abysmal, but even though we had to park down the street, we were seated right away. As always, the steak tips were incredible - melt in your mouth delicious (I always get them medium rare). The Benedict was perfectly done, and I love the home fries too. I do think the Pawtucket location gets the food out a little faster, but it wasn't a big deal and definitely doesn't affect my rating. The one thing however that i wish they did was focus a bit more on their coffee creations. You can get caramel added in your iced coffee but not chocolate syrup... interesting to say the least. read more

A cute diner type of place for a delicious casual breakfast. I got the whole wheat pancakes and they were delicious w the maple butter. It's extra for real syrup but the fake stuff does fine. Busy on a Sunday morning though! Would've been 25 minutes but we sat at the counter and had no wait. Parking is limited but people DIY-ed spots. Brunch at Rhody Hen EP Walked in on a busy weekend morning and the place was packed. Always a good sign! Luckily, we only waited about 15 minutes before being seated. We were placed at a small two-top in the middle of the dining room. The seats? Not great--pretty uncomfortable. Also, it was freezing in there. Like, goosebumps-through-your-sweater cold. Bring a jacket. Service was friendly--our server was a polite young guy who took good care of us. The vibe inside, though, was kind of underwhelming. Very plain decor. No artwork, no cozy touches, just... walls. Food-wise, it was a mixed bag. My wife ordered the Jose Ranchero Carne Asada, and that was hands-down the winner. Perfectly seasoned, super tender steak, eggs done just right, and the black beans? So good. She was all smiles. I got the Crabcake Benedict. It was... fine. Nothing bad, just not memorable. The crab cakes were a little bland and the home fries were meh--dry and underwhelming. Overall: Good service, one great dish, and a few misses. Not sure we'd rush back, but we might give it another shot--definitely ordering what my wife had next time. read more

This was my first spot visiting Rhode Island and I can confidently say this place is the BEST spot for breakfast! I am not a huge fan of traditional breakfast items so this place really interested me with their creative menu items that ranges from a sweet to savory. I got the huevos ranchos with carne asada and this a great meal. The carne asada is so delicious to dip into the runny egg and wrap in the warm tortilla. The tiramisu french toast is amazing! So flavorful and definitely a great way to sweeten up your morning. Our server is so so nice. She provided great service and she was very friendly. We sat outside so it was very calm and relaxing. They get super busy since they are popular so the inside is very busy. They don't take reservations either so get there before everyone else does! Arrived at 8:40am. We sat at the counter as the only other seating available was a table in the middle of the room across from the entry door (35° outside). Oh BTW, there was no heat in the dining room and everyone had their coats on while eating, including us. Not sure if this was due to a faulty heating system, or that they just were saving $ on heat. Ordered the Roasted Veggie Omelette, Garden Chick Sandwich and coffee. Both dishes came out in a short time and were both delicious, but the hash browns were undercooked, a bit oily and didn't have seasoning on them. Coffee was hot and strong enough. Service was prompt. This is my first time at the EP Rhody Hen Cafe. I've been to the Pawtucket restaurant a few times in the past. Both restaurants are very busy. I had a difficult time finding a parking spot. Inside was out dated and was fresh. I sat at the bar and had two eggs over easy, home fries and toast. The eggs were not very good looking but they were unbroken. So, I was in Rhode Island visiting my pal and his wife and they brought me to their favorite brunch spot. I have to say I completely enjoy my meal. I got a short stack of pancakes which were perfectly cooked and delicious, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese which were perfectly slamming and toast. I also ordered a hot chocolate that was hitting! The service was excellent, on point. Very nice people. The restaurant itself is a nice place. High ceilings, spacious. Not too noisy or crowded at all. Great spot to grab some grub. Dropped in for a quick breakfast this Holy Saturday. We like to do a Rhode island food trip every now and then since we're from the biggest little state in the union . We now live in Plymouth MA. Anyway. We dropped by for the first time to this little gem and loved it . The place is clean , the service is excellent and the counter and kitchen are on point. You can sit a tables too but I always get a sense for a place by the bar or counter. They passed the test with flying colors. I had a bacon egg and cheese on English and the wife had a grilled muffin with coffee. Like I said... quick and easy breakfast. It was made to order and delicious. I'm going back. Next time it's a full on breakfast. What I saw going to other customers looked like something I could have gotten into if I had the time. So in conclusion, if you get a chance check this place out. Came here with friends on a late sunday morning, was able to get seated quickly. The restaurant was pretty warm inside, but it was slightly cooler than outside, so we stayed inside. A few of our orders were out of stock but we weren't told until we were actively trying to order. This caused us to have to look over the whole menu again to pick something new. My go-to breakfast spot now. I've been to the Pawtucket location and now this one and both were delicious. I ordered the Habanero Benedict and it may have been one of the best breakfast items I have ever had. It was a bacon infused waffle topped with fried chicken, poached egg, hollandaise sauce, and a sweet habanero sauce that had just enough of a kick. The service was friendly, quick, and attentive. Both locations are small yet cozy. Limited parking and there might be a 10-15 minute wait but it moves along quickly. I had been a regular (ish) at the other Rhody Hen Cafe location in Pawtucket for a while and then was thrilled when their new East Providence location opened as it's much more convenient for me! Same great food, more space, more parking (there's more in the back but even without it it's still a better parking situation than the Pawtucket location). Some of my favorites are the Habanero Benny and the Huevos Rancheros with Carne Asada but I also tend to try a lot of the specials. There's usually an appealing eggs benny option worth trying--most recently I tried the crab cakes benedict and another time really loved the chicken cordon bleu version! This is easily one of my favorite brunches in the state and I find myself constantly returning. Don't sleep on this one. read more

Glad I went to the one in Pawtucket first because if I had visited this one first I would have never gone to Pawtucket. What a difference. The floor was absolutely disgusting. I stuck to it from the front door to the bathroom-oh God-the bathroom. YUCK. Not sure whats going on here but it was gross. My summer veggie omelet was so odd-all the veggies were in the plate with a puffy egg on top-not an omelet at all. Honestly the best brunch I've had in 5+ years. Solid menu. Great ingredients and preparation. This is elevated diner food - not too greasy but also not too boujee. We had a breakfast appetizer of small quesadillas that looked like tacos. I had the Chile skillet and my husband had the steak omelette. He said the coffee was great (he's terribly fussy about coffee) and I had fresh squeezed orange juice. Service was good. Prices were fair.
