My family has been coming here for 6+ years at least once a week. It's our favorite Mexican restaurant. The food has always been great. Very consistent every time we come. We've tried multiple dishes and have not been disappointed. My kids love the chips and salsa compared to most other Mexican restaurants. The service is always quick and friendly. Everyone pretty much knows our orders at this point. We're always greeted immediately by the hosts, and our waiter/waitress not long after. They are always happy to talk and catch up. There are probably 3 or 4 closer locations to us (live in West Jordan), but with the service and food we've had consistently at this location, it's worth the drive. read more

First, I ordered fried jalapeños, not really knowing what they. All I knew was I loved spicy food and I wanted to try this wha ever it was. They were 3 whole fried jalapeños covered in a spice. They were still hot as in spicy hot) but they were also mellow at the same time. I'd never had jalapeños like this before, and I will be back just for these! I loved cutting them up and eating them with my veggie quesadillas and bean tostada. The grilled onions and peppers in the quesadillas were really good and had a nice grilled flavor. Warning: Cockroach I feel so bad for having to say this but with the current state of this place, I do not recommend. When entering, we were warmly greeted by the host who sat us instantly. The restaurant is decent sized and cutely decorated. The tables are all already set with a pitcher of water, bowl of chips and salsa. This was a nice surprise to us until an incident we encountered after we had already finished our food (more on that later). Our server was quick to come to our table, was friendly and helped us understand the menu. Our food came out at a reasonable time. The portions are pretty large. My husband ordered the larger sampler plate and was satisfied with his order. Our daughter and I ordered the special for the day which was two chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce and rice and beans. My daughter said she liked hers. I'm sort of a stickler for authentic tasting Mexican rice. The rice here was okay but lacked seasoning. Just very tomato-y. The beans were a bit undercooked but were also just okay. The enchiladas were good. I would just suggest they use a little less lime juice because ours was a bit over powered with it. Our son got the kids cheeseburger with French fries. The fries were on point. The burger was as good as a Mexican restaurant burger gets lol. It was edible Now, here's where our visit took an unfortunate and unexpected turn.... I had taken my son to use the restroom and there was a cockroach. I know these pests happen. But what worries me is that they leave out chips at every table. They even have stacks of bowl of chips at a counter out in the open. I don't know how well they try to control the roaches but I can't help but worry that they could find their way to the chips or any other food in the back? Goodbye old friend. My family and I have been going to this restaurant for 16 years. We know the owner, he knows us. Over the last 5-6 years we have seldomly ate here for a few reasons. The quality has decreased, the rice is often hard. Last night we decided to give it another go hoping for a better (old time) experience. I ordered a smothered burrito- and received a flat tortilla smothered with a little amount of beans on the inside . There were a total of 2 chunks of pork on the outside of the plate and zero pork on the inside of my burrito. My husband also ordered a smothered burrito and received a bean and cheese burrito half ass smothered. My son didn't get a side of beans he ordered and the waitress didn't give us a chance to order drinks. Their prices have doubled since our last visit as well. I paid $15 for a burrito smothered in chili verde sauce without the protein. I'm highly disappointed and it was unanimous this restaurant is no longer what it once was, we will unfortunately not be back. read more

