It had been a while since my last visit to this restaurant, so we decided to stop by again. The food was good and flavorful, but it's definitely on the pricier side. To give an idea of the cost: a two-item combo was $17.95, a kids bean and cheese burrito was $5.95 (not including the $3.95 apple juice), and the shrimp cocktail was $20.95. They also charge extra for sour cream (about $0.75). I'm guessing some of the pricing may reflect the location on this side of town. As for the food itself, it was solid and pretty standard for Mexican food. I ordered the shrimp cocktail, which came served in a huge margarita glass (super cute presentation) and it was loaded with shrimp. It was delicious, and I finished every last drop. My husband ordered the enchilada dinner special, which is his usual favorite, and my child had the bean and cheese burrito. Overall, this is a good spot for an occasional meal, but probably not somewhere I'd visit every week because of the prices. One tip: if you have those local high school football discount cards, use them here. They can save you about $5 on a $35 purchase. read more

Every time we come here, it's always a great experience! Javi is a great bartender- whenever we order food to-go; he allows us to sit at the bar and have a drink while we wait. He offers to put it in a to-go cup also. I would love a larger patio, just like the one on Allen and Brimhall, but we'll settle for the intimate setting for now. Hopefully it expands soon! read more

Im very skeptical and super judgmental when it comes to Mexican restaurants. But I have to say that Rancho Grande is probably one of the better ones in town. We usually only come in for lunch during g the week with coworkers and they have decent lunch menu. I tend to always order their enchiladas suizas. They are prepared well and very flavorful. I also had their chile relleno ( not pictured), but didn't care for it. It was breaded, literally. Maybe that's a Telmex thing, idk... I have never been to this restaurant but my buddies and I wanted to try it out. We went on taco Tuesday and we got seated right away. The staff were all very kind and told us about the different types of margaritas and drinks. We each chose a fruity margarita and they were good. They brought us chips and salsa right away and those were really good. My friend ordered guacamole for the table and that was so fresh and delicious. I ordered chili Colorado enchiladas to go. Menu describes them as sirloin steak cut in strips and cooked red sauce. The sauce was amazing. The meat was not good. It was tiny chopped up pieces of something. It didn't taste like sirloin. Worse part was that Most pieces had pieces of fat and/or chunks of gristle. They are so friendly here. There are times when I come to a restaurant and the hostess ask me, "how many?", I get weird looks when I answer, "just 1, please." Not here.... they were so attentive to me without being overbearing. They greeted me with a smile, led me to my table, brought my ice tea over with a hefty full of warm chips and salsa. The food came piping hot and incredibly delicious. There was so much food, definitely a bang of your buck! Soccer was playing on the TVs, drinks were being poured from the fully stocked bar... looks and feels like a fiesta in this very quaint place. My fiancé and I went for a late dinner, and were not disappointed. The service was among the best we've had in a while. The servers were constantly checking on us to see if we needed anything, and our cups never ran empty. I ordered the fajitas and they were absolutely mouth watering. The chicken was juicy not dry like some other places I've gone to and also ordered the chicken fajitas. The dining area was a bit small I can see it being a bit overstimulating for some, but there is enough space between tables to where you don't have to hear peoples conversations. We had dinner at Rancho Grande and as usual they did not disappoint. The restaurant was clean and very busy. We waiting for a few minutes before a table became open. I ordered the Fish Tacos and my wife ordered the Chicken Flautas. My Fish Tacos were very flavorful with lots of fish inside. The rice and beans complimented them nicely. My wife said the Chicken Flautas were well seasoned and the chicken was cooked perfectly. There were a out three people working in the area we sat. We decided to go to a different restaurant rather than our usuals. I had lived near the other location for years and never tried it. The place looked really nice coming in. It looks like they wanted a more authentic look and they did a great job. They have tons of beautiful plates and decor on the wall and the tables look custom made with each table and chairs having an image of Mexico and the culture. Staff was superb! They were super friendly. They checked up on us and they were on top of their game. What I noticed and I did like what I saw was that a lot of customers that came in were regulars. The staff knew them by name and remembered what these people liked and if they were going to get the "usual" today. I come from a small town so when I see that, this type of behavior is like a small town... meaning, everyone feels welcomed here and it's like family. Food was good, they give a good amount of food. To me, it's a little pricier than I thought it was going to be, but wasnt a killer. If I was in the neighborhood again, I would like to come back. They were OK but when you split along plate of nachos I was on the far side from the salsa, the closest to the Guacamole, guacamole was very good. Meat was a little chewy. A great place to sit down and have Mexican Food. This restaurant is beautifully decorated. I came in after the lunch hour and only a few tables were taken on a Tuesday. They brought me out the complimentary salsa and chips and both were just okay but definitely not the best, for sure I ordered the Chili Verde Nachos (15.95) and there was definitely enough for two. I'm a big eater and I was shy of eating half. The pork was very tender and added great taste to the Nachos. Though they tasted great I wouldn't order it again as it's just too much for one person. My girlfriend introduced me to this restaurant a few months ago and we've been about 4-5 times since then and the experience is always the same... The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and welcoming. We've never walked in and not been greeted within the first 10 seconds, even when they're very busy. The chips and salsa are fantastic. The chips are home made so they have a unique flavor and crisp even without the salsa, but the salsa is delicious also (not too spicy, but not too bland). I've gotten a different shrimp entree each time and they've all been great. Whether it's garlic butter, spicy pepper sauce or just from the grill, they are fantastic. My girlfriend usually gets enchiladas and she always states they are delicious as well. The plates are always full of food and it's hard to finish, you might have a little bit to take home for leftovers if you indulge into the chips and salsa a little too much. They even have a small bar with open seating and will have a sports event or two showing while you eat. Overall this establishment is great. The atmosphere is as good as the food. Found Rancho Grande on Yelp. We are in a hotel and have a dog so outdoor seating is what we needed. We arrived at 5:30pm and this place was packed. So this made me think it must be good, and I was pleasantly correct. We put our name in and after 20 minutes we were given chips, salsa, and drinks. We put in our order and after about 10 minutes, our food came out. Very colorful and with a lot of flavor. Bummer we had to fight off a ton of flies and the heat.
