Came here to play trivia on the back patio and had a nice time. We were just a little peckish, so we shared a quesadilla, priced at $15.95 and added beef for $4 more. Inflation, I know, but a $20 quesadilla, w/maaaaybe 2-3oz of ground beef seemed a bit steep. We thought it might be an extra large tortilla, but no, standard size appetizer quesadilla. It was good. The melted pepper jack w/diced Ortega chilies gave it a bit of a kick. I also tried one of their "chalk board cocktails", the Tequila Colada($15). I enjoy tequila, but I think I prefer this mixture of colada with traditional rum. This drink was also served shaken, over a lot of ice. I think of a colada as the being the thick, creamy, blended version I enjoy. Shaken is fine, but I should've asked. Large parking lot with plenty of free parking. Service was hopping and efficient. I have been frequenting this establishment for a few years now and it is a bar where I feel comfortable and make fun memories. The staff has always been professional and friendly. The bar and seating areas are well maintained and cozy. I have not enjoyed the food but from the amount of orders I've seen in front of other patrons it seems that they are popular. The surrounding area is a quite suburban neighborhood...... and any place I can walk to in n out is always a solid choice too. read more

I used to come to the Pinapple years ago, before I moved out of the area. I moved back recently, and decided to have my birthday get together here. I am so glad I did! Tony was our server/bartender, and he was amazing! He made sure we always had our drinks, recommended some great food for us to try, was extremely attentive and made my birthday something to remember! There is a very "Cheers" vibe here, as well. We came here for NYE, and at the beginning, we were having a good time. Once the DJ started, though, the place got louder and louder and louder. It seemed like every 20 minutes, the volume increased 20%, until the point that we actually had to complain to our server, who offered us some earplugs. He told me that he has to wear them to work nearly every night that the DJ's playing, which took me back a bit. If nobody can hear themselves talking, and everyone has to wear earplugs and scream to be heard...I just think that might have to be adjusted a bit. I work in music/audio, and I felt like, without earplugs, I was going to start to experience hearing loss in there. One night out's not worth your hearing. We had to leave before midnight, earplugs or no. That said, I actually really enjoyed the aesthetic of the place. The parking is plentiful, the vibe feels like your favorite "hole in the wall" spot, and it's got that classic tavern kind of feel. The food was decent (I had the 1/3 lb burger and fries). For the price, I felt like the burger was a little on the small side, but the flavor was good, and the fries were plentiful and were traditional steak fries-style, which were also pretty good. It didn't knock my socks off, but I could see myself coming again on a night where the sound was a bit easier to deal with. read more

This place is located in a strip mall with large free parking lot behind it that you can enter from Milbank St. You'll see there outdoor patio even before you turn into the lot. Google Maps gives you the wrong location - it shows it's next to In-N-Out but it's on the corner of Milbank St & Sylmar Ave. It's a bit dark inside with lots of small tv's all over their walls. For some reason, they had on a Dodgers game that was played during the day (it was 10pm) and some other random sports on. I don't know what it is with these dive bars but they had X'mas decorations on the mantel of their non-working fireplace in the middle of July. I did appreciate they didn't have the music cranked, I could actually have a conversation without having to yell over the music or crowd. Drinks were okay. Generous amount since their glasses are big - I ordered a Cosmo & it wasn't in one of those small martini glasses, more like a margarita glass. There were 2 bartenders, sometimes 3 but the wait to be served could have been better. They did have a good food menu. I didn't order anything but everything they brought out smelled REALLY good! Their outdoor patio is quite large, they had put up dividers so one side had a birthday party, the other side another party. This is a good place to have a get-together with a large groups of friends in the outdoor patio. It's convenient & affordable. One thing that did bother me, 2 young girls under the age of 10 came in to sell chocolate(?) for their fundraiser. This was 11pm and how they got in to go tabel to table without security guard stepping in?! I had to flag security to take girls out! Where are their parents?! On nights where there are birthday parties/events, I think they did 2 security guards, 1 in the back & 1 in the front. read more

First visit (takeout) Outlaw burger was decent, about a 7 out of 10 & I liked that they use grass-fed beef, so I came back with friends when Kate was working, she was great. Tried the wings: BBQ were not good, but the Old Bay wings were really solid. Came back again yesterday and the burger was inedible. Burnt, chewy, with crispy burnt bits, and the bun wasn't toasted (might've even been cold). The onions were the worst part, it was the piece most people throw away. I really wanted to like this place because it's close and has great hours, but this was a letdown. read more

Yikes! Another floundering place that should've been closed years ago operating a ghost kitchen in the back. Food is bland and incredibly overpriced.
