I didn't think I would find it in Redlands! I'm so happy!! My favorite pan dulce is the one with a strawberry swirl that's coated with coconut. It's my treat for studying, working and working out. We ordered 6 pork,6 chicken, and 6 chilli cheese tamales on Sunday and we picked them up on Tuesday Christmas Eve. It's a small little bakery store in Redlands. They sell homemade tortillas de flour and corn. They also sell pan dulces and other items. A dozen of tamales costs $18.00 and a half dozen costs $9.00. The tamales are the "Bomb", we all liked them all. Very moist not dry at all. The chilli cheese tamales are very spicy, and my kids loved them,my kids were very happy. Overall the store needs to be updated and they need to be more organized on when the customers order all the tamales and there other items. When we went to go pick up our tamales we had to wait 20 minutes for the pork tamales, and there were a lot of people who were waiting on pork tamales. They need to at least make the inside look more updated and not so bland inside. Other then that the tamales are very good and we'll worth the wait. I will be back to order more again. Customer service was okay it could have been more organized on the orders, and explain more better to each customer. read more

I have been going there for over a year now and ordering tamales but today I was not helped by the lady but by the older man and he is so rude . Called back later with specifics, response was to first hang up on me, then to say "no cake." then I asked to speak to someone in English, to which their response was "no English." My family and I used to love this place and bought tamales often. The owner is very nice. However, our most recent and LAST experience with El Nayar we found a well-done fly in a tamale. I called promptly after this discovery and the owner offered to give use two new ones in place of this one. I have been looking for some place to get fresh pan dulce and I believe that Nayar has potential but did not present its best face when my gf and I stopped by one afternoon after Alberto's. It looks like they are trying to have a bakery on one side and a juice place on the other but only the bakery was open on our visit. We had two different kinds of pan dulce. Both were sweet but not too sugary however my gf complained that hers was already hard in a couple spots, so some birds got a free meal. I am totally up for giving them a second chance especially since they sell tamales (good for Christmas), tortillas, carnitas and for my hardcore brothers n sisters chicharrones. ; P read more

went in to get some carnitas because most of the reviews said they were delicious. A little disappointed they only sold them 2 days a week lol. So instead got some tamales. OMG these tamales smelt amazing on the drive back to work. I got to work and everyone in the office knew what I had in the bag because of the "manteca" smell lol even the mechanics came from next door because they smelled the tamales. Ordered tamales for Christmas from here and they did not disappoint. The tamales were great! Especially the cheese ones. The customer service was great and I picked up 2 days before Christmas and they had plenty to sell besides the preorders, which is great. I go here all the time to buy pan dulce (Sweet Bread) and tortillas de arrina for my mom. The bread taste good, and always fresh. The tameles are okay, my mom's are tastier. Customer service is good too, there always a older gentleman there to greet you, and most of the time starts small talk. I know this is a bakery, but on the weekend they have the best taco's around Redlands.Real mexican taco's that taste better than Albertos and Cucas. I believe it's from 7-10pm. read more

I will never go back! I was a loyal customer for their tamales every Christmas season but the tamales they sold me for Christmas 2015 were awful. They were not wrapped in the corn husk, they wrapped them in paper. They only had a very little amount of meat and lots of masa. No flavor at all. Sorry, but in years past you had good tamales. Maybe this year you just got too greedy! I ordered 4 dozen tamales and threw them away, they were so bad! Not going back! This is second review. My first one was taken down. If I could have given them no stars, that's what they would've got! The gentleman there was extremely rude! Called to find out their business hours and couldn't understand the guy that answered the phone. When I tried to confirm with him that I called the correct place, he rudely commented that isn't that what I dialed. Super rude, I tried to ask him for his name and he yelled at me saying I didn't need to know his name and hung up on me!
