MY ORDER POLLO SALTADO WITH FRIED EGG AND EXTRA CHICKEN BEVERAGE GINGER ALE (changed it to Sprite in a can) It was a very large dining area and there were customers (one family) and a couple. Plus a few friends at the bar. Wasn't fully busy though. Close to empty. I sat solo with my own table. The waitress and staff nearby immediately greeted me. I arrived there around 8 after. Throughout the whole day I was craving Saltado for months. I've been to my usual spots multiple times yet I was craving for something new. After the New Rochelle Jazz Festival; I roamed the streets of "New Ro" seeking any signs for apartment for rent... "the undercover listings". The listings that never are found online. Overall I passed by a million and 1 HIGH RISE LUXURY APARTMENTS (that are ultra expensive and probably still have my name on their imaginary waiting list for affordable housing units) anyways I came across Olibar while food hunting and I ordered the Pollo Saltado with a single fried egg (extra fee) (friend perfectly and gooey), I substituted white rice for their yellow rice (extra fee) but tasted good, and then I added extra pollo are individually seasoned and fully cooked. I have no complaints other than changing my beverage order from the fountain ginger ale to a canned sprite. The waitress was friendly and nice, the bathroom was clean. We've ordered from here a few times and have not had any issues with the food. My family loves Peruvian and their pollo al a brasa (rotisserie chicken) is really good. The food always arrives warm and packaged well. They give good portion sizes as well. We usually get a whole chicken, which comes with two sides (fries for the kiddo and maduros for all), chaufa de carne, and tamal de pollo. I've ordered tallarines verdes (green noodz) that I usually love from other restaurants, but did not enjoy the flavor from here. It was extremely salty and not appetizing at all. Everything else has been decent. I love a tamale and theirs taste good but I wish, especially for the price, that they would be filled with more protein. I initially did not want to order from here because the reviews were not promising but they are mostly from patrons that dined in. We took a chance and I'm happy we did because for delivery, they're solid. I'd probably prefer ordering and picking up because of the price mark-up on items when ordered through delivery apps. They're not too far from us so pickup could also be an option. Just a couple of tips...make sure to get extra green sauce because it's really good. They also send a pickled onion condiment that tastes amazing. It has lots of cilantro and lime juice. Sooo tangy and the acidity compliments the chicken. read more

I called for delivery, the girl answered me rudely, they say delivery between 30 to 45 minutes, it takes more than 1 hour, then they tell you that they lost the order and they don't have your delivery, meaning I was left without eating, because according to what they lost the invoice, I do not recommend at all that they order delivery or that they went to said establishment, without a doubt among Latinos not an adequate service, an American service is preferable. read more

The food is actually pretty tasty here. I haven't had anything but the chicken, yellow rice and tostones and it's always delicious. I've eaten at a lot of Peruvian restaurants and I'm also Hispanic so I'm pretty critical of Hispanic food. I cannot report on anything else, though because we always order the same food. 1 star because I had food delivered from them and the driver wouldn't bring the food up the stairs (I live in an apartment on 4th floor). He actually ended up bringing the food back to the restaurant because I wouldn't come down! I'm 8 months pregnant and I'm super in my feelings about it. I paid about $19.00 for a mixed lomo platter and I only received about 10 small pieces of meat, a bunch of French fries and the rest was full of white rice . Went for brunch last Sunday. The food was okay. The presentation of some of the food made it undesirable. Customer service was good.

They get 1 star for the very poor service. We ordered drinks and they were finally delivered to the table 45 mins after initial order. Food- 1/2 of the orders arrived and then 10 mins later, the other half ---note, this was at least 50 mins after order was placed. Then at the end, the desserts were incorrect. (We sent 1 back and took the other to-go) This whole ordeal was a total of almost 3hrs. Unacceptable. It's sad they dont have proper staffing given their food is of good quality. This place has the potential to be great but it is poorly managed. Sadly, will not be returning. read more

I really like the idea of being able to order Peruvian near by and right off Yelp. I ordered on a Wednesday evening at around 7:15 and the food came right before 8 (awesome). I ordered papa a la huacaina and choritos A la chalaca..my boyfriend ordered a lomo saltado. I honestly can't complain it was all pretty good...the only thing that I didn't like was that the Choritos a la Chalaca were in plastic shot glasses pretty much...it made me question if they were fresh and made me uneasy to even try them....I ended up trying one and it did taste fine but I don't want to feel like I'm taking a gamble with seafood. Wow! Causa de camarones was zesty! The yuca la huancaina appetizer eas memorable. This spot Just opened up but if they keep putting out great dishes like this they will stand out in the sea of great eateries in New Rochelle. My date seems happy with the ceviche. My fries and pescado dish (lomo saltado) which the dish made specially for me because it's only typically made with steak was a tad salty for my liking but tasty non the less. Non the less great service to match the great tasting dishes. Will visit again. Can't imagine this good will taste much better in Peru. Can't wait to visit. read more

My father is ecuadorian so I consider myself a good judge of south american food. Seco de carne was perfect - tender and flavorful. Pollo Saltado was good i prefer the fries be fresh cut i hate when places use the frozen brand fries - defeats the purpose - still good nonetheless. Their green sauce is spicy and sweet at the same time perfect sauce for the fried yuca. Cebolla con limon was perfect kick for every dish. I did not eat in the restaurant so i cant rate service but the food hit the spot. 4 stars to balance out the reviews - you cant make everybody happy but i would eat their food again! read more
