Great food! I haven't had a Carne Asada that comes close to the one here!

I do think that a mix of the steak and other dishes is a good balance but it would've been great to have more greens as an option. But then again, this isn't something that is unique to this restaurant alone or the type of cuisine. I would love to watch a great soccer game or other sports event here to root on a local team. It is the perfect combination of solid food, genuine vibes, and great service.

I looked at their menu, then set out to learn about their various entrees. My husband agreed to give it a try. Before going, we settled on trying "Pabellon Criollo" which is considered the Venezuelan national dish. We were here on a Saturday around 5 p.m. and were surprised to see a few large parties dining in. Also, people came in to get their takeout orders. Not sure as to how the ordering worked when dining in, we made our way to their counter. The owner, Carlos, spotted us and got 2 menus. We confirmed that we wanted to dine in. Carlos is very friendly and welcomes customers with a smile. He also was our server. To drink, I had a lemonade while my husband had a can of Coke. We let Carlos know that we were both having the Pabellon Criollo. This dish consists of black beans with a bit of shredded cheese on top, white rice, carne mechado (which was shredded), 2 arepitas (small arepas) and some platanos maduros. When the food came, it was obvious that the platanos were freshly made. Carlos also brought a bottle of brazza sauce (also called "salsa de amor). He told us we could put it on any item we wanted. It's a mild sauce which is mayonnaise based with cilantro. We enjoyed this dish. Everything was mildly seasoned yet still well flavored. Nothing went to waste! When it was time to pay the check, Carlos rang us up. We both say we would like to return and try their steaks. From start to finish, we had a great experience.

They had a open sign up and no one was inside but the workers (I came at 11ish am during lunch). The photos really helped me decide what to choose. They don't have great descriptions if you like knowing everything that is in the dish- but they do have a basic description in english under the pictures. I got a some tacos and a cheese bean wrap burrito with a coke! I really enjoyed the taco's (that were packaged to go). They tasted fresh and included a lime with fresh cilantro and some diced onions. The burrito cheese bean wrap was kind of soggy after travel so I didn't really enjoy it. The coke was super yummy - I don't know what it is about coke in a glass bottle that really pairs nicely with mexican and el Salvadorian food! The inside of the restaurant was very aesthetically appealing. It looked like they re-did the entire place with three different themed areas. Family dinning, main room dinning and a tiki bar on the other side. I think this place does a fair amount of night life as there were lots of pre-strung lights throughout and a disco ball plus speaker systems. If in the area, I would definitely try this place again!

I think this meant that they thought we wanted to order carry out so we never received menus to look at and instead were trying to read off a broken TV displaying the menu but the options were rotating too fast. While we were trying to figure out what to order the women at the front started ignoring us and when we were ready it took around fifteen minutes for them to come out again. The tortilla chips that we got with our guac to share were straight Tostitos. Expected better. My friend enjoyed her carne asada tacos but as a pescatarian one of the only options was a bean and cheese pupusa which was okay at best. It was super salty and a bit burnt and overall not worth it.

La Pupusa Loca -- Sterling, VA…read more I can't stop raving about La Pupusa Loca in Sterling! From the first bite, I could tell this place is committed to authentic Salvadoran flavor. The revuelta pupusas were packed with cheese, beans, and pork--they didn't skimp on the fillings. Every bite was rich and satisfying I also tried their La Pupusa Familiar (the pizza‑sized pupusa), and wow--eight giant slices, each like two regular pupusas in thickness and flavor. The bean‑and‑cheese rice version was out‑of‑this‑world cheesy, the perfect mix of gooey cheese and savory bean flavor. Huge portions, and every slice was amazing Their queso con loroco pupusa paired with their house-made salsa roja is truly special--the best I've ever tasted. It's bold and flavorful, and the salsa perfectly complements the cheesy loroco stuffing Service here is friendly and efficient--even when they're busy, the staff handles orders quickly and with a smile. A few reviewers mentioned the place can get lively or have a short wait, but that just means it's popular--and for a good reason! If you're craving top-tier Salvadoran food in Virginia, this is it. No frills, but every dish is packed with heart and flavor. I'll definitely be coming back--and you should too!
