    Strawberry Milkshake

Nostalgic diner The place seemed fun, lots nostalgic pictures and diner booths. Fun place to stop for a burger or breakfast anytime.  Had all kinds of food available. We stopped by for a fun afternoon snack.  Had the chocolate banana malt. Delicious with great chocolate flavor and banana chunks. Tasted like a banana split. Yum Strawberry shake was just as good. Strawberry bits and great flavor.  In true diner fashion - they bring you your shake or malt along with the mixing cup with "more" shake!! Awesome! Rice pudding. Good flavor. Ok Fun place a quick bite in Bronxville

I'm a big fan of diners in the Westchester area, and this one did not disappoint. I drove up and parked across the street at the Bronxville train station, which was a bit annoying since it's paid parking. As soon as you walk into the diner, you're hit with a fun retro vibe. I loved the Tiffany blue walls, and the old-school music playing really set the mood. I stopped in during my lunch break on a Friday, and it wasn't busy at all. We were seated right away, the server was attentive, and the food came out quickly. The food was delicious, and that's not something I can say about most diners. I had the burrito with home fries and was in heaven. I only wish the burrito was a bit thicker. Prices were reasonable, especially considering the area. I still left full and happy, and I'll definitely be coming back again soon!

We were looking at Sarah Lawrence College, and found this place to eat in Bronxville. It was fine. It was a diner, it was diner food, it was reasonably priced. The menu is extensive. That was probably the best thing about this place. My cheeseburger was a burger like many other burgers. I actually wished I had gotten something different. The service was good and prompt. It has 50s diner memorabilia as the decor. All in all a pleasant meal.

Decent food, meh service. The place itself is definitely paying homage to the 1950s diners of the past. They had oldies playing through the speakers (Elvis) which I could hear in the bathroom. It was almost full on a Friday around noon, and it's not a huge place, so you may have to wait for a table when it's busy. The food was ok, nothing to write home about but pretty solid. It came out hot which is always appreciated. The omelette I got came with home fries, disc-style, which were just alright. Some crispy, but most not. Kind of reminded me of scalloped potatoes a couple layers in when they're not crispy. Gluten-free bagel was toasted nicely and buttered, so let them know ahead of time if you don't want butter. Turkey bacon was a bit greasy but good. My fork had old food stuck to it, so I asked for another fork and that one did as well, so not loving that. I think you get a good amount of food for the price, but the food itself was just ok. Kind of lacked flavor. I will say they have an extensive menu with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, as well as gluten-free selections, so a great variety which could be nice if you're going out with a larger and or picky group. Overall not bad but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again.

Stopped her for breakfast while walking around downtown Bronxville and had a good experience! Staff were friendly, food was good. Seating is a bit limited for their volume, but they get people in and out fairly quickly.

Eh, it's a diner. You know what you're getting. Just be aware it's really really busy for brunch, prepare for a wait

Sweet diner in downtown Bronxville. Everything was tasty with generous portions. Only disappointment was that the thanksgiving sandwich had cornbread stuffing rather than standard stuffing which made for a sweeter sandwich. My mistake entirely. Staff was lovely and service was quick!

Solid college town diner with a retro 1950's vibe. It can get busy and the service struggles when it does. The breakfast sandwich was okay - asked for egg over easy and it was over medium. The Greek soup was good but could use some vegetables. Potato skins needed more cheese and less bacon.

Pretty nice and cozy diner in front of Bronxville train station. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and a very laaaarge menu (maybe top large?) The cappuccino was good (non dairy option available) with a dash of cinnamon. I ordered the Mexican Benedict : the chorizo was good spicy, the eggs well poached and the home potatoes tasty. Perfect for a chill brunch in the weekend

If you're walking around Bronxville and need a quick bite to eat (or need a meal before a movie) this diner needs to be on your list! The retro interior is super cute. The menu is very extensive, and their daily specials never disappoint. My dad and I came on a Sunday afternoon and were still in the mood for brunch options so we opted for egg dishes. The kale omelet with sweet potato fries on the side was perfect. Will be back!

The service and food, on the other hand, were quite a mixed bag. We ordered a margherita pizza, pancake tacos, steak and eggs, and French toast with a side of sausage--the pizza, at least, was good. However, the "French toast" was more like an anemic panini press trying to pass as French toast. The steak and eggs comprised of a fairly well-cooked (that is, it was the right temperature) yet underseasoned steak of a relatively dubious cut, underseasoned home fries, and eggs done wrong (sunny side instead of over easy). The lattermost was the start of the problem, as I was willing to give it a shot, but found the texture off-putting. In light of this, I brought the problem to our server Adalia, who brought it to her manager Elvia. Thankfully I had someone else with me to tell me what happened: Elvia came over without addressing me on their error, silently took a look at my plate and instructed Adalia to have the kitchen put the eggs back on the fire. She takes my plate to extract the eggs, and brings them back (unsurprisingly) completely overdone, first in Elvia's hands, then in Adalia's for her to serve; we send for a refire, and they come back correct 7 minutes or so after I've already finished eating. Considering the hassle it took to get them, I couldn't trust it enough to eat, leading them to waste as well. After all was said and done, the GM Amer comes over to see how things were, and was thankfully helpful and understanding of our situation. Here's the rub: I was initially willing to overlook the steak, the home fries, and even the eggs if the error was properly ameliorated. Adalia and Amer both did very well, and I'm grateful for them for that; Elvia, on the other hand, managed to break the chain of competent customer service by directing the server to handle the problem in a way that was set up for failure (if you mess up an egg, it's an immediate refire because of how the egg cooks in the first place -- Amer also arrested to that policy) all without addressing us and taking accountability, due to negligence or whatever else. Not only that, but when sending the incorrect eggs over the second time, she couldn't even bring it to us herself--it would have been easy, seeing as she was the one that originally had them--and left Adalia and her tip to potentially take the fire if the patrons happen to be angry. Mistakes are fine--everyone makes them--but I'd describe this as cowardly more than anything else, and I take issue with that in particular from a leadership standpoint. While Amer graciously extended an invitation for a better experience next time, I can't say I'll be taking him up on the offer when their service and food are this misaligned; unfortunately, a disappointment overall.

