I was sent a reminder to confirm the reservation 2 days b4 and on the day of, the owner called to let me know there were some streets blocked off due to a Saint pattys parade. My friends and i were able to plan ahead thanks to that call and parked and walked over. My brunch reservation was for 2:15pm. Now once we came in, we were seated fast. One of my friends was about 20 mins late and they didn't give us an issue about it since the rest of us were there. They took our drink order and appetizers. My friend got there after we got our drinks and appetizers and she ordered hers and we all ordered entrees. The waitress was amazing! Kept coming to fill up my mimosa. We had shots, i felt celebrated the entire time. Owner came by and checked in on us too. The DJ was a vibe! Loved him and he kept shouting out all the birthdays in the room. There are 2 bathrooms which we didn't figure out until later because there was only a sign for 1 of the 2 bathrooms but once we figured it out, we saw the cute photo op area in the back. It's literally directly behind the DJ. The place is decorated beautifully and plenty of options for pics. Food was great, drinks were great and so were the vibes. When we entered, we were greeted with kind smiles from the ladies and they welcomed us to sit at any free table. Inside has lots of decor with ample seating. We sat and a server grabbed us menus. We got a carnitas burrito, grilled cactus side, horchata, and strawberry limeade (per her recommendation). Everything came so fast, and they even split the burrito for us! Oh my god, everything was so good. This has to be one of the BEST burritos I have ever had, comparable to the ones in San Diego. I love carnitas, and they do it so well here. It was tender, flavorful, just the perfect amount of sauce and seasoning! And the horchata was the best I have ever had too! The strawberry limeade was refreshing, and the grilled cactus was good! I usually go to the Westchester Square spot as it's the location closest to my parents, but I've also been to their restaurant in Kingsbridge and (most recently) this one on Westchester Ave. The standard items one would expect to find at a Mexican restaurant are on EP's menu. What makes them stand out for me though, is the vast selection they have within each menu section and the quality of they food they serve. My usual go-tos are their burritos and tacos - they offer a variety of proteins to complement and they're always delicious. Outside of that, their soups are great as well as their nachos. I've only eaten in-house a few times; my standard is takeout and it's always ready by the promise time. Overall, Estrellita is a resounding yes for me; they are one of the best examples of quality and consistency, and I would always recommend them for good Mexican food in the Bronx.
