This is our first time dining at El Molcajete Mexican Restaurant. It's in a little strip mall on Lee Vista. There are beautiful wall murals and plenty of indoor seating. They offer cocktails and beer. The menu has many choices. My husband had the steak burrito and I had the birria tacos. Both were delicious. Our server was Karen and she was so efficient and friendly. She was the only person we saw working the floor as she made the bar drinks, served the patrons, ran the cash register and handle the take out orders. She never got flustered or lost the smile on her face. She had excellent customer service under very busy circumstances. We will definitely return to try more delicious food.

Looked like an authentic Mexican restaurant. Place is clean, plenty of parking. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Felt like Mexico- music, crowd and food! Ordered tacos- carnitas, tripe and tongue. Very tasty and enough spices. The cilantro was not overpowering. Their chips was really good. Salsa was a little bit bland. Also ordered the chicharon taco- their specialty. 3 corn tortillas with fried chicharon and pico de gallo. It was large serving and very filling

We went here for a last minute dinner while running errands. It had good reviews so we figured why not! The restaurant was clean and cute. Our server was attentive and sweet. We started out on a bad foot when our salsa had a large black hair in it right on top. She quickly apologized and got us a new one. The food was average at best. My boyfriend had a burrito and I had chicken flautas which tasted like canned chicken. Not sure that we would go back. There are far better restaurants in Orlando.

I love Mexican food!! And I love that El Molcajete is just down the street from my house. I usually have to venture out to get Mexican food not even realizing that there's a really good one in my neighborhood. Took us a while to try it out but glad we finally did. There were only a few cars out in the parking lot when we came in on a Friday afternoon so I was a bit skeptical at first. I kept asking myself, "is it good? Is it not good?" But as soon as we sat down, I was happy that it wasn't crowded like most restaurants are. There were a few other diners there. We got our waitress full attention and she was super nice too. We looked at the menu and noticed that happy hour is everyday from 3-6pm. We ordered a few house margaritas. I had my rim with tajin. Very tasty and quite strong too. Not bad for $8. Although I should have just stuck with 1 margarita because I was a bit tipsy after that first one. The food was good too. We started with chips and queso dip. Our waitress asked if we wanted our queso thick and creamy or smooth and runny. Didn't know we had a choice. We went with the smooth and runny texture because why not? And then we shared the steak fajita and deep fried ice cream for dessert. I highly recommend anyone that loves Mexican food to give el molcajete a try. The food is delicious, happy hour is everyday including the weekends, they've got daily specials, staff are really friendly, it's not crowded and there's plenty of parking. What more could you ask for?

Food was good and Tamarin margarita was ok. Would've preferred the passion fruit, which they were unfortunately out of. No tres leches to take home either :(. Shrimp fajitas were a little dry. Hubby's Texan burrito was much better! lol! Overall the servers are what make this place! They're so sweet and accommodating!

Wanted to try something new this week and even though this place is close and isn't super new to the area it was new to us! So glad we went. Our server was new and she apologized repeatedly for missing an item in our order, it's totally fair, everyone has to learn and honestly she apologized more than necessary we weren't stressed. This felt super authentic, and tasted great. The chorizo cheese dip was so good I scraped the plate and took it home! I'm a sucker for thicker chips and I loved these. Can't wait to go back! It was clean and cute inside and it wasn't busy! We even signed up for the rewards club and started earning points.

Regular and Spicy Salsa. Guess which one is spicy...

I tell you what. Hidden gems are hard to find, but once found, put an X on the treasure map, 'cause you're gonna want to come back for more. That's what you'll get from this place! For our Valentine's evening, my wife and I started out with the chips with regular and spicy salsa COMBINED. Soooo goood! We also tried their queso and their top shelf guacamole. A little heavy on the lime which we LOVED. For our main course, we shared the Ramen Wednesday (Birria) and the Chimichanga with grilled chicken. Explosion of flavors. You need to try the Ramen Birria. It's such a unique dish. Just look at the pics! And finally dessert. The best Tres Leches in town. Seriously. No joke. If you're looking for some amazing Mexican cuisine, look no further. Trust me... "They're your tastebuds. Satisfy them!" -Allan Delacruz

We ended up here by accident. This Mexican dinner was very simple and the flavors on our meal was delicious. Waitress was very friendly and the food came out quickly . The music playing inside was very warm

First time trying their chicken soup and it was delicious and perfect for a cold day. Their tacos are also always good and ask for the Verde sauce (green salsa. The chips and salsa they bring to the table when you first sit down is amazing as well and don't forget the horchata. Best horchata I've had in Orlando. The waitress was very nice and made recommendations as well. The inside of the restaurant was very aesthetically pleasing with LED lights and bright colors.