I was deciding between the turkey salad and the Chicken Salad Ciabatta from the lunch specials and asked our server how the chicken salad was, She said it was her favorite and that it was a lot of people's go-to, so I decided to order that. Our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the Heritage Nachos, Loaded Tater Tot Skillet, Philly Cheesesteak, and the Chicken Salad Ciabatta. The nachos weren't really for me (I didn't love the type of chips used), but the tots were good and my boyfriend liked his cheesesteak. I absolutely loved the chicken salad sandwich and fries. I get a little fixated on foods I like, so I had honestly been craving that sandwich ever since. 3/14 SECOND VISIT: I decided to come back on March 14 specifically hoping to order the chicken salad sandwich again. It was much busier due to St. Patrick's weekend,I was alone, I was seated in a booth in the back. I was given the dinner menu, so I asked the server about the chicken salad sandwich I had previously ordered. She didn't recognize the sandwich but offered to ask the kitchen after I showed her a photo and the menu from my previous visit. Unfortunately she came back and said they couldn't make it. She suggested a grilled chicken sandwich, but I declined since I'm not really a fan of grilled chicken. I ended up ordering the turkey sandwich and asked for a few modifications (no stuffing or cranberry mayo, just regular mayo on a ciabatta). When the food came out, I immediately knew it wasn't turkey. I waited until the server came back and asked her to confirm what meat was on the sandwich. She initially told me it was turkey. After taking it apart & having a few bites I knew it wasn't turkey. I winded up eating the fries and asking for the bill. I decided to show her the inside of the sandwich again and asked her to double check with the kitchen, she returned and confirmed it was actually ham, even though the ticket showed that she ordered turkey. She did offer to remake the sandwich, but it would have taken another 10-15 minutes and at that point I was already over it. I ended up just paying, and leaving. I completely understand that menus change and servers can't memorize every item. I just wish the sandwich had been confirmed with the kitchen sooner when I questioned it the first time. Overall, my first visit was great, and that chicken salad sandwich was honestly amazing. I just wish the second visit had gone a little smoother.

However, I'm happy to report that I dined here recently and had a better experience. Since the time of my initial review, La Casa remained in my periphery - mainly because my parents periodically visited and it was a frequent stop of one of my friends who lives in Bronxville. That being said, I was curious to check out La Casa again - and that opportunity came when my mother chose here to celebrate Mother's Day. La Casa is located just off the main commercial strips. The interior is pretty spacious with a bar towards the front of the restaurant and the main dining room split in two sections. The decor is somewhat under-toned with a cool color scheme and tasteful decor. This is in contrast with other Mexican restaurants that tend to go overboard with the kistch and warm colors. I will say the seats look a little tired, they could use some re-upholstering - and were a little lower to the ground than I expected. In addition to the indoor space, they have an outdoor section which was done up very nicely. The brunch menu contained a selection of apps, sides, quesadillas, tacos, and sides. We decided to start by splitting a few apps: brisket and al pastor tacos, a quesadilla, street corn, chips and guac, and more guac with tuna. All the apps were tasty - the biggest standouts for me were the quesadilla and the tacos which were all generously filled and had good flavor. For my main, I got the camarones a la diabla which were shrimp in a red pepper sauce placed atop beans and paired with bok choy. The dish was pretty good - the shrimp could have been a bit snappier, but I appreciate that they de-shelled them and the sauce and beans worked well with them. Dare I say the bok choy was the star of the dish? It had just enough flavor and added a needed green. We opted for dessert, and I got the grilled pineapple which was paired with (per the menu) vanilla ice cream or guanabana sorbet. I wasn't asked to choose, and was served the sorbet. I would have liked to have been given the option, but maybe that's all they had - fwiw the sorbet was good. The pineapple was candied and came as a large, thick ring - definitely needed a knife and fork to cut it up (which they provided); this was a good dish in concept but I think it can be executed better. Service was good, everyone was friendly and efficient. In my experience, service tends to be the weakest component of a meal on a holiday, but they did a great job. Overall, I had a good experience at La Casa. Even though it's not in my backyard, I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself.

Some others with me had various sides like regular fries and tater tots, and the same thing was present on them that tends not to be at most places: they were all perfectly salted/seasoned. It might seem immaterial, but it's a very good signal when something that simple--yet often neglected in favor of just using condiments to mask it--is executed well. If you're a burger place with fries that taste great without the need for a sauce or condiment, you're doing something right. The French toast burger was likewise fantastic, combining sweet and savory in a great way. All in all, here's a place that I can't wait to give another visit.
