Read a bit about Francesca's in a magazine. Didn't realize we'd been there once before until we arrived. Food was good. I had corned beef hash and eggs. Very nice. I was a regular for Huevos Rancheros up until about the end of May, 2026. This dish is all about the ranchero sauce however the new chef has replaced sauce with chopped tomatoes and onions. Their Carne Asada was so delicious!!! Juicy, not tough. Seasoned perfectly! The home made tortillas, sides, salad and grilled jalapeño was a perfect accompaniment to the meal. They also have fresh made mango juice was again so fresh tasting! I was so full. Even after I put the leftovers in the to go box, I kept my fork so I could eat a little more while waiting for my check. Staff was so friendly and patient as I looked over the menu too. Everything came out delicious and they give a generous portion too. Service: The staff was so nice here! Always giving great recommendations and super pleasant. What a gem! Visiting PVD for college tours and in the mood for brunch. After stopping at two other recommended spots and being told it would be an hour wait we decided to head back to the hotel. I've been to Francesca's a few times for breakfast and continue to return. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Lisboa omelet, which includes broccoli, swiss cheese, and chorizo with a side of home fries and your choice of toast. (I chose the Portuguese bolo). The omelet was filling, the homefries well seasoned, and the bolo was buttered and good to eat. I also had a side of apple juice which came in a cute mason jar glass, adding a nice touch to the restaurant's aesthetic. The service can be slow when busy, but the food makes up for the wait. Opened the Yelp app. and went to my collections and found Breakfast and chose Francesca's. I usually add to a collection from word of mouth from friends, family and colleges. We were welcomed in when we opened the door and said we could sit anywhere we would like even at the bar which l thought was awesome. The super friendly young lady came over and asked what we wanted to drink and gave us the menus and the special's menu also. The waitress came back after a couple minutes and took our order. My friend ordered the Mexican steak dish (Quetzalteco), and I ordered a Bloody Mary and Huevos Rancheros. I asked my friend how his meal was, and he was very happy and loved everything. I took a sip of my bloody Mary, and something was off with it, but I had an ice-cold cup of water too, so I wasn't to worry and was very excited to eat my meal. I must say the meal was awesome! The eggs were cooked perfectly, the potatoes were hot and silky. The refried beans were also good, and the fresh hot tortillas made the dish all come together. We were never rushed at any point since my friend, and I had a lot of catching up to do. The bill finally came from the awesome waitress and was told not to rush at all. That's when this younger gentleman approached us, and I had a funny feeling that I knew who he was since before I left to come here for breakfast, I read some 1-star yelp reviews about this place that I thought it was just some rude people leaving garbage reviews That the owner (Edgar) of the restaurant responded too. Edgar comes up to us at the bar and greets us and asks how everything was and we were very pleased to tell him that everything was great! Before I even went to ask him about the bloody Mary, he asked me, why I didn't drink the bloody Mary which I then explained to him about this other place that I go to all the time, and it just wasn't the same here. The owner (Edgar) right away took it off the bill and wanted to understand and learn more about how I tasted his and compared too the other place I go to all the Time (Julian's in Providence). He stood there and just listened to me explain things and I was just amazed at how the person (Edgar) was taking the feedback and really caring about the customers experience and how the drink was made with the ingredients. In the end a great experience at Francesca's and can't wait to come back! To the staff and Edgar, if you keep on doing what you are doing you will be here forever. Love the food and Atmosphere! On a Saturday morning, around 10:30am the place was not packed although there were customers there. Yes, I would absolutely drive an hour again to try more items off of their menu. Although we went for breakfast, it turned into brunch once we noticed the Quesa-Birria and it was absolutely amazing !! All I can say is please do yourself a favor and try it if you are in the area or if you are up for a little road trip. You really have to try this... seriously just go. I had a perfect dinner there this evening. It's a foodies dream, everything was so fresh, made in house, and the attention to detail was obvious. Tacos dorados... solid five stars. Crunchy, seasoned well, authentic flavors, I could eat that every day. What really blew me away was the little touches, the cotija cheese and crema really make it sing. I had the carne asada for an entree, it was perfect. Great cook on the skirt steak, tender, flavorful, seasoned well, and juicy. Again, the details make the dish, tortillas were made to order,and the charred jalapeño was so epic. Service was friendly and attentive, owners were charming and hospitable. Drinks were excellent, espresso martini even had the three coffee beans. Ambiance is great, simple, clean, well lit, and tidy. My boyfriend and I felt like going out for breakfast this past Sunday. We picked our spot and headed over, passing Francesca's along the way... We both noted to each other "oh yeah, we still haven't tried that place yet." and decided to turn around and head back to give it a go! We're thrilled we did. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, the décor was pleasant, and everything seemed exceptionally clean!! (Even the ketchup and syrup bottles on our table were wiped down and didn't have a single sticky spot - you don't see that very often at a breakfast spot on the weekend - and we happily took notice of it) We were seated immediately and greeted with friendly service. We decided to go with the Chilaquiles Verdes (since Mexican breakfast is what made us want to go there!) and an item on their Specials menu - Lemon Ricotta pancakes with fried apples. I did ask for home fries instead of the beans that came with the Chilaquiles and they were happy to accommodate that substitution. DELICIOUS!!! Everything was delicious. Additionally, the presentation of the food was lovely as well. Once we left, I immediately had to post in the local East Providence group raving about Francesca's and encouraging others to go as well - and being a big Yelper, of course I had to throw them some stars on here as well! Definitely give them a try at one of their two locations (the other is in Pawtucket, but we haven't been to that one). We look forward to going back!! Final note...the ONLY "complaint" we have is that they aren't open for dinner. We often find ourselves wanting dinner-out occasionally during the week and this would be a great option for us, but they close at 3pm. Looks like we'll just have to make time on a weekend, soon, to check out more of their Mexican fare for a yummy lunch date. :-) read more
