We had done business with them many years when they were on Peck Rd, and were satisfied with the work. Fast forward many years later, and we wanted to upgrade our 2006 truck with a modern audio system. We dealt with Alex, who is the son. Our first mistake was we didn't shop around as we normally do. He showed us a system, the brand was Dual. We were satisfied with the quote and length of time to have it installed, and what we thought was a good price. Well, lo and behold our truck was broken into about a month later right in our driveway. They damaged the ignition, key lock on the driver side, and took the screen. We had a medical situation and my husband called Alex to explain what occurred, he told him when your discharged well reconnect. I called a few places to get estimates, and the first thing I was told when I informed them of the brand, Al & Ed's said,"not to be rude, but that's a cheap brand" ($650 unit and installation) another place told me that was a Walmart brand. We did check Amazon and Walmart, and yes they were a lot less, under $300. So at this point still going back to them. My husband calls Alex. to let him know he is still in the hospital, and Alex gave him attitude, responding with - "yeah" " and", not in a professional way. That's when we decided they lost us a customer. I know this is lengthy, but make sure you compare prices. We went to Planet Audio on Azusa, in West Covina, purchased an audio system, alarm, with a kill switch, walked out the door paying $500. Gilbert Garcia was very accommodating. Oh, forgot apparently there are two buttons behind the screen, we pressed you can take the screen in your home. The only thing told us, if you're in a bad neighborhood just push the screen down. SMH. i am seeing all the bad reviews but these guys are down the street from me and i decided to give them a chance. i met with alex the installer and we priced out everything before hand - something you guys should always do at audio shops lol i brought in my own head unit and alex had it done in an hour for $100. VERY fair considering my car had a million wires left from the last wire harness. and he did it super clean. same day - i brought my girls car to install the digital rearview /front view recording cam and i was very happy with how clean the job did - another 1.5 hours tops finishd the night off with alex adding one more rearview cam for my car too. i'm def going to recommend this place as long as you go and talk to alex. i'll be back in a week for him to do my sisters rearview cam thanks dude read more

Brought my brand new car in. They messed up the computer and I had to have it towed out of there. They refuse to say it was their fault even though this is the only place that has opened my hood. They did the initial install of my amplifier and it was great until fuses started blowing with the set up. After two fuse changes they were going to do an upgraded fuse so it wouldn't blow but then they some how fried the ecu on my new car with 2000 miles on it. It cost a bunch of money at the dealer to fix and the refuse responsibility. read more

rude owner + horrible customer service. My window from my car fell and he "fixed" it. Charged me $250. The same day the window wouldn't go up normally it would stop and go sideways and get stuck. I went back and told him the problem and he said he couldn't do anything about it that he charges $20 to check it. I don't mind paying the $20 but they're super rude about it they don't want to admit their faults they just want $$$$. So no don't go here don't recommend. read more

Horrible service. Took my car in to get some fog lights installed, he charged me $100 more from the price he gave me just cause they were gonna have to remove the bumper. One of the bulbs burned out in the 3rd month from getting it and when I tried replacing it myself I found out he had done his own Mickey Mouse to get the lights in the actual compartment. This place deserves 0 - stars. I bought a car stereo and speakers, I PAID$320. Including installation The guy at first said he would give me the missing clips, when he finish installing the speakers he said his job was only audio, no door panel fixer. He tricked me to convince me. I PAID for new and specific size speakers, he installed the dusty speakers that were in display in the rear, and smaller speakers in the front doors. I REQUESTED for brand new speakers he said they were new speakers, he then said that would charge me 40 dlls, for removing the dusty speakers and installing brand new. STEREO INSTALLATION,-was not good install, the very next day the stereo was turning on and off by itself. He said the connector was loose, he pluged it back in. He let his kid do the installation. PRICE, I went to Best buy to compare prices the speakers were 50% and car stereo 30% cheaper in Best buy. For all these reason will never do businesses in this place again. read more

Don't waste your time! I came here a while back and decided to give this place a try even after reading the negative reviews because i lived close by. I wanted to get a new stereo set up and spent over $1,000 so you would think I would get great service but nope. They sold me a stereo for $600 and when I checked online it was actually worth $200, when it was installed the screen had scratches on it, i had to go back about 4 times because it kept giving me trouble and after figuring out what was wrong with it they still charged me again to fix it even though you would think it was their mistake. To top it off they chewed up my shift knob and tried to say that's how it was when I brought my car. They didn't even want to take responsibility or pay for a new one they only took a few dollars off and i had to buy a new one and get it installed. I have since gone to a new audio place to get some things installed and way better service and no problems so please save your money and go where they have good reviews read more

