Fajita Lunch Special
Jessica C.

El Palenque was A-okay. We had just flown into the airport to visit family and needed somewhere close for lunch. I got the fajita lunch special with steak. The quality of the steak was not great and I wasn't crazy about the seasoning. My stepdaughter got some chicken tacos, but said no after one bite. We tasted the tacos and they were very salty. My husband got a grilled chicken dish, which was the best out of the bunch. The rice & beans were yummy. Management was very friendly and accommodating about the salty tacos. The best thing about El Palenque was the friendliness of the staff.

AWESOME FOOD!!! This place is my go to Mexican place to eat. The food is to die for. The waiter/waitress are awesome. I have yet to receive a bad vibe/review from this place. ***BUEN PROVECHO***

Enchiladas, queso, margarita

I thought this was a solid meal! I am very set in my ways when I go to a Mexican restaurant. I always get enchiladas Rojas. This time was a good visit, some of my party got margaritas, we also got a queso to share. Something interesting about the queso was that they didn't have plain queso on the menu, they only had queso fundido with chorizo, so if that's what you prefer, you can still order it. Would definitely go back to the Tiedeman location, I know they have other locations in the area so I would have to try those before recommending. We came in just before 5 PM on a Thursday so it was not crowded and we were able to be seated quickly.

I have been here before and the food was good, but I didn't care for the food this time. They do have good guacamole though. Our waitress was nice and restaurant seemed clean. The lighting is dark inside, but they do have a patio as well. We got the mexican street tacos & the quesabirria tacos. I would probably try them again, but order differently.

We stayed at a hotel in the same parking lot as this restaurant. It was easy just to walk over. The place was busy but they sat us quickly. Brought us chips and salsa and took our drink order. Food didn't take too long to arrive. My daughter liked her seafood burrito and her man was happy with his. My carnitas unfortunately was dry and hard on the outside. They have a couple great murals inside. Don't see myself in that area again but I would try one more time with a different selection.

Chile con Queso, Guacamole, El Palenque Tacos & Burrito Azteca

Pretty good! It got packed as soon as we sat down. Just a constant stream of people coming in. It was a little loud but nearly every seat was taken! The food was good for the price. We got Chile con queso, Guacamole, Burrito Azteca and El Palenque tacos. The tacos were good besides the steak one, just too overcooked and too much gristle. The burrito was decent but on the menu doesn't state that sour cream is on the inside. The ranchero also wasn't on the burrito unfortunately. The guacamole was super good just needed some extra salt!! Overall a good mexican place to add to your dine out list!

Came here with my fiancé for a pretty early dinner. Thankfully, we were able to get a table quickly. We started off with queso and they also brought out complementary salsa. Both of them were very tasty. My entrée I ordered the rancheros enchiladas and subbed out chicken or shredded beef. All that was very good and we will be back!

Enjoyed El Palengue, Brooklyn location, with a group or 25+ last night! My star rating is motivated by the amazing service. The entire restaurant was busy, and we still got drinks, food, and checks in a timely manner. The food came out quickly and was served hot (sometimes with larger groups, it isn't). The food was good, typical Mexican with yummy homemade sauces.

Margarita, chips, and salsa dip

Found this super cute authentic Mexican restaurant and struck gold! We had the queso blanco and salsa dip, margaritas, and soft tacos. The Margaritas were amazing! They weren't watered down and were spot on! Tacos!!!!!!! Were so flavorful, perfect amount of seasoning, and the mozzarella cheese that was added was actually shredded by hand! ( our server told us they come in as big bricks) The queso dip was not too spicy!! Win for us! And was very thick! We will definitely be returning

Surprisingly great! I was headed to Cracker Barrel for a mediocre meal on the way to the airport when I spotted El Palenque. The large parking lot was mostly empty on a Saturday at noon, I jumped on yelp to check it out and it looked to be worth a try. Glad I did. I was seated immediately and greeted by multiple staff members. They brought chips and salsa quickly and were prepared with a recommendation when I asked about drink specials. The chips are good and the salsa is authentic. I ordered the steak lunch fajitas, a great value at $10. The house margarita isn't amazing, but not bad. Atmosphere is fun and clean. I may have to make this my routine stop when in Cleveland. Grateful to have found a good spot with friendly staff. I will definitely be back.

