I've been visiting El Mariachi for the last 7 years in Encino for lunch and dinner on a few different occasions. Their enchiladas are really good and my usual go to with the complimentary bean dip chips and salsa. As far as drinks are concerned you can't go wrong with a mango margarita blended that they serve you in a big glass you get a lot for the cost. The staff is always friendly and attentive and I've never had a bad experience out of 7 years to be 100% honest. Im confused on how they don't have more positive reviews I guess people these days complain over anything oh well. I have been a consistent customer at your restaurant for some time now. After finally finding a place in my community that I genuinely enjoy, I began coming in regularly, often dining alone at least once a week. Up until today, the service has always been welcoming and consistent, which is why this experience stood out so strongly. When I arrived today, the atmosphere was noticeably different. There appeared to be a game or event, and the restaurant was filled. However, I observed that multiple white patrons were being attended to while I remained unacknowledged. After waiting for some time, I eventually seated myself and still did not receive service. What was most troubling was the clear difference in how others were being treated compared to my experience. It felt as though I was being overlooked entirely, despite being a regular customer. I ultimately had to stop a staff member to even be acknowledged, and at that point I asked if only white customers were being served. This experience left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. As someone who has supported your business consistently, it is disheartening to feel that my presence was not valued in the same way as others in the restaurant. I hope this message encourages reflection and ensures that all customers are treated with the same level of respect and attention moving forward. At this point, I am reconsidering returning, which is unfortunate given how much I previously enjoyed your establishment. We ordered a chicken quesadilla to share with rice & beans ~ it was a decent size and very good. There were a lot of people there but our server managed to get us our food quickly. I remember coming here years ago and I thought it was a lot smaller than what it is now. This place is huge! It seemed like they have live events in the back and that totally explains why this place is always packed with cars in the front. When you arrive, there is only valet parking and I believe it was around $5 (please don't quote me on that). As you arrive, the hostess greets you at the frontt and sits you at a table or booth to the right. However, you can see a huge banquet room or something straight ahead with a stage for live acts. The place is dope because it has a bar area and tv's to catch the games and it's pretty live in there! The place is clean and fun and the vibe will have you turn up! There's a mariachi band that walks around and plays music at the tables, while enjoying your food. (staying on brand with the name of the restaurant). I went with the Camarones Al Mojo De Ajo which is Shrimp cooked on homemade veggies garlic butter sauce. Served with rice, beans, pico de gallo and tortillas. The wifee wanted to try this place out, so we decided to visit for dinner. As we pulled in, the first thing I noticed was the Valet parking for $10, I asked if I could self park, they said it was fine, however still charged me $10, there was only a couple cars when we arrived. Entered the restaurant, besides my wife and I there were two other families dining. Were sat right away, the server came by shortly after being seated, he was accommodating , brought a small sample of their sauce used for their molcajete ( spiciness level) , brought warm tortilla chips and refried beans (yum), food had good flavor, piping hot and drinks kept topped off. All in food (one ice tea and one water) tip and valet, south of $100, while I understand, everything has gotten more expensive, $100 for two w/out liquor, seems expensive to me. Came here for a birthday on a Friday night and was really impressed. The place was packed and had a full mariachi performance, which made the night super fun. The vibe is great, half restaurant, half live venue, though it does get loud as expected. Service was a solid 10/10, and everyone was really friendly. The servers and performers made the night so much fun. The drinks were amazing too. I had the spicy chipotle burrito, definitely wasn't spicy but so flavorful and reasonably priced. I was very disappointed when I ordered the combo plate of an enchilada and hard shell taco. Normally mexican restaurants fry their taco shells but what I got was a taco bell taco shell. Normally when we go to Mariachi Grill it is packed with people but it was pretty empty this time. I noticed there were no chips and salsa on the table either. We always enjoyed our visits to the restaurant but it just isn't the same. We're looking for a new place to enjoy great mexican food. read more