Food was amazing and drinks Ceviche was great not to many places make it like this Mexican Mule and Jalapeño margarita where on point!

Shared Fajitas dinner and a plate each of rice and beans. (2nd plate of rice and beans didn't make the pic lol)

This is a Happy Hour stop for me. I haven't been here in a few months. I appreciate the prompt sitting. Fun music is always playing. There are a couple of TVs playing sports. Service is great, waitresses are very polite and attentive. They brought out chips and salsa to the table. I had the steak street tacos without onions and a house margarita on the rocks with salt. I asked for the green salsa for the tacos. I usually don't have high expectations for happy hour drinks in general. This margarita surpassed my expectations. It was just what I needed. Cheers! I look forward to another happy hour.

Feels somewhat like a small-town diner. The menu has awesome choices, but there's a ton of stuff that is $30+ (several $50+) and I really didn't want to spend that much on lunch. I picked a snapper sandwich with a side caesar & my friend got a shrimp quesadilla. They came out about 10-15 mins later. price seemed a bit high, but i know costs have skyrocketed lately, so them's the breaks. The fish on my sandwich was flavorful - but very dry. Would have been better cooked with some kind of fat. The bread was fluffy & nice, but fell apart right away. The veggies in the sandwich were fresh & bright. The caesar side was amazing. they gave me tartar & ketchup, so i asked for cocktail sauce because ketchup is weird for this. No problem. I didn't even finish half because it was so big! My friend's quesadilla was very tasty, but for some reason, it's an absolute oil slick. So the opposite end of the spectrum lol. She enjoyed it but couldn't finish because it was too greasy. There was a thick layer of oil on the plate and on the quesadilla. The ladies working there are really nice & helpful. They checked on us several times. I paid really fast & they got us out the door in less than 45 minutes! I would love to get some of the fancier stuff sometime, but would probably want to eat it elsewhere, because the diner feel doesn't match how fancy the food is. But overall, great experience with the asterisk being the cooking styles & plain appearance. I thought i got pics but can't find them now, but the presentation was great.

Walking in, I was greeted by a friendly young gentleman. I had placed a to-go order and within minutes, my food was handed to me. I had ordered the grouper with fried rice and vegetable medley and the calamari appetizer. I have to say that both the grouper and calamari were excellent. The fried rice and vegetable medley were also pretty amazing. The prices here are very good. The grouper plate was about twenty-two dollars and the calamari was about eighteen dollars. The quality of the food could definitely rival more expensive restaurants. I will definitely have to return here and I will give it five stars for an incredible meal.

Figured my chances were slim, but Tonya (or perhaps Tonia) the manager ensured that my dining dreams came true. She was very helpful, fitting us in at 8:30. The door to enter the restaurant isn't prominently labeled, so I always second guess if I have the right way. It's a classy feel inside with lighting that sets the mood, as well as cohesive fixtures and accents. Tablet menus? Yes. That's a thing here. Our server did a great job taking care of us. All our needs were met with finesse. As for the food, so delicious! I would normally go for the Lobster Mac & Cheese, which is to die for, but I like to switch things up. The Mahi Mahi Sandwich didn't disappoint. The regular mac & cheese that I had for my side is some of the best around town. The cocktails are flawless. My Mint Julep and Manhattan were perfectly crafted and 100% satisfying. This place is consistent and will not let you down. Looking forward to my next visit.

For the food, the best item on the bbq chicken platter was the creamed corn. There was a perfect crunch on top and the cream paired very well with the sweet corn. I believe it had jalapeños in it but there barely was any spice. The bbq chicken tasted just like you would imagine it and the fries weren't anything special. My girlfriend really enjoyed the lobster mac & cheese. Just like the creamed corn, my girlfriend complimented the crunch on top of the entree. We both liked the spinach dip and the chips were lightly seasoned well too. For the drinks, we got the baby blue cosmo and the espresso martini. The martini was good and the cosmo was pretty strong for it being a restaurant.