This place never disappoints. The food, drinks and service are always good. I order a peach mango margarita and chicken street tacos. Both were amazing. I did not enjoy the complimentary chips and salsa, but I prefer warm chips. The salsa is good.

Their combinations are labeled by the days of the week, but you can order whichever one that you like any day of the week snow crab king, crab, muscles, oysters, scallops, of course, having the seafood cooked properly is what makes good seafood and also the seafood being fresh but for this place, I'd have to say in addition to that the sauce being made fresh with the garlic and all the seasonings is what also keeps me coming back. they have mastered the sauce combination not too salty not too sweet. You can customize your spice level anywhere from mild medium to hot. They also have good wings too if you're looking to get hot wings and fries, they have good fried fish. This place is about 25 miles away from me and I drive out to get the food every time so if you're looking for fresh properly cooked seafood, and a good seafood boil sauce this place I would highly recommend the service is pretty consistent helpful friendly the ambiance is a typical seafood place decor is seafood sea boat Florida type they have a bar good for watching the game it's not an upscale place super casual in my opinion.

The clams were really tender and the sausage is also really flavorful. The entire bill was 70$ and was able to feed 3 people, and keep in mind we got a seafood boil, chicken poy boy, and calamari (was really zesty). The Ambiance around the restaurant fitted the vibe, jack sparrow was at the entrance and had fish hanged up on the roof. This place really deserves the 5 stars, this place is really underrated it's a must try.

I enjoyed the Poblano Hibiscus Margarita, so much I had 2. It was the perfect amount of spice and sweetness. As an appetizer I ordered lobster bisque and calamari. The bisque was so good. I should've ordered a bowl. The calamari was lightly breaded and served with 2 dipping sauces. As a meal I ordered the short rib pierogis and fries. Neither impressed me. I found the pierogis to be a bit salty. I was hesitant to order dessert because I had so much food, half of which I took home. However, I'm happy decided to order the warm cake with fresh berry topping. It really saved the day. The bartender/waitress was very attentive and actually recommended dessert. I plan to go back between I've heard the brunch is nice.

They…read morehad plenty of seating, so you might be able to get away without a reservation, but don't chance it if your heart is set on dinner here. Especially on a weekend. Service and atmosphere was great. We had a very attentive and helpful server that gave us recommendations and checked on us often. Elegant restaurant that has a nice and fancy vibe to it. Great for date nights and special occasions. We sampled and found really good tasting wines. Made note and will purchase those wines in the future for casual drinking at home. We started with the complimentary bread and butter. Bread has hot out of the oven and tasted fresh. Also very soft. A+ on the bread. Same with the crab cake for an appetizer. Very small portion of just 1 crab cake, but favor was everything you could want when ordering a crab cake. Moving into the entree is where I marked them down on food. The main course of the meal(Steak, Walleye, Scallops) were excellent for all parties of our table. The problem was the sides were very lacking. My red potatoes were undercooked and hard. They just seemed basic with no added flavors. My green beans were cooked properly, but it was steamed green beans with zero flavor. They were just plain. Same with the corn mix. The sides need more flavor whether it's coming from a seasoning or sauce. We finished our meal off with bread pudding. Didn't get a picture of this, but it was tasty. I try bread pudding at any restaurant that offers it and felt this was mostly a flavored bread with ice cream on it. Not much of the creamy pudding to be a real bread pudding. But it was good for what it was. Overall, I do recommend trying this place. Some flavors will be bland while others will be flavor packed.

The food on each occasion has been kind of blasé. The drinks have been better. Two of the three times, the service was lackluster for the price tag. On one occasion, I had to send back glasses and silverware because it was dirty, and my date's setting was also dirty. Maybe they're going through a transition of sorts. I love the idea of it but not the execution.