I took my brand new denali to install an amp, it keeps on making noises and they cant figure out why. I asked if he has ever worked on a suv like mine and of course he said yes. Thieves! They installed a "$900.00" camera that they got at Amazon for $300.00. They charged me $160.00 for extra wire and "special instructions" They broke the dashboard. They made a bunch of holes (they didn't even covered them) because they put the cameras on the wrong place. They didn't installed the functions of the camera (back up, left and right lane change) And on top of that I had to go back multiple times because they didn't secured the wires and they would disconnect and I would loose the signal. I read their bad reviews prior to going with them but I still wanted to give them a chance which I now regret. I don't recommend them at all, unless you want to waste your money and time. read more

I've been going to this place for several years. I had my Bluetooth audio system that I purchased from Amazon installed by Francisco, the owner. The installation price is so much lower than another quote that I got. This is a family-owned business. Today I got my rearview camera purchased and installed. So my old alarm broke and I brought it at this shop. Also i wanted to replace my stock steering but since I didn't have tool's ive decided to have the guy do it for me. Along with the horn. Guy told me i need an additional horn. So he just drilled a hole without asking me. Then tells me its another $5 for the horn button that cost $1 at radioshack. Then later tells me he couldn't instal the horn. My old alarm was the old version auto page. Just like the one i got installed. Im sure it had similar parts in it. The guy told me i needed the piece that connects to the door(like the sensor to activate the alarm) which my car already had from the old alarm. Charged me another $5. Knowing that he didn't change it. All he did was remove the rumber cover of it. Now im missing the cover. Very bad service. They just wanna take your money. Forgot to mention the light of the alarm was drilled on a round edge that its hanging kind of loose. And the double sided tape used on the pager is way to big its on the way. And the panel was not put back correctly. If you're not a car person you shouldn't go here because they'll only take your money. And probably just break some more stuff if not take it. read more

Got my front windshield tint here. Notice scratches on the tint film. He offered 5 year warranty. Everything besides broken windshield. He still wanted to charge me a labor fee 45$. Owner clams it was a car wash that sketched the tint film when no one has whipped the windshield since his worker installed it. Coworker also put out that it was my towels that sketched the film. Long story short this guy don't not keep his word. DO NOT GET WORK FROM HIM. read more

El Monte Audio Systems is a family owned car audio and alarm system shop that I visited recently when my own self installed audio system started encountering problems. I stopped by mentioned the problem I was having and they told me pull it in and they would fix it. I told them I thought it was a complicated problem with the ground and it was affecting the entire electrical system and so I would need an estimate in order to go ahead (fearing a hundred or more in repairs). The owner Francisco told me $10 without a hesitation and I laughed saying "That definitely works". It took them 15 minutes and they found the problem was a faulty wire. They seem very honest and very direct people so I wouldn't hesitate referring anyone to them. read more

Had good service before bought a stereo, 4 speakers, a sub woofer, equalizer and a 4 channel 1000,00 wat amp. The last thing I bought was the sub woofer and amp together, its been about a month and can't hear the subwoofer so I take it in oh he said your amp is no good only two channels are working its an old amp about a year old, no I bought this about 6 months ago. He wouldn't even try to help me out, so I went down the street Kreative Audio the guy said the wires he used are two small you need two amps one for the loss and one for the highs that amp can't handle all that power. I came across this place looking for options to upgrade my car stereo system, as they are local to where I live. I was immediately turned off and am now haunted by the image of the dog they have caged in a tiny fenced off containment (3' x 5'?), where he is forced to spend every day blocked off from all sunshine (especially after extremely cold and rainy days), and where he spends the summer on blistering hot days.He gets let out at night, or on days when they are closed. But he is always always always alone, timid, and trembling on cold nights. Especially on these cold nights where the temperatures have been reaching a low of 37 degrees, and all he has is a rag to pretend to keep warm ...? I wish the city of El Monte would put a ban on "garage" dogs. It is an unethical practice and cruel treatment of animals who deserve better from us. I will not support this business. read more

Please becareful when taking your car here. I took my car here to change my front and back lights I brought my own lights. I was caharged 65$ and after I left my front left light no longer worked. I took it to another guy who showed me that they didnt even do what they said showed me my front light burned out. I paid ti have it changed. So I don' t get pulled over for my lights not working and left with them still not working. They do a shity job at something little and easy I hate to think what may happen after taking your car here for a new system in your car. I bet it too won' t wrk correctly after you leave and go hone. Make sur your really on top of everthing they are doing. It is to close to the holidays to pay for something faulty and/ or wrongly put together.
