I loved my entire experience from start to finish at this incredible restaurant. The service is fantastic. The people that work here seem like they are very happy. The food is beyond outstanding. I would love to eat here every single night of the week ha ha ha! They were so kind to put on the different games on tv that we requested in the bar area. Lilly is one of the best bartenders I've ever met... And she gave me some tips about how to order my margarita back home. Maya is an excellent waitress and gave us absolutely outstanding customer service. She managed our group which wasn't simple... She made recommendations and serve the food so timely. I'd like to give a shout out to the chefs in the back because they make absolutely outrageously fantastic Mexican food. I can tell these people have been doing this for a while and I'm wondering which mamas recipe am I eating! If you want great Mexican food... This is your place. I also love the patio on the river and I think whoever is doing the flowers out back has a tender touch and an eye for Beauty. They really make a difference. One of my favorite parts of my evening as I met this beautiful soul Milagros and her sweet counterpart! Milagros is a precious soul who makes the tortillas... These tortillas are so perfectly shaped and perfectly made. I wish I had this kind of talent. She was so quiet... but devoted to her craft! I can see that she put LOVE into making these tortillas! El Mirador has become a go to spot on Sundays for us. It's particularly good when friends want to go somewhere that has solid food, where we can visit, but the service is also quick. Why the food scene in the area continues on an upward project, there are precious view, restaurants that are open on Sundays, particularly on Sunday nights. These guys seated our party of nine quickly, or super friendly and make sure everybody left full. Paragraph Mexican food in Yakima generally falls into two categories... Quick, with a little bit of grime (not in a bad way!) or sit down and a little nicer. The spot is the ladder. The portions are big, they serve really good chips, salsa, and pico before the meals, I've got a solid bar selection, and the food is routine excellent. Over the past year, our samplings have arranged from Molcajete, fried chicken and deep, specialty dishes, all the way to whole roasted fish. Truthfully, or yet to eat something we don't like! Last evening, we sampled the pollo a la parrilla - boss level stuff! One of our favorite things about it is the fact that you can substitute the rice and beans for a bunch of roasted vegetables. The veggies here are top notch as a side! This place used to be a popular brunch spot called Marty's, back in the 90s, and while I have fond memories there, they are definitely doing a good job replacing them with ones with the current restaurant. We got into town around dinner time. Very tired but knew we wanted Mexican and chose this place because it was close to our hotel. The weird handicap spot we parked in faced the busy street and was just a regular spot with a handicap sign; was a bit tight & difficult getting in/out of the car. But the parking lot was still pretty full at 8:30pm. The restaurant has lots of fun Mexican decor & filled with smells that made your mouth water! The downside was that it was extremely loud & we had a very difficult time hearing our waiter. I'm extremely picky when it comes to chili rellenos and was surprised to discover that they actually make both the omelette style (I can do that one at home!) and the traditional style (YAY!!!). All the food was very good, and so was service! While I would return, there are a lot of other great sounding places in the area too! read more

Came in from out of town, haven't been around here in years...did a yelp search and found this place. I remember it from long ago Marty days. Decided to give it a try. So glad we did!! Our sever greeted us and with a smile and "what can I get for you to drink?" We placed our orders, got to chat about the "good old days" and boom food came out piping hot from kitchen!! I had ordered enchilada and a taco, Hubbs got a chimichanga and a burrito...portions are big so neither of us finished our food. The chips, salsa and beans had already come out along with our Dos Equis... Everyone was dressed for Halloween so it was perfect for the kids that came in as well. The hostess told us those groups got sat because they were willing to be split up at different tables. So we left and went somewhere else, where they were willing to seat us. Great food, great portions and a friendly server! Went to El Mirador for the first time despite the lower rating on Yelp. It was a happening place with a good lively vibe. Wait time for a table for 5 was about 20 minutes around 5:45pm. not bad at all. But beware, when we left at 7pm the waiting area was packed. I imagine that wait time was 45-to-an-hour. I ordered off the appetizer menu and the portion was perfect for a meal. I had three quesabirria tacos that were hot, cheesy, and perfect with the cilantro and consommé. I added a tamale on the side which was good, but I realize my issues with texture made me not enjoy it as much as I hoped. Not the restaurants problem though! Tamales are just not for me. But the bright side was that it was piping hot and I ate all three melty cheese lol! Two of my kids got their usual order from Mexican restaurants....Carne Asada, no beans and flour tortillas. It was flavorful with a nice char. Pretty standard but that's what they like! My hubby had the chorizo burrito and my other kiddo had the macho burrito. They were both satisfied and I don't think the macho burrito had a chance! That plate was almost licked clean. Highly recommend! read more

This evening we dined at Mirrador 2 our most visited Mexican restaurant in Yakima. We like the location because it is close to terrace heights where we live and it has a lovely view of the Greenway and river. Its ambience as well as the tasty food keep us coming back regularly. last time we ate here, while my wife's meal was good my fajitas were not what they should be. i couldn't finish it and didn't bring it home. I wrote a review giving the resturant a rating of 2. I was contacted by their general manager asking if they could make it right. I accepted and am glad I did. my fajitas as well as my wife's meal was great as usual. Not only did they comp my meal but on the way out the manager apologized again for our last visit and presented us with a $15 gift certificate. We thanked her and tried to refuse it but she insisted we take it. We both felt appreciated. Thank you Vilma. You will continue to be our go to Mexican resturant in Yakima. read more

We stopped at the hotel for the night on our way to Walla Walla and we tried El Mirador because it was one block away. I ordered the food on the phone and when I walked over to pick it up...Wow! The restaurant was beautiful. I wish we had the energy to dine in but we were so tired from our trip. The staff were very friendly and the food was ready when they said it would be. The food....nom nom! So good! I had enchiladas with beans and rice. Delicious. The salsa....excellent! Next time we stay at that hotel, we'll definitely go back and try dining in. read more

The food has great taste and the service is wonderful, however, I think the food is overpriced for what it is. We thought we were paying 21.99 for the Molcajete, but it turns out there are two different sizes and we thought that to be misleading. We ended up paying 29.95 for the molcajete and 15.95 for the salad. I am sure we will return, but we will be very careful of what we order next time and definitely not the molcajete. read more

el mirador 2 is your average texmex restaurant. i came here in a party of 14-15 folks and they gave us a big table. the servers speak spanish and english. as soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a huge christmas tree which was super cute (we visited during the holidays) and there's a blackboard with some lunch specials/daily specials. take note of these if you're interested because they didn't mention them when taking our orders! the menu is very large with lots of options. they have separate menus for dinner and lunch with different prices and there are a LOT of options to choose from. we ordered a lot of food, i don't know everybody's orders but from my side of the table, we had ordered these items (mostly from the lunch menu): - carnitas - steak ranchero - chilaquiles con pollo - burrito - burrito with cream nothing really wow'd me except the size of the dishes - the burritos that we had ordered were the size of small babies. for the cost, i would say this spot is fairly affordable with the large portion sizes - you could easily make 2 meals out of one of the lunch dishes! read more

The service was good, and the food came out quickly. The rice and beans were quite good. However, the fish tacos had next to no flavor. They were like a tortilla filled with cabbage. I honestly didn't taste any fish in any of the three tacos I had. It did appear to be there, though. My partner seemed happy enough with their choice of a taco salad in a deep-fried shell, but I was a little disturbed to see that after a couple of minutes, it was sitting in a pool of grease that leaked out of it.