Mexican food is my favorite and I'm always trying to find restaurants near my home that compare to the food I get when I am in Mexico - so was excited to try this place out. I asked our waiter what he recommended and he suggested the chili verde smothered burrito. I ordered it and it took up the whole plate. But overall it wasn't very big, they were just generous with the sauce - which I appreciate. I was shocked to see that if you wanted to add rice and beans to the burrito it was an extra $6! That is crazy in my opinion! The restaurant was nice and the staff were all very kind. We got seated fast and it didn't take long for our hot meals to be delivered to our table. This is a great restaurant. I highly recommend the chicken chimichanga or the small combo of your hungry. They have great chips and salsa, and the waiters are always super friendly and attentive. Just ok overall. Waiter took a little while to take the order. Was seated in a section with tall partitions so I was able to waive anyone down. The veggie burrito here was made with like a Mission brand tortilla instead of the big thin taqueria style. Food quality I would give a 6.5.. was a little dry with meat. Not a ton of flavor. Two tiny pieces of meat for the chili verde? You need to do a little better. The salsa I would go a solid 7. We have a 7 year running joke about about this place, and goes like this: "American Fork La Fountain doesn't exist" Why? We love the La Fountains in Riverton, Herriman, Sandy. This location though is just outright terrible. Last night we were in the area again and were feeling Mexican so we decided to give it another chance. It had been a couple years since our last visit and we were thinking "Maybe its improved or they are under new management." Nope, the entire situation was so bad it was just comical. Reasons: 1) They "preload" the chips/salsa & a pitcher of water onto the tables at dinner time. Great, efficiency, awesome. The problem though comes in when you've been sitting for 15 minutes, out of salsa, and your server still hasn't come by to introduce themselves or take your order. 2) The food here doesn't taste the same as the other La Fountains. The combination platter is "infused" with hot chili powder. The beans are off. Smothered burrito are half the size and the sauce is different. 3) More expensive. No "Combo" meals. 4) Don't expect a refill if you order a (very expensive) soda. 5) Better ask for your check when the server drops off your food because you'll never see him again. Overall - They should rename this restaurant because a "La Fountain" it is not. Worst service I've received at ANY eating establishment by far. Well this place was did not disappoint in anyway! I left there so stuffed and satisfied beyond any fat guys dreams! The place was amazing and the family atmosphere was great. Being a Saturday and how busy it was still top notch. Very very clean and the restrooms where spotless! Needless to say you don't find to many clean restrooms anymore. Now for food! Yep fat guy approved!! Did the three smothered burritos with cheese and onions!!! Yep I was able to eat them all!!! Wow it was amazing food, wife had the two smothered burritos, only ate half there was so much food!!!! My kids loved there bean and cheese burrito and the other had the smothered one with rice. If you want some kick ass Mexican food in Lehi this is the place seriously!!! I'm 100% full Mexican and I was raised on this food!!! When I say this is legit I mean it is!!! Why is good Mexican food so hard to find in Utah? We come here occasionally because it's the closest Mexican restaurant to our house. The service has gotten better over time but at one point was awful. Sometimes they act like they don't need business and can't be standoffish and rude. I think they recently changed their salsa and I miss the old one. Their old salsa was one of their highlights! So hopefully they bring it back. Their tortillas are good if you like fluffy! I stumbled upon La Fountain while scoping the area for some Mexican food. I walked in, was greeted, and seated right away. They immediately brought me that lil paper placemat, salsa, chips, a water, and of course the menus. I am going to be honest, I didn't even really review the menu. The little weekday specials caught my eye and I knew that is what I wanted. I really liked two things about these weekday specials. First of all, you can pick your own day of the week. It doesn't specifically have to be that day of the week. Additionally, it comes with a soft drink, which is more than most places can say so I was happy about that. My food came out at a decent time and was super hot. The flavor was honestly pretty mediocre but it wasn't bad by any means either. The service was pretty good. It definitely wasn't the fastest but they weren't ever rude or anything. Overall, this is a pretty awesome Mexican restaurant in the Lehi area! read more

Tried this place on a whim when Mi Ranchito was closed and we were craving Mexican. First, the place is so dark inside it is uncomfortable. It took forever for the 1 waiter to get us our drinks and even longer to take our order. The menu is hard to read because they have too many confusing options on there. There is more Americanized food than Mexican. We got Green Chile enchiladas and my kids got corn dogs and French fries. The enchiladas were not good. There was no pork on the inside, it was mainly rubberized cheese and tortilla. The beans and rice on the side were ok. I ate more of my kids French fries than I did my meal. It took us 20 minutes to try and get the waiters attention to ask him to bring more water. I won't be eating here again. Not a good experience. read more

Kind of surprised at the reviews of this place because it is one of my favorite places. I have dined in a few times but we mostly get take out. When I am craving Mexican food this is usually my first choice. My husband and I like to get an order of three chili verde burritos smothered in cheese and three cheese enchiladas and we will share. The burritos have some heat to them but not so much you have a hard time eating them like my grandmas chili verde and you cant go wrong with plain old cheese enchiladas. Not Authentic at all. I got the shredded beef soft tacos and they had almost no flavor. It was a little more like an expensive del taco than an actual Mexican restaurant. My sister got the chorizo soft tacos and it was pretty much just flavorless canned chili in a taco.
