What a treat! My…read morefriend and I grabbed an early dinner for the first time at The Pier, it won't be the last time. We started our dinner with a shared plate of fried calamari. The calamari was tender and the coating was crispy. A perfect appetizer. I enjoyed, a delicious meal of Littleneck Clam Linguine, which I've been talking about ever since. My partner dined on the fresh fish of the day and thoroughly enjoyed his meal as well. Everyone we came in contact with, from the gracious woman who seated us to Beth our helpful and friendly server made us feel welcome. Can't wait to return.

Sure I love sushi, but if it tastes fishy, it's bad fish and growing up in Norway on boiled fish and an evil concoction called Lutefisk. I haven't been a big fan of the seafood scene here in the tri-state. This placed changed my mind. The first time here our waitress, Beth made sure we knew what was fresh and popular for the evening. Throw in the fact that the owner Ralph and his mom checked in on us that we were happy with our dinners made this a great over the top local place. Food: For appetizers I had the escargot. It was amazing. Not your standard escargot in a standard scalloped dish with a small dash of garlic and butter, but a bowl consisting of a wonderful broth of escargot, garlic, butter and accompanied with toasted baguette slices. Mains: My wife ordered the "Codfather"consisting of cod, shrimp and scallops. Let's just say I made sure to keep my arms and hands on my side of the table and not attempt to try a sample from her plate with the fear of losing a digit. I ordered the fish and chips. Hey! It's fried, can't go wrong as a non-fish eater going with this route. Nope. Beyond my expectations. My last best fish and chips was at the famous take away at the Borough Market in London. This version? Fresh Cod, well done fries, homemade tartar sauce and coleslaw, just saved me the airfare to the UK. We have all ready been back twice. It is our new fave.

You could tell right away this was more of a local favorite than a touristy spot, which we really appreciated. They service was so attentive and appreciative of the customer experience My husband ordered the chicken piccata and said it was amazing. My son had the chicken Parmesan, and the portions were huge. I ordered a linguini pasta dish that was also delicious. We finished with cheesecake for dessert, and it was incredible. One of the things we loved most was the family-owned feel and seeing so many locals and Italian families dining there -- always a good sign that the food is authentic and well-loved. We honestly almost made a second visit during our trip, but family plans got too hectic. Would definitely come back again. Love finding places like this.

I loved the fried zucchini sticks because they were so lightly battered and delicious. The crab dip was delicious too but the fried bread chips were a bit hard yet okay. The white chocolate bread pudding was warm and delicious. My husband and son had the chicken parm and said it was average, nothing to write home about. My husband ordered the clams casino and they were very tiny. The mozzarella and carrozza was okay. The salad was small but fresh. However, my Italian dressing tasted watered down so I didn't use it.

Big menu even if you have non-seafood eaters. They definitely have the cool factor down pat, and are very welcoming. Beer list was decent, with some good options include from Finback, and also a great looking drink menu (was too early in the day). The food? Just alright. Got a Connecticut lobster roll on the waiter's recommendation. It had plenty of lobster even though it was a small piece of bread (they promise 1/4 lb). They used primarily claw which can be a good thing, although in my case it's not my favorite part; for a lobster roll I love when it's a mix of all of the lobster, with my favorite part being the knuckles. The meat was good quality, however there is very little butter and only some chopped scallions. Read: bland. Plus it came with a small bag of Lay's plain chips. For $30, I expect better than that. My son's fries were alright (also bland), however my wife's half chicken with corn looked great. Would come again however not rushing back. Pretty expensive for something that didn't come close to 'wow'. They seem to have good ingredients, so it's just a matter of elevating them a bit better. More style than substance right now.

Being right by the water definitely sets the tone -- perfect area for a nice dinner with a view. Food-wise: The salmon with sweet potatoes was really good. The steak had flavor, but it was a little rough and chewy. The mashed potatoes on the side were solid. And the cake? No complaints there -- definitely enjoyed that. Overall, I'd give it another try because the atmosphere and waterfront setting make it worth it. Sometimes it's about the full experience.

We ordered two drinks, oysters, a NY strip steak and a filet mignon steak. The drinks were EXCELLENT! I got an Agent 47 mocktail and my husband got a beer on tap. The oysters were also amazing. Pro tip - mix the sauces they provide. This creates a salty sweet combo that mixes SO well with the oysters. I hate to say that their steaks were just OK. The filet mignon was a little raw inside so I had to ask that it be cooked more. Otherwise, the flavor was great. It really didn't need any sauce but next time I think I would try of their sauces. We also ordered the mashed potatoes and the pricing seems expensive for a side but the portion feeds two people! Overall, disappointed with the steaks but everything else was really good. Can't say enough good things about the staff.
