El Mariachi is one of those little restaurants tucked away in the corner that shouldn't be overlooked. A nice little hidden gem to discover. Being a transplant from Los Angeles, I've missed street tacos. My experience has been hot and miss finding good tacos in the area. I'm glad to have stumbled upon this place. First of all let me say it was the first time I have been here!! This place is small but nice!! Service here was OK for a small little taco shop. We've lived in this location for a while, and have come here twice. My boyfriend gets the burrito (not pictured) but says it's very yummy, as well as their carnitas. I get the tamale plate. Not a lot of places have tamales but these are so yummy - I got the chicken and pork! The service is prompt and we rarely wait long for our food. It is a nice quiet area when it isn't busy. This is our favorite Mexican restaurant, and we have been coming here for several years. I always get the 2 crispy chicken tacos with rice and beans. I have lived in the area for about ten years and tried every Mexican restaurant around, and El Mariachi is hands down the best! The family that owns the restaurant treats everyone like family. My friend was right, this place has great food! During a recent conversation, my Mexican friend told me about this place. She told me how authentic the dishes are here and that they sell the best crispy tacos. I believer her, she's very particular about Mexican dishes and she can be very critical. So if she's giving this place a "thumbs up," I believe her! We were greeted upon entering, you order at the counter, and wait. They brought out some chips and salsa. The salsa had a kick to it, but was tasty. The crispy tacos came along with my chicken enchilada combo. It was both fantastic. The chicken enchilada was one of the best I've had in this area! Came here on a fluke, we were going to go to Sizzle Mongolian but they weren't open yet it was 11 and they don't open until 11:30. So I looked to my left and here was this Taqueria! We opened the door and At this early time there was only one patron in the restaurant. We looked at the menu board and ordered our meal. We were served chips and hot & mild salsas, they were extremely tasty! My fiance ordered the Wet Mega Burrito and I got the Taquitos and Tostada. Both meals were excellent! Been wanting to try here since we moved up 4 years ago- and wish I hadn't waited!! We had delicious, authentic Mexican food! My hubby had chili verde which was excellent- fresh, just acidic enough, tasty! I had two soft corn tacos with lengua (which I adore and is often hard to find) and adobado! The tacos were perfect- simple just how they should be- grilled meat, onion, cilantro, radish.. Their salsa is excellent- just enough spice and taste and not too thick! Way overpriced i couldn't believe it $5 for one beer $5 for one taco but i ordered 4 without knowing and almost $5 for a small aqua fresca so 4 tacos and 2 drinks was $40! No wonder the place was empty it wasn't like the tacos were loaded with meat either just overall very disappointing. read more

Can't get any more authentic than this! First off, family-oriented and genuine customer service is what you'll receive here. My in-laws have been coming here for their weekly Friday date night, and it's so cute how the workers know them and know what they're going to order. The workers here, work super diligently and get food out in a quick amount of time, and they are always smiling! Love it! I was basic and order two of the house tacos, one chicken and the other carne asada. The meat is seasoned well, and you'll find some small pieces of fat. Am I the only person that loves that about carne asada?! Lol, I swear that's where the flavor lives it makes me so happy to find those when I eat carne asada! The combo plates are built very generously where you get a scoop of rice and beans. It's a filling dish that I think can be shared between two people. They also provide complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is bomb which had a surprising but welcome heat kick with each bite. This place is different in the fact that they don't just have a "help yourself" salsa bar, so fair warning. Everything we've tried here has been outstanding. Chips are fresh, mild or hot salsa is great, chili relleno, burrito and hamburgers are all excellent. The burger is a double patty, and if you can eat all of it, you will not be hungry for many hours. The lady behind the counter may be the owner, and is always friendly. We have made this our go to spot for Mexican food. And the outdoor seating when the weather is right just adds to a great dining experience. read more

We just moved to the area and this place is pretty close to us. Checked it out for the first time this week. I guess there are two doors so when I went into one door, I was a little disoriented. Found the front counter and realized there was another door, so you don't have to walk through the eating area. First thing we noticed is that their prices seemed a little higher than other Mexican restaurants we have been to in the area. $10.99 for a shrimp burrito and around $9 for a super burrito. It was interesting that they had a double cheeseburger on their menu too. The cashier was friendly and helpful. I placed my order and then sat down to wait for the food to be prepared. While waiting, I checked out some of the Yelp reviews. I got a little worried when I read that food takes 45 minutes to receive. Fortunately, that wasn't the case for us. We got everything in less than 15 minutes. The super burrito seemed to have a lot of sour cream; it wasn't too bad. My husband thought the shrimp burrito was ok, but when I took a bite, it wasn't my cup of tea. Our street tacos were disappointing. It didn't give us the "WOW" that we had when we tried Rudy's street tacos or the Three Hermanos food truck tacos. The carne asada was very tough as well. There's a sign on the register that says "Free chips and salsa to customers who dine in." When I looked around, I noticed there wasn't a salsa bar like you usually find in a Mexican restaurant. And according to some Yelp reviews, they weren't given chips for to-go orders. However, when the cashier/server brought me the order, he said, "Everything's in there, including chips and salsa." Maybe their policy has changed, because we were given chips without asking for them. So perhaps they come with all orders nowadays. The burritos, tacos and chips were just ok. Nothing too special. Great customer service and great location but with all the great Mexican restaurants around here, we most likely won't go out of our way to come back to this one. read more

This is our favorite restaurant in town, and I've been there at least 20 times. The chips and outstanding salsa are served promptly to the table, and about the time they are finished is when the food is served to the table. Their mole sauce is the best I've ever had -- flavorful with a nice kick. Both the enchiladas de mole and the plato de mole with tender chicken are excellent. The fajitas sincronidadas are also fantastic, stuffed full of goodness with a flaky tortilla. Mmm. The family that runs the restaurant is friendly, and they always have a smile on their face. A friend suggested we stop in and try the Menudo here on the weekend (it is only served Friday/Saturday/Sunday) and we're so glad we did. First of all, we always love when you get salsa and chips on the table right when you sit and this is definitely one of those places. The chips were thin and crispy and the salsa was seriously delicious and perfectly hot and spicy, we loved it. The menudo came out in a huge bowl that I couldn't finish with a side of tortillas, chopped onions, 3 line wedges and some cilantro. The combination was absolutely tasty.