Coordinating the private event with this venue was a breeze - almost too easy, LOL. All went well, though, and we would absolutely host another event here again. When I came for dinner, I had a shrimp dish with chips/salsa and rice. The food was well-portioned. Prices aren't too out of the norm. Great option for groups or dates. I've also ordered for takeout. All was packaged well and tasted great by the time I received it. On the weekend, they offer brunch options. I haven't been here on a weekend, but it's on my list. I showed up today at 330 pm and was only attended to one time when I ordered my food and drinks. I was completely ignored the whole time I was there. Even had to get my own cutlery from the table next to mine. My waiter never came back to my table. The whole staff was too preoccupied for people coming to watch the game in 2 hours than the people that are currently in your restaurant. I came with the intent to order more but with such poor service I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. you should take care of the people already here first rather than prepare for whose not even in in your parking lot yet. We decided to give this spot a try for a dodger championship game we got there early to ensure we got good seats in front of their big screen TVs and sadly the TVs were out of service when we got there the staff was so focused on fixing the issue that we were ignored for about an hour . Seems like there was no staff yet to attend costumers in a timely manner. We were about to leave and go to our usual bar . Finally we got some service . We were very disappointed with the service and the drinks . Everything just seemed so off with the staff . We will not be going back . Lastly the food was not good the rice was old and stale . This used to be one of my favorite restaurants and I will not be going back. Since the post covid renovations things have gone down hill but tonight was the worst. I ordered the Enchiladas suizas which the menu describes as a sauce made with cream. I also ordered a side of sour cream when I placed the order. What I received were enchiladas in a tomatillo sauce and no side of sour cream which they promised to bring when I asked again but did not. I showed the waiter the enchiladas and explained I was anticipating a sauce with cream which my husband (who is from Mexico) confirmed Is what to expect with suizas. Our waiter then proceeded to try and gas light us- telling us that "their" suizas are not made with cream. (Undermined by another member of staff who confirmed their suizas are made with cream). It was a very busy night, and I was a server for many years so I know mistakes happen and am very understanding. What should have happened is the waiter should have offered to bring the correct dish if I was willing to wait for it knowing it wouldn't likely be fast or comp the wrong dish if I just wanted to eat it. In the end he doubled down on his gas lighting and I was charged $2.50 for a side of sour cream I never received. To top it all off, when we left at half time, the valet tried to tell my husband his car was parked so deep in that he should wait until the match was over! I've been coming here with my family for years and usually love the food and service, but my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. Our server, Amalia, took over 15 minutes to even approach our table, despite another staff member letting her know we were waiting. By the time she came, we already knew our order. The steak we received was very poor quality -- rubbery, tough, and way too fatty. We also ordered a side of shrimp, which tasted fine, but even something as simple as getting a water refill took far too long. Towards the end of our dinner, our server didn't return to check on us until it was time to bring the check, so I had to ask a busser and even the bartender just to get my daughter's refill. When the check came, I noticed the shrimp was entered incorrectly as "MEAT" and was charged at $11 instead of the $6 we've been charged in the past. When I asked the server about it, she was defensive and rude. I then spoke with the manager, but instead of checking the actual menu price, he went back to ask the server and told me they just "enter items however is easiest" when it's busy. He didn't provide any proof of the price or resolve the issue. This isn't about the extra $5 -- it's about professionalism, accuracy, and respect for customers. The lack of care from both the server and the manager was very disappointing. For a place my family has supported for years, this visit made us feel undervalued and unimportant. I really hope management takes this feedback seriously, because the service and food quality on this visit were far below what we've always experienced here. read more

There service is really slow even to seat you because they seat 2 people in big booth. When it should be for party's of 4 or more at least. Now my family of 4 have to wait almost 30 minutes to get a booth. Then they don't work as an ever at this restaurant you have to wait on your waitress to help you for whatever you need. Also only valet parking even if your disabled don't matter still must pay. So best bet is parking on the street. Food menu is basic nothing special so I would recommend coming on Mondays when it is half off your entire bill. Any other day not worth coming. read more
